Years? It's his first full season, still gotta give him the benefit of the doubt for now. He still played a good game. He'll learn from this.

I hope we don't hear too much blame on the coaches after this one. Not when you have 6 turnovers.

Re: Redskins at Bucs game thread

Fuck this team. Yeah, Campbell screwed things up again trying to make a comeback just like he's done all season, but we never would have been IN that shitty position if we hadn't turned the ball over SIX TIMES.

This team has a long way to go. We're not playoff material right now, and IF we made it in (by some miracle) we don't belong with any of the real contenders. Until this team learns to show up on a regular basis and compete as a unit, we're doomed to endure this game in and game out.

Everyone can take their optimism and shove it up their ass - this season is finished.

I don't wanna hear another report about Campbell crying though. Come on. I'm glad he's passionate about the game but crying don't win games.

Sure he will, and the Skins will rebound to go undefeated for the rest of the season, just have some faith in Joe you buckaroos, for he will right the ship.....eventually.

this might sound crazy but...

maybe the Redskins should think about switching to Mark Brunell or Todd Collins in a situation within the 20 yard line like that and with the gameclock as it was..

They both are veterans with experience and Jason Campbell can't seem to get it done when we NEED it..

I agree...esp. when you consider Moss's hands have been made of stone most of the game....

No this is what I expect from Jason Campbell in his first full year... this is the pros, when the game is on the line, the great veteran players will step up and make plays to win the game and the young guys are going to choke and learn... i still think we're an 8-8 team and nothing will change that... we are what we are... or should i say "we are who we thought we were" :)

Sarcasm noted.

We were 5-6 a couple years ago and went on to win 5 straight and make the playoffs. Remember that.

I wanna hear the post game. Campbell usually does an interview after game. After blowing a game 2 weeks in a row, in the same fashion, do you think he'll actually do the interview? I know if I was him, I sure wouldn't.

if portis dresses up at any point from here on out for an interview, or of someone else makes t-shirts, or any other gimmicks, someone needs to get thier asses kicked, this team is the definition of pathetic.

was just about to say that.. no way was it gibbs or any other coach's calls, it was the players who turned the ball over.... 3 by Campbell 2 by Portis and 1 by Moss. Kennan McCardell and Reche Caldwell looked like decent pickups if you ask me.

I'll admit I was one of the ones who said it was a "better loss" last week.

This loss blows. It blows, it sucks, it's disgraceful and embarassing.

Romo has been in the league for 5 years now, JC has 3 years. There's no use in comparing the two.

Re: Redskins at Bucs game thread

Like I said before, we can make the playoffs with only 9 wins. That means we NEED to go 4-1...that is very doable.
It may seem bleek now, but it can be done. We must stop GIVING games away though.

EternalEnigma21 11-25-2007 04:12 PM

Re: Redskins at Bucs game thread

the only coaching decision i didnt like turned out to be the big one. instead of going for it in the redzone, if they had taken the three, we could've easily scored 2 more field goals to tie it up...

i know if ifs and buts were candy and nuts, but I was pretty disappointed about leaving the 3 on the field... even before we didn't get it... the other 2 calls to go for it i understood and supported, but oh well...

I guess we'll be playing one game at a time and enjoying redskin games just for the games themselves... no pressure of playoffs...

It happens. I'm amazed by how tied up all of you are in this team. I love the redskins too and have visited this website for years and no every single person on the roster, but I don't go ape shit just because Jason Campbell threw 2 interceptions. He brought us back. Thank god he put us in the position in the first place.

I get the feeling that it would have been better if he just sucked the whole game and didn't even bring the team back.

Chicago's next week. Do you guys think we actually have a chance against them? Even though we don't have a shot at the playoffs now unless some kinda freak miracle happens? I'm pretty scared of the Vikes too. They spanked the Giants and the Giants are a helluva lot better than we are.

The other thing that kills me is that Tampa plays a similar defense to us with the Cover 2, the corners usually sit at home, both INTs JC threw made it look like he's never seen a Cover 2 before....obviously his fault on the throws....but what the hell are Lazor and Saunders teaching him to key on?

It all depends on which team shows up, and that's turning into a complete crapshoot and guessing game. Will the team that dominated Detroit show up? Or will it be the team who gift wrapped a must-win game with six turnovers and handed it to Tampa Bay?

Your guess is as good as mine. The most aggravating thing about this season and many others is that we have the POTENTIAL. If we played like we OUGHT to play we'd be one of the best.

This schizophrenic team identity makes predicting anything impossible, and makes hoping for playoff spot an exercise in nothing but faith and good feelings since there's no consistent metric on which to base anything.

How can I say it?

Simple math, 5 is greater than 3.
