Honestly no. I don’t see a team taking at RB in the top 10 with so many needs
Teams (Atlanta/Detroit) that have top 10 RB picks didn't make the playoffs last year. I think one thing is constant. If you don't have a top tier defense, you are wasting your time in the regular season.

Will be interesting to see where he lands and the rest of his career. He was hurt nearly the entire 2025.

Not here. He's just starting to walk right now, and he's also 31. Hard pass. Rather just keep Debo.
Hard pass
Agree. Still think he gets picked up somewhere if the physical checks out and he still has the jets. Say what you want about him but his production and speed are no joke when healthy. The physical may be a problem for him though.

Wylie re-signed. Reasonable deal for a guy that can backup every OL position.

Is anyone else shocked by this? To be clear, I thought Biadsz was a good but not great center, and I wouldn't say that an upgrade was impossible, but unless there's someone on the team that they have confidence in taking over that important position, we're just adding to the list of critical needs. So now CB, DE, S, LB, TE, WR, and now C are all positions where we need serious help. They'd better extend Tunsil and re-sign Paul.

we will see how it shacks out but the new FO has been a head scratcher

Biadz was one of their better signings, maybe they want a center that is better with the QB under center, no idea

its a big year for DQ and Adam, see what happens

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

Yeah I'm surprised by the release of Biadsz, we saved only under $3 million with this move so this is definitely not a cap saving move. But then we have a new OC and I'm guessing that Blough wants a center who fits better with his offense style.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

Isn't there a question about how injured he was at the end of the season? Could it be that's a factor as well as whether he can play in teh new O?

2026 cap is up from $279.2 million last year to $301.2 million this year. That’s $22 million more this year.

Really hope the defense will be upgraded significantly which I expect. New defensive coordinator Daronte Jones is supposed to be excel with the secondary.

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

They better improve or else someone else will be gm in 2027.

AP has to erase last year’s mistakes and sign young and faster free agents that actually turn the team around. The offense and especially defense has to be vastly improved.

DQ’s floor is 9-8. The offense bounces back. The defense improves from 32 to say at minimum 18-20. Playoffs would be preferred but the nfc will be more competitive this year. A losing record is not acceptable.

Re-signed Allegretti. Suggestions he would be pegged as the new starting C subject to draft/FA.

Saw something on FB suggesting Von Miller has signed a 1 year deal but can't find official word.

Actually he might have a wait. He did little in Arizona and he’s a small qb.
Actually he might have a wait. He did little in Arizona and he’s a small qb.
True, but there are a bunch of teams with QB needs -- MIA, PIT, MIN, CLE, ATL, LAS, and NYJ -- and it's hard to imagine that one of them won't make a move to see what Murray has. The teams in AZ underperformed pretty much across all position groups, even if they have had a number of good individual players, and folks might well think he could flourish elsewhere.

WCommandersfan99 03-03-2026 06:39 PM

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

I'd be shocked if he doesn't get picked up. As Calia states too many teams with qb needs and minimal options. Murray has already stated a desire to possibly go to Minny. Kid still has talent and jets. Injuries a concern.

New england reportedly made an offer for AJ brown. Philly somehow going to get overpaid again (at least in the immediate) cuz the asking price was absurd - glad to have AJ out of the division if it happens, but not when they will turn around and those picks become Crosby or solid 1st rounders.

Ravens get Maxx Crosby:

Crosby is a stud but 2 1st rd picks is a lot to give up too much imo. Pretty surprised Baltimore did this honestly as they must have really wanted him.

Monday is the when tampering window opens and free agency starts 4pm Wednesday.

How many free agents do we sign early on? I expect at least one first tier on offense and one on defense. AP has to spend that money.

We have so many holes we are going to need to sign around 20 free agents I think. I really hope we're going to make some big splashes but I just have a nagging feeling that we'll be left underwhelmed.

I just can't shake the feeling that AP is going to fuck it up. The one group we didn't think needed to be touched was the OL but we've already lost Biadasz and I don't think Chris Paul will be back which worries me. Maybe its just too many years of hurt? Gonna be interesting.

AnonEmouse 03-08-2026 12:04 PM

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

When we talk about holes, I think we need to be mindful that a) we only have some holes in the starting line ups and b) a few positions with little real depth. But what we definitely have is room for improvement at a number of positions, where current starters will be adequate, if not good depth. What we need is 5 or 6 starters from FA, giving us options in the draft. If we can get 6-10 proper starters out of both, we'll be better next year. What we don't want to do is chase 15-20 starters and be cash strapped for years, or the reverse, only find 3-5 new good starters and be stuck with an average roster again.

88Commanders00 03-08-2026 12:39 PM

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

I expect us to use at least 70-80% of available cap space, during this free agency period. Just because Jayden can get that extension next year; shouldn’t limit us.

WCommandersfan99 03-08-2026 04:20 PM

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

I think people need to give AP the benefit of the doubt last year. Injuries especially to JD5 were this team's downfall more than anything. AP has not been perfect but quite solid and had this team 1 game from the Super Bowl his 1st year. A defensive upgrade and a consistently healthy team is what this team needs more than anything.

I hope we break the bank to get Linderbaum. A pro-bowl caliber, and durable C (only missed two games for the Ravens), is arguably the second most important position on offense behind QB. Second move I’d make is extending Tunsil. We need to shore up our O-line. With Paul likely gone, LG also becomes a need.

John Keim says they won't go after Linderbaum but will bring 'somebody' in to compete with Allegretti. We'll see...

Re: 2026 NFL Free Agency Thread

Tunsil is about to be the highest paid offensive lineman in NFL history, they are already paying Cosmi $17 million. I read if Washington pays Linderbaum they will have by far the most cap space committed to the OL in the league. With a defense this bad that is not going to happen.

But I share the concern, I have no idea what they are doing with the OL. They tried Coleman at LG and they really wanted it to work, he was outplayed by a guy they no longer even want. We already know Alegretti sucks and he is slated to be the starting center.

$25 million a year is too much for a center imo. Especially with all the holes commanders have
