I thought the St Juste call was bad, what’s worse was the Refs judgement. You swallow the whistle because the ball wasn’t catchable and St Juste didn’t interfere at the point of the ball. Still not as bad as the ejection. That was a penalty but to eject was the just ridiculous. |

Imagine if the offense wasn't getting it done - and the defense was on the field more. Thank goodness Howell is at least making these losses look respectable... |
Yeah the coaching staff needs to go yesterday.
I'd like to go after one of the hotshot GM candidates like Ian Cunningham or Andy Weidl - both AGMs who came up under Ozzie in Baltimore and spent several seasons in Philadelphia including their SB victory. Let the GM pick the HC, but ideally someone like Ben Johnson or Bobby Slowik who got his NFL coaching start in Washington. Rivera and JDR are horrendous. Not impressed with Bieniemy, either.
Welcome to the board and I agree with every single thing you said!!! |

I know you're high on Smith but anyone that has worked with or under Ozzie would also be really high on my list. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The difference is they got rid of the cancer that was Josh McDaniels - he is so atrociously bad at being a head coach anybody is an immediate improvement. Ron is not a good coach but he's better than McDaniels - we always stumble around to average every year. Players respect him whereas they don't respect McDaniels. McDaniels ego was so big he thought he can turn a high-schooler into an All-Pro. That's what did him in. Let Ron ride out the year, hopefully we keep seeing improvement from Howell and we clean house in the offseason. I'd love for Kyle Smith to come back as GM in the offseason, we need some fresh blood there. Go find the next Kyle Shanahan for coaching - we need a guy who can maximize our late round draft talent. |

Yes, a halfway competent staff would have us at 6-4 or 7-3 right now. |
Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
Ron isn't better than anyone and neither is del Rio.
They should have been gone WEEKS ago. |
Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
They need to go however if they do I wouldn’t be surprised if the team collapses and when that happens players could quit or get hurt .. I would not get rid of Ron until season ends however I would move on from JDR .. like today! Ron is the same coach as he has always been .. middle of road type.He hired Eric and the Offense for the most part is playing ok . The D has collapsed completely ( Ron and the front office signed off on trading our top two pass rushers.. so essentially they threw in the towel on the D ) so why not move on from JDR??
|
Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
I know people hate on Carroll but he is damn good coach. He's in his 70's and has the energy of a guy in his 20's. That rubs off on his team I feel. He's going up and down the sidelines coaching guys up- it matters.

Washington Defense | 2023
EPA Per Play Against 0.061 26th Average Yards Allowed Per Play 5.5 T-27th Scoring Drive Allowed % 56.6% 32nd PFF STATS We give up a scoring drive 57% of every drive LMAO! That is COMICAL |
Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
Rivera and Del Rio are losers. And I mean just by the actual definition. They just are incompetent and cannot win more than a handful of games each season.
The job they have done on defense is an absolute fucking embarrassment. If they had any self-respect, they would come out and say the same and re-sign. Instead they will continue to "steal" money for the rest of the season. When they get fired, I want a celebration with them walking out of the building. Like the reverse of when a king comes back into his city after being out on wars. |

That final drive yesterday would be the nail in the coffin for any other DC on any other team whose DC’s seat was already on fire, but stubborn Ron will keep him. Why? Because Ron enjoys losing. My God those two are such a detriment to this team. Oh well 7 more games with dumb and dumber. |

This season is a wash but at least EB and Howell are a good duo. Yesterday Sam made some damn good plays scrambling… I don’t want to get crazy but he looked like a mini mahomes on some… not saying he’ll be like 15 but u get the point. The defense is just absolutely a train wreck. The talent just isn’t there. Look at our LBs and Safeties. Curl is solid but he’s not a star S, on most teams he’s JAG. Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
Ron and Jack don't like sending pressure. But it seems like whenever they did it worked. Sanchez even mentioned it. Why not keep doing it? The definition of stupid is doing something over and over again that doesn't work. This is Geno Smith. Why didn't they come off the bus pressuring him? I just don't get those two. What are they afraid of? Your defense already sucks.

Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
One guy who has played well the last 2 weeks and is being used properly is Antonio Gibson. With a solid OL, he would be a weapon, I think he could be resigned on a friendly contract and they should.

When's he's not fumbling, he looks like a good football player. Keep him away from in-between the tackles as much as humanly possible, and he can make some plays. |

You can't drape yourself over a guy past the 5 yard mark regardless of if the ball was there are not. That is getting called 99 out of 100 times and should be called 100 out of 100. |
Re: Can we get some D - Seahawks post game thread
Here's a crazy idea: keep Rivera and JDR so we can get a top 10 pick.: https://www.tankathon.com/nfl
Fire the Marty's and bring in a new GM right now, that reports directly to Josh Harris. Let them start working on the draft and do some work in the background to start looking for a new HC. And then fire the entire coaching staff at the end of the year. |

He's fumbled once this year (lost it), albeit in the first game and at a bad time. Robinson has fumbled twice losing one. So this year, Robinson has fumbled twice as much as Gibson. lol |

That was just piss-poor technique. An absolute specialty of Juste. I think it could have been let go, but I also wasn't pissed-off it got called either. That was completely avoidable on his end if he just played the ball. Instead, it's like he had no idea where the ball was and just wanted to guy Metcalf instead. |

2 fumbles on 60 touches for Gibson. And he's fumbled a lot in the past. I'm holding my breath for the rest of my life every time he gets the ball between the tackles for us. Shows 1 fumble, 1 lost for AG Shows 2 fumbles, 2 lost for Robinson
You're basing on just rushing attempts, I'm basing on total touches. Gibson has had the ball 60 times and fumbled twice. Robinson has had the ball 141 times and fumbled twice. Plus Gibson has a history of fumbling pre-dating this season. It will always be a concern of mine when he has the ball. |

I understand peoples reactions that it was close to the 5 yard mark and not catchable but shitty players are always going to have the refs eye. always. For me I also want calls to be consistent. I don't care if it is asinine every fan should know going in that it will always be called. I get that it is not consistently enforced either on a first down that might not get called, on a 4th bank it. |

*hug Metcalf I agree, he 100% put himself in the position to have that called on him. Definitely way more on him than on the ref that flagged him. |

It was a 100% LEGAL hit. He did nothing wrong. Heads collide in the NFL. There was no crown of the helmet, no lowering of the head. It was total horsesh!t. |

Not only that but you have to have two personal fouls in one game in order to get ejected. |
