Get ready for Alex to return,and it'll be a bad mistake,but I ain't surprised.

I can't believe Alex Smith could see action Sunday (If Allen goes down) who would have ever thought it??

Im squirming at the thought of it. Is there anyway that bone could withstand a helmet hit to it?

I'll never discount the advancements in medicine and healing from 1985 to now. If the doctors approve it, that's good enough for me.

Part of me secretly wishes he'd get some PT so we can all stare in amazement at the miracle we'd be witnessing.

idk if I want to see Alex out there. It's a great story though - we are going to hold our breath when and if he gets tackled.

DH has played his last down for us.
If there's one thing this has convinced me of, it's that a new HC needs to pick his own qb. Philly won a SB 3 years after the Chip Kelly debacle partly due to this.

We'll be lucky if we can get a similar package for Haskins that Arizona got for Rosen.
we are not getting anything near that for Haskins . . . Rosen was not good his rookie season, but he was not anywhere near as bad as Haskins as been . . . Hell a lot of people here though we should trade for Rosen . . . who would think they should trade for Haskins?

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

QBs who got benched and later went on to have successful seasons are not numerous. But it's not unheard of. Matthew Stafford was benched in 2015 during his age 27 season. Kurt Warner got benched for Marc Bulger in St. Louis and went on to make a Super Bowl appearance for the Cardinals.

Most of the time though, it's a Brock Osweiler situation, benched and the dude never does much after.

It's possible this motivates Haskins and he straightens himself out, but more likely we're moving on.

You can change the name. You can paint lipstick on a hog. But we're still the fucking Redskins. Everyone get to their YouTube apps and start watching Lawrence, Lance, Fields highlights.

I'm OK with the move. I would like to see more of Haskins but you also can't develop the other guys with his piss poor QB play.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

He really should have thrown the ball into the endzone on that 4th down. I'm not even really against the change, but this whole thing has been butchered.

All of me wants to see this. If he's been cleared by all of his and the teams doctors and he wants to play, let him play. Would be the NFL feel good story of the season.

That, in my opinion, has to be the driving force here. Obviously you want to give him time to develop and see what you have, but not at the expense of developing and evaluating the rest of the roster. Hopefully Kyle Allen can step in and play at a higher level so they can actually evaluate the whole team...and who knows, perhaps compete in this seemingly terrible division.

I was talking to another diehard fan yesterday at my local dog park and he brought this up. It’s a looming fact, but I hope Haskins would be receptive to holding a clipboard and learning. I still think he has talent and intangibles which could develop as a contributor.

At the same time I look at Kyle Allen and kinda cringe. He turns the ball over so dang much

The bone is reinforced with metal. Once a bone regrows, it's no longer a weak point.

I know this personally.

I'm not worried about his leg bones. I'm worried about his running speed behind this offensive line.

He's smart though, he'll get the ball out quickly AND ACCURATELY.

Re: Kyle Allen named the starter

I was defending Haskins getting the season to show progress if the coaches think he is the guy. But if they know then it is best to go with Allen. They have a few other young pieces on that offense that they need to develop and shouldn't come at the expense of Haskins.

Is this the right move? I’m really torn, but I think Haskins should be given more of an opportunity.

I don’t if this might have something to do with the QB change:

THIS ^^^^^

Haskins will probably be traded or released in the off-season, he will jump between teams for a few seasons as a cheap camp arm. His best bet to extend his career is signing on to willingly be the backup. He may turn it around, but history says it is unlikely.

Rivera is kicking ass and taking names. You don't perform sit the hell down! Can't be mad about it and is a refreshing change than what we've been used to.

Haskins body language in that pics speaks a thousands words. Arms crossed and seems disinterested. Think it may have been his agent's tweet but who knows. Doubt we see him play anymore here. QB situation changed quickly.

For reference.

Kyle Allen completed 27-of-46 passes for 278 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception in the Panthers' Week 13 home loss to the Redskins.

Trying to win is fine.

But then the endings to the Cards' and Browns' game are un-freakin-acceptable ! !!

And so is last week in game decision making !

This is my hope, that we're not throwing in the towel on DH yet, but giving him a chance to learn and really get ready. He was thrown into a bad situation last season and the O-Line this year isn't doing him any favors. The kid has talent, he's just not ready after 1 season of college and what he's been thrown into in his first 11 games here.

I called it earlier, we'll see Smith this season. Now it's looking likely.

One positive it clearly looks like RR has control of this team, in the past i could see Danny never letting something like this happen.

To be frank I don't think i ever see DH being a starter in this league, nothing about him as impressed me.

Well if the story about a QB with Covid antibodies has any merit Haskins might not be able to suit up.

My understanding is that if you have the antibodies, that means that you have had the disease, but no longer do. If that is so, the player with the antibodies does not currently have the virus, and there would be no reason to not allow him to suit up. Am I misunderstanding what having the antibodies means?
