So educate me. Some people are saying 'there is still a shot at the division'. With the line up ahead of us, how realisitic is that or are we shooting for a wildcard? Or is it to early for any of that?
Well we need for the Giants to lose, but that doesn't happen. I mean we need for teams like the Eagles or Cowboys to beat the Giants, and we need to beat them as well....but I doubt that's going to happen. Unless we get a clean bill of health and there's a f'ing miracle on the offense. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Seeing all those Steelers fans in our home, it just makes me sick to my stomach.
We were also the last team in and lose within the first two rounds. If you're a top 5 team in the league, you are expected to do better than that.
Hey we gotta start somewhere If we get in that will be 3 outta 4 years, And we can start being a contender year in and year out. Win some lose some, This team is young and it seems not to be able to handle the big emotional swing like not the Kendall fumble that should've been at least 3 or the not getting a touchdown on that first possesion against detroit and that going down to the wire, Or Los not catching the pick six that may have won us the game. We got a ways to go but this is just the beginning. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Finally the sick feeling/fear we have had in the back of our minds has reared it's head. We really aren't that good..
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Lmao at Earthquake2689.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Well, we still haven't taken the big step of being able to put up points against a good defense.

They're going to push him hard after the bye and if he can't cut it, he gets IR. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
I wouldn't be writing any playoff tickets yet. We've got a LOT of work to do. People are getting a book on Zorn now and it won't be easy. Now we'll see what kind of coach Zorn is--here's some adversity for ya!
I like the team and I think they can be a good one. But they have to bounce back after the bye. It's a long year. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
I think we are good. It's just the Steelers D is better. We aren't a superbowl team though. Playoffs perhaps...
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
What a fucking mess. Ugh, disgusting. We better figure out how to score some damn touchdowns or there won't be any playoffs this year. That game was basically a shutout. Pitt gave us the 6 pts early with the onsides kick and the pick. Most disgusted I've felt in a while.
LVP (Least Valuable Players) Devin Thomas- ok, so Moss is out and you show us... absolutely... nothing. Great job. Oline- Really, blocking, its still legal. Secondary- How about covering someone (anyone?) on third down. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
How would the cowpokes winning been nice. then they would be tied with us, and talking lots of ...... We just have to win an easier schedule then the Giants have.
They are now a win and a half ahead of us. Had they lost, we would have still a half a game behind them. Yes we have to win, but we are also chasing the Giants. Well given our offense right now, that is very unlikely even if the Giants lose. |

MAYBE a wildcard. We need to make some adjustments. We're nowhere near the Giants right now. |

Wow. 30000 steelers fans. That's shameful. We got pwned in our house, on and off the field.

Or is it to early for any of that?
Please don't listen to the pessimists. The Giants and Eagles both have tough schedules and will most likely lose a few. We get several softer teams. So we should win more. The biggest challenge will be when we play the Giants again, we HAVE to win that, to keep a shot for the Tiebreakers. As for a wildcard, if we keep winning we will get that. Bottom line is we need to win all of our division and conference games without question, and root for the other division teams to beat themselves up. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
I would have preferred Ben in there remember back in 2006 Leftwich carved us up as well, didnt prepare for him, 2 plays changed the game the PI on Rogers and the dropped pick 6 by Rogers but we need to let it go and move on and start preparing for Dallas in 2 weeks.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Hopefully, Zorn learns a lot from this one. He's really had difficulty against teams with a good pass rush. Oh, and that 4th down call was horrible.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
You know there are a lot of Steelers fans in these parts. I, for one am one, when they aren't playing the Redskins/When the Steelers are in the playoffs.

That was an embarrassment. What happened to homefield advantage? Sickening. |

I agree completely. I've heard to many times from different media types and some players how the fans in DC are so great. There are a lot of great and smart fans of the skins. The problem is that the majority of them don't own season tickets. To many people in the DC area see season tickets as a money making option. That is why there was 30,000 Pitt fans in DC. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Oh yeah and not for nothing look at the stats our D is outstanding I mean no matter how good you are your gonna get tired if your always out there, Without some fluky plays and that damn punt-block, if the offense could've gotten maybe a couple 1st downs the D might've pitched a shutout.

Apparently it didn't work tonite, nor did it work against the Rams. |

Our defense is always looking great, but you can only ask so much when they keep going to the field b/c our offense can't move the chains to save their life. |

It doesn't surprise me. The average butt in the seat at FedEx is a casual fan at best. Not many crazies there. Too many seats. Too many corporate ticket holders. The crowd is diluted. |

That ticked me off so bad. Why did we draft so heavy on WRs this year? We can't wind up like the Lions and do that every year, and we've seen nothing from our 2nd round talent. I really hope everyone's right about giving them time. |

and we won two of three of those, remember we beat Arizona Dallas Eagles... please don't make it sound like suddenly this team is out of the division hunt because we lost to an AFC team with the number 1 D. Its not true. We have lots of positive options. |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
The Steelers watched the Redskins Carolina preseason game and were like. "We are going to shit on them."
We are not capable of dealing with the 3-4 at the moment. the injuries also caught up to us tonight. |

I knew they couldn't keep up that intensity. If the offense could've just even killed the clock a bit to give them a breather, the game would've been different. |

Good night Fellas. It was a disaster tonight but we live to fight another day. Hail Redskins!

Hello, we've moved the chains against the cowboys et al. Geez get back to reality, |
Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Zorn just said Campbells headset was'nt working. Still I think they can get rid of the 4 wide 5 wide empty set, We can't protect like that.
Seems like we only get our asses handed to us on a national stage. (Giants,Steelers) If we make it to the super bowl maybe it should only be covered by radio lol. Anyways 6-3 isnt bad at all still in the thick of the wild card hunt
Guess that means we're looking at 6-4 now... our next game is SNF on NBC |

This team is entirely different without Santana Moss stretching the field. I hope he heals up during the bye week.

Re: Redskins vs. Steelers Gameday thread
Wow, I guess I was lucky tonight. A friend of mine had an extra ticket to see Coldplay, and I said what the heck. Great concert!!!!!!!! Obviosly I made the right choice. Looking at the game stats and the comments on here, it really was a dud. I am very glad I started Ryan instead of Campbell on my fantasy team. I had a feeling with all the attention on JC not throwing a pick that he wouldn't disappoint and throw some. Seems we still some ways to go til we are a real contender.
