These old QBs who only had limited or average mobility as youngsters are now statues in their late 30s/early 40s. If they can't get consistent time then they're sitting ducks and you get inconsistent play due to 'em not being able to move.

ESPN has long been a crap network when it comes to their regular programming shows. I only watch ESPN for games and 30 for 30 series. I'll occasionally watch a bit of Monday Night Countdown and that's it when it comes to tuning into anything regarding ESPN.

Assuming he was not a good fit getting him out now accelerates them finding a replacement. A GM really can't do much for you this time of the year might as well get someone in now that can start prepping for the draft.
