Seems we are still undisciplined too.

Sam Howell is already better than TH

Doc was absolutely unhinged announcing today and you know what. I loved it. Not one second of football IQ was exchanged today. Just 100% homerism.

Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
No injuries. Sounds like Wentz was ok. Hate they lost even though it is meaningless lol.

Wentz looked fine. Nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about. Heinicke was not good. Howell was great. He could find himself slipping into the Q2 spot if he keeps performing like he did. Noted that it was against the scrubs mostly but he looked way better than Corral. |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
RB1: Robinson
QB2: Howell |

I would not be surprised if Howell becomes a starter sometime this season, I'm so glad they came to their senses and drafted him. I think Howell was this draft's best QB.

Yeah I wouldn’t be either. Not really going out on a limb because Rivera needs to win and Wentz could easily fold thinking about it…. |

Wentz would have to suck balls and I hope he doesn’t but yeah I love Sam Howell. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
Howell looked very good. Man, what a great pick in the 5th.
Brian Robinson looks like a great pick too. It's only 1 game. But still definitely better than the alternative. They both look like legit NFL football players. |

And those taco helmets are nice!! They're nice!!

Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
I like what I see from Howell. If I'm Rivera, I would try to play him as much as we can in this preseason.

I think the unis would be better with burgundy pants - the all white (no stripes) looks a little long underwear to me. Stripes would help too - maybe the same scheme as the sleeve. It still feels like a little mismatch to have gold in the helmet but nowhere else. But I have to say, I liked them better than I thought I would.
The helmets have really grown on me - the color and matte finish is sharp and I love that the face masks are dark too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
We don’t have a QB controversy, but I officially say we have a RB controversy.
You can’t lead the league for RB fumble lost and then fumble first thing in the preseason. |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
Hard to argue with this. Apparently Leno gave him a good pep talk fight after. He’s got to clean that up and fast.

It's simply inexcusable to fumble that quickly, when obviously you were aware it's a problem. Robinson should start next week. |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
Yeah I like AG, he’s got the talent but he is a TO machine. You can’t have a back fumble that much. Robinson will be the guy eventually

Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
Those uniforms were hideous. I can't believe they're going to play actual games w/those things. That was embarrassing.
Other then that it was a pre season game. No need to try and analyze the game. But butter fingers has a problem. Now that everyone knows AG can't hold on top the ball he is going to have everyone punching at him. But I do want to see as much of Howell as possible. He could very well be our starter next year. I think this Wentz thing will be a one year rental. Heinicke needs to be #3. |

Jon Allen is a fucking machine
|
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
We played man on that last drive, every snap... They wanted to put them in a tough situation and it would have paid off if it wasn't for that facemask.
Also Matt Corrall is TH 2.0 |

Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
That Heniecke int was really bad…you know, I think making it more competitive between Sam and TH for the 2nd qb job would be great for both. Rivera should maybe hype that up more. SH replay yesterday…his arm looks better that TH

I see Sammis Reyes only got 2 snaps in the game, both on ST, seems he is sinking off of the roster, how long do you keep a roster spot for a project?

As I stated yesterday, Doc is good for a radio show but a bit much for game commentary. I use to actually like him on the 'noon Jefferson-Pilot/Raycom ACC football games from several years ago. He was the analyst on those games for quite a few years. Doc was even-keeled, although he was kinda funny as well on those games. Now, on broadcasts, he's a bit over-the-top with the constant rah rah/tough guy talk and the hackneyed cliches. He's almost a caricature of himself. He's better suited for a radio show IMO, as his overzealousness eventually becomes boring. This is coming from someone who really likes Doc Walker. |

Almost as if Albert didn't feel totally comfortable working next to him. Walker sounded more like a critical, pissed fan than color commentator. Great stuff though. Theismann was pretty candid in this role previously. Walker was on a whole other level. |
Re: Panthers v. Manders Preseason Gameday Thread
I found Doc Walker to be very entertaining. His enthusiasm for football and the Commanders was refreshing. He made me laugh a lot during the game, too. Right now, I need to hear some over-the-top super fan commentary on my team. It's pre-season, so go for it, Doc!
