Not at all... Trevor Booker is a beast, Nick Young will only get better and JaVale McGee has potential to dominate (if he can get his head on straight).

Your Sixers may be in the playoffs, but personnel-wise you guys have as much trash as the Wiz... you just have more experience. And you better hope Iggy doesn't bounce- your team is old! Holliday is the only guy on Philly I like (even though he's a Bruin). Not feeling Evan Turner.

this kind of crap is whats wrong with the wizards and why damn near the whole team HAS to go. all they are doing now is ruining young players with the lack of and piss poor leadership. the mentality of this teams is a complete joke and a very very sad joke at that. i'm not a huge basketball fan but why would i or anyone want to support a shitty ass team that can't even support themselves. what a bunch of f-ing losers.

This team confuses me. Right now I see a lot of good young players. Crawford, Young, McGee, Wall. Even Booker looks good as a role player. Still what do they need to add to continue their development? We all know Wall is going to be a Derrick Rose type player but what do we add in the draft.

Right now the NBA Draft Lotto machine says we'll go for the following

If we pick at 4 we get the Turkish big man/Kentucky student deemed ineligible in Enes Kanter. A physical 6'10 Center that apparently has decent range. ESPN compares him to Andrew Bogut, who is one of the more under appreciated big men in the league.

If we pick at 5 ESPN says we'll take Jonas Valanciunas from Lithuania. Another physical big man that likes to throw the body around.

If we pick at 1, 2, or 3 then the ESPN lotto machine gives us Derrick Williams. An athletic 3 that's learning more and more ways to score. Williams compares to Thaddeus Young and David West who are both the type of guys you want on your team, but not exactly the type of guys that can take you from the cellar to the penthouse.

Personally I want to lean towards adding a physical big man, but as the Durrant-Oden draft showed us you have to take the best player available.

Also I knew someone was missing besides Sullinger when I wrote this post and I was bummed to find out that possible Kevin Garnett clone Perry Jones is staying at Baylor. Here's to hoping we can muster up one more top 5 pick in next years draft before becoming competitive.

Battie, Brand, Daniels, Kapono, Nocioni, Songaila = old. That's half your team... now if we're looking at a squad like the Lakers, Spurs or Celtics that's a bit different- they're actually built to win a championship. The Sixers aren't getting past the first round (second if they're lucky).

The Wiz may have the fourth worst record in the league this season, but they've got a franchise player, young legs (who improved by leaps throughout the season) and a top pick in this year's draft (albeit, a weak draft). The Wizards new FO understood this season was an evaluation year... You tell me- who's got the better outlook in a five year plan?

Are you mad that they were happy after a loss? Or the fact that Flip sat the starters in the 4th quarter? If it's the former, I can't argue much with that... just remember that the entire team is comprised of really young players (the veterans are injured, save for Mo Evans). They also just completed a very good stretch of games to end the season- winning a lot more than losing the last few weeks. Considering the team was playing rookies and d-league call-ups major minutes, I'd give the squad a pass on their positive outlook after losing to Cleveland.

If you're mad that Flip didn't try to win the game against the Cavs, that's another story... That loss last night was crucial for lotto balls- the chances of getting a top 4 pick would have dropped precipitously had they beaten the Cavs. Wiz would have been in a three way tie for the fourth-worst record (since Jersey and Sacramento lost).

I'll take Williams, ftw. I think he's ready to contribute right away and the Wiz would fight for a playoff spot next season if he's on the team. I also like Kanter, from what I've seen of his Youtube clips. Josh Harrelson's improvement is attributed to practicing against Kanter at UK- he said Kanter's the best he'd see during the college season, so it was much easier to face opposing centers during games.

I'm a bit scared of Harrison Barnes, though... he reminds me of Marvin Williams a little. Not sure if he's got that killer instinct/drive to take over. Derrick Williams has that nasty streak.

Brand is the only one of the " old" guys that log any minutes. the sixers are definitely on the way up. can you say that about your team? you dont have one big man that could make another NBA roster. i wouldnt take anyone on your team other then Wall

Then you're crazy. McGee is a legit center in the NBA. I guarantee you every team in the league would like to have a McGee. He isn't by any stretch elite but he is a good piece on any team.

The emergence of Wall, Booker, Crawford, McGee, and Young is extremely encouraging. Im excited for the first time in bout 5-6 years. It going to be interesting on the decision with Nick Young....how many here want to keep him? I say yes, but I think Leonis is not gonna give him a huge contract

leonsis did show young a little love on his recent blog, refered to him as the most improved player. i would like to see young stay, he Wall and crawford present a formidable trio at the guard position. young can (when the wizards go small) play the three which to some extent increases his value.

next season depending on who is here, the young players that saw a great deal of playing time this year may see their roles reduced, how well they adjust will be important.

it just seems like it's the same story at the end of each year now, it always ends with "promise". i just am a firm beleiver that the wiz have the worst mentality you could possibly have at this point. when the young players come in they seem promising and are frustrated with being on a losing team. then fast forward a year or two and their laughing and making fun new rookies after they make a mistake in a loss. to me that seems like a vicious cycle. the team just doesn't seem to have a winning personality and are content with losing.

i think a whole hell of a lot has to do with flip being the coach. he strikes me as a coach that can take a team to the next level, not build a young team from the ground up. and to his credit he wasn't brought here to bring up a new team he was brought here to coach "the big three" and win with them.

i'm not a huge bball, but to me it seems like this team is just chasing it's tail and needs new leadership in the front office, on the sideline, and in the looker room.

The Wizards need to draft Derrick Williams and sign a few vets and they should be alright for the future.
