Not pissed off at the fans. I mean how many times can I say fans can and often are dumb when it comes to sports. Even I can be, and it's what being a fan is about in many regards. Management does not have the luxury to be that way
But you do agree that the Skins management under Snyder has often appeared to be exactly that way, right?

Do you think it has gotten any better this time around, or are we in for more of the same?
i feel like i am getting the socratic method here.

you have a lot more knowledge and answers than me.

i always thought Allen did contracts and didnt do the drafting and player evaluating in Tampa. I assume from your comment that he did.

but what has Bruce Allen done to make him a qualified player evaluator?

1st round picks of micheal clayton, carnell williams and gaines adams do not look so great in hind sight. his later rounds dont look great either.

this past FA offseason when he was fully in control for us doesnt look so great. lauvau as a day one priority? porter 4.5 mil per? all the concerns that kept other teams away from hatcher came true .. why didnt we give them the same weight?

why should fans not be disappointed that we have not been told any specific plans to improve on the way our roster is assembled?

if allen really has been a player evaluator for all these years, yes then i would let him have another go at it this year.

But if he hasnt been doing that, then we need to bring in someone who does and can. he had this past year to play GM and he failed to address major issues with this roster that came back to bite us during games and are still issues today.

do you trust bruce allen's ability to evaluate talent? is there no one else better avialable?
I don't care what the title is but I want one person in charge of the business of the franchise-stadium operations, marketing, advertising/sponsorship deals, etc and another in charge of football operations. Allen is better suited to fill the role of the former. For the latter, I want someone who's had experience scouting, putting together a draft board, even playing/coaching at the highest level if possible.

Mike Shanahan is an idiot.
Good luck Frisco, your QB can stay on the field with a blown out knee.

I pretty stunned anyone would even interview Shanny after his run here.

I feel the same. I guess some folks just blame Snyder for the poo-in-the-fan fiasco.

Mike is a good coach I really believe that.

I understand wanting a "Real GM" The danger in just saying that is, we said we wanted that back in 2009. And Snyder said "here you go, Bruce Allen. He's a General Manager with a Super Bowl ring!" And many of us, myself included, got suckered by the label

I wasn't impressed with what Allen did with the Raiders or the Bucs. The Raider team that he put together was the Over the Hill Gang all over again. The Bucs team that won the Super Bowl was put together by Tony Dungy. Not once was I excited about Bruce coming to town. We need a GM with a real vision. That is something we don't have here at the moment.

^its all about structure and clear understanding of roles and responsibilities. I mean, Ive never worked in an nfl organization, but it seems like your breakdown makes sense and my expectation of would be most nfl org would run like that example. Bruce absorbing both was foolish. I'm surprised Dan would actually allow it. Strange. But I also worry about other folks in Dan ear as well who apparently have a voice who clearly shouldn't. What we need is someone in the org who refuses those other voices and opinions.

Good for you. I didn't expect Allen to be a great personnel guy, but I expected him to lead the organization better than he has

Bro, have you not seen the type of winning he has done off the field?
