the eagles are not as good as they were last year also Hurts is now 2-7 in his last 9 games

Re: Around the NFL Week 2
Are they now to be feared or merely respected? I haven't watched much of the game yet, but I saw the last drive by Atlanta and the Hurts pick. 😁

They feel Sirianni should be fired and Fangio's defense is outdated. Cousins had 0 pressure on him in game winning drive.

Does anyone else hate their stupid tush push as much as I do? It just doesn’t feel like football. Rather fitting that a team I hate is the culprit.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I don't like the tush push either. Seems almost like it shouldn't be in pro football. More like 8th grade football or something. Love the Monday night ending last night. |

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
It's dumb. I was hoping it would be addressed and removed from the game last year. Apparently they addressed it, but only made it illegal for the "pusher" to line up directly behind the would-be ball carrier. That player, or those players, must be at least 1 yard back at the snap. Still dumb. It's not a football play in my opinion. A play that is indefensible doesn't belong in the game. You can't stop 600 pounds of force with a yard's worth of momentum coming at you while you're standing still. The only way it doesn't work is if the QB slips or if there's a bad snap. I honestly don't understand why all 32 teams aren't doing it...since it is legal. |

Sirianni could meet the same fate as Brandon Staley for his overuse of "analytics". I definitely think they should be part of the game, but you have to account for, and have a feel for, a lot of other things that are going on during the game. He's either using analytics too much, or he's just way too cocky for his own (and his team's) good. Either way, fuck him and the Eagles. |

Ye olde "Prevent Defense". You know, the one that prevents the team on defense from winning. Valid criticism IMO. |

Re: Around the NFL Week 2
Tush push is the worst play to be seen on an NFL field since...... well fucking nothing. It's cheap, gross and stupid like the city of Philadelphia and the lot of their fans. It should be banned.
Kickoff sucks too but I get it. Still sucks. |

Drafted him #1, and didn't have a decent OL in place and just threw him out to start. It's a recipe for disaster. THe Panthers will be set back 4-5 years easily. |

I feel that you could have written this: "They kinda did what the Commanders are doing with Jaden Daniels right now. Drafted him #2, and didn't have a decent OL in place and just threw him out to start". Isn't that the way of the NFL for QB's drafted at the top of the draft? The larger problem for Carolina is that they traded up to #1 to get a QB and then drafted the wrong one! In my mind, there are minimum height, weight, and arm strength requirements for a QB to even be considered as a draft pick. He does not meet any of those minimums IMO. And my personal height and weight minimums keep going up every couple of years as the defensive players keep getting taller and stronger. The largest problem of all for the Panthers is that they have a meddling nincompoop owner who forces the football side to do stupid things. That can only change with new ownership. |

I agree but the OL has been decent i think JD5 play and the RBs have help to this point mask the OL's short comings I also think the buzz out of CHI is to try to put some blame on the OL to take some heat off CW18; but CW18 just quit honestly has not been good (only been two games so a ways to go ) The media likes to build these guys up then they LOVE to tear them down the second they are not the shiniest nickel in the bunch |

It's been only 2 games, let's wait 1-2 years to see who is better. Although there is no doubt the first 2 are definitely better than Young. |

Traditional QB sneaks are not the same play. The aim is to create a gap the QB can push himself into. Until they changed the assisting the runner rule the backs couldn't push the QB. I'm actually surprised it took so long for someone the come up with the tush push, given its nearly 20 years since the rule change. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 2
I'm hesitant to give up on Bryce Young.
Panthers owner is the new Snyder and a bunch of old first round busts are playing well for new teams. I'd like to see him as a backup on the Rams or Seahawks. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 2
I thought i saw that the panthers OL was actually reasonable (pff or similar). our OL is decent in run blocking and JD doesn't hold it super long, which helps a bit.

Frank Reich wanted CJ Stroud, but was overruled by the owner. Tepper is the new Snyder. Again showing how much a meddling owner can have long lasting consequences on the field. |

He was a really good college QB in that system with those WRs/RBs. I think it's too early to truly give up on him, but there are plenty of examples of these guys getting drafted top 5 based on what they accomplished in college, only to crash & burn. He looked broken and lost on the sideline last weekend. Time will tell. |

He was standing in the pocket on tiptoe to see over the line in a video I watched. In today's NFL, I wouldn't draft any QB under 6'2" tall unless he was very mobile and had a strong arm. Even Caleb who is a very special talent is going to have some difficulty because of his lack of height. |

Everyone forgets Jayden is 6'4". Height is no issue here and he move around the pocket with the best of them. Totally agree having a taller qb is an advantage.

Height, being taller, is definitely an advantage, but at 5' 10" he could still have success. He could still be a really good quarterback in the NFL. Isn't he the same height as Kyler Murray, and pretty close to Russell Wilson's height? I guess you can't always trust what it says on the team pages. I just think he was set up for failure from the get-go. We shall see. |
Re: Around the NFL Week 2
Caleb is totally lost and he isn't getting much help from his line. He should be on the bench.

Great point. He is talented, but he is so damn small. But Kyler is too and has played at a high level at times. I actually think sitting him is the right call, right now. |
I thought Rodgers was brilliant last night. I hope he can keep it going all season.
He's played well so far this year. The Saleh hug rejection was awkward. Rodgers says no meaning behind it. Body language clearly implies bigger fish to fry than beating New England in an early regular season game. Jets are a legitimate threat if Rodgers stays healthy.
