Didn't Banks fumble a return?
Yes he did. I'm as wowed as anyone by his speed, elusiveness, and just overall explosiveness. But that was the second time he put the ball on the ground in the preseason (first was a muffed punt against Buffalo) and I find that reason for concern. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
overall another up and down performance. grossman really wows you and then he does stupid shit that makes you realize why he's not a starter.
also i have to admit that so far i was wrong on galloway. he's been getting open and can still run at 38. did thomas even play at wr last night? run d was not good. greene is a bull in between the tackles. very strong inside runner. good to see albert shows some signs of life dhall continues to be our best playmaker on defense. mark sanzhez will get benched at some point this season. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
I missed most of the game, so how the hell did LT get that much yardage in such an efficient manner?
I'm not surprised about what I hear about Galloway. Creating separation is about route running and not showing your intentions, and as I have said, unless he's totally senile and decrepit, he likely hasn't forgotten about running routes and he still has a little speed left. |

This from AH:
"We talked a little bit more tonight. I think I saved his life from getting hit in the head with the ball," Haynesworth said. "I'm going over to dinner at his house, probably tonight. Gonna sit and have a cigar and talk."
I totally missed this.... what did AH swat a ball away that was headed for MS? |

I thought he was on target and very quick with his reads. One thing I'm seeing from both McNabb and Grossman compared to past quarterbacks is boldness and efficiency in intermediate range passing. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
Never thought I would say this but I think we would be ok with Grossman starting a game or two if he has to. His knowledge of the offense really shows right now. And I think he's matured a bit as a player.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
yeah other then the fumbled snap, grossman is def. a great backup. one of the better backups in the league.

Yeah he mishandled the snap, but at least he was smart enough to kick it out of the endzone instead of risking the Jets falling on it for TD. Everyone needs to keep in mind this was our backup playing against the league's #1 D. I have been very pleased with Rex so far this preseason. He'll be a very suitable #2 QB for us. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
LOL! Just defending against misinformation. Trust me there have been times I felt their treatment is off and I let them know. But for the most part, the pro-cowboys, anti-skins mentality just doesn't exist.
Anyhow, back to the game. I was hoping Young or Davis would step up and maybe knock Sellers off the roster. Doesn't look likely now
I was just giving you a hard time. Our running game so far has not been very impressive and our run D has not been that great against the run. The D has played great when it counted and even though they give up some big playes they have been making some big plays. If I'm correct the first team D has only given up like 12 points in the three games they have been on the field. I also think Austin has made the team and Moss is going to have a big year. It makes a hugh dif. whenthe QB lets the ball go instead of holding on and second guessing what they are doing. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
QB is not one of my concerns at all. It is a shame that Beck or Bartel are going to be cut. Both did nice last night. I hope Austin makes the final roster. We really need some new blood at WR. An WR corp of Austin Armstrong Moss Thomas Galloway would be rather productive.

Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
I thought we held our own and then some against the paper planes. We definitely have some areas to address, like stopping the run and getting our running game going. However, I would imagine the Jets feel a tad more panicked than we do at the moment.

I agree about the panicked part. Thing is, if it weren't for Rex Ryan, their expectations would be a lot more tempered. His bloated mouth is writing checks his team can't cash. I can't stand the guy and I hope that team falls flat on it's face. |
Re: Redskins vs. Jets Preseason game 3 - Gameday Thread
When we start making our cuts, IMO teams will be grabbing our OF cuts just to learn our OF especially since we have been vanilla last nite we put a few sprinkles on top but for the most part vanilla.
