we are the Dallas 2020 defense, just let everyone score on us. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
So is the "you build the trenches first" approach outdated?
Seems like it .. to a degree. Teams are getting the ball out quicker and quicker. Weve seen our O line change various personnel over the past few years but I dont see any appreciable drop off from Schweitzer to Scherff. Schweitzer and Lucas had great PFF grades Sunday. |

Also CB over DE as well, it's a proven case with our team. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
We need to go get Tuggy Watson from the Texans

At this point seriously he will fit right in the culture and it at least give us some hope at QB. When you have no options left in the NFL WFT is the last stop. |

Ron today "Taylor needs to be more aggressive and that's what we hope to see going forward"
That doesn't sound like a man looking for another QB |
I actually don't remember seeing him play without mistakes. They just weren't caught by the other team.
He was pretty damn flawless against the Super Bowl Champs last year and has had a couple good games this year. Point was he should be progressing but like almost everyone else under this regime he is regressing. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
Hyperbole or are you being serious? Because Logan Thomas came out of nowhere here, McLaurin has become a legit #1 WR, Gibson made a nice transition from college WR to NFL RB, and McKissic has been extremely productive here, just to name a few.
TH is a nice story, he's definitely shown he belongs in the NFL, just not as a starter. His lack of arm strength and inaccuracy at times are proving to be significant limitations.
There are always going to be studs that just get it. There are others who need to be taught. |

ok... Do you think TH is some sort of stud being held back right now? All the teaching in the world isn't going to give him a better arm. |

That doesn't sound like a man looking for another QB
Sounds like a HC who doesnt like the film he is seeing of his QB not seeing and throwing guys who are open down field. The TV feed its hard to tell .. but most film breakdowns show TH is just not seeing and throwing to open guys down field. he holds, clutches then its check down or scramble. When he does throw it down field, it seems like pre nsap he told himself he was going to throw it to receiver X no matter what. If Heinike doesnt distribute the ball, holds it too much .. hes not starting the second half. Hes starting to get to the end of his rope. |

IMO. Watson is elite enough to even overcome our crappy defense, and has the skills to run Turner's offense. |
Re: Taylor Effing Heinicke
I'd sell the farm for Watson and that includes Young, Sweat, Payne, whatever.

Before the season I would have bet the farm and all the picks in the world for: - Wilson - Rodgers - Watson (pre-tugging) I would have also made Dak the highest paid QB ever if Jerry would have been dumb enough to let him walk. |
