Looks like Albert's half brother was killed in a motorcycle accident last night.
Your right he said he wanted to be the best Lineman to ever play the game. That sounded good when he signed his contract and when Synder was parading his prize free agent. Talk is cheap go so why not go to OTA's when you get a new HC and DC to learn the new scheme. If you want to be the best then you need to do everything posible to be the best. He is no where close to Reggie White, Brue Smith, Randy White, Dexter Manley, Charles Mann and so on. He is dreaming thus far but we will see if he is commited to stay here and be the best.:soapbox:
He never said he was close to the play of those guys you mentioned. He was wrong for not coming, he even admitted as much saying if he had it to do over he would have come to them. (during the espn interview) He seems to be ready to give it all he has. The last game against Philly, he really had a good game. He is saying that he is coming to all the stuff next year so we'll see. Right now, we dont have the luxory of sitting him if we expect to have a defense that is going to do what it is we want to do. He is our best lineman, and needs to be on the field. bottom line.

Right now it makes the most sense for the Texans to make a play for AH . They lost Ryans for the yr yesterday and their defense already sucks, they need help desperately. I think they might be willing to give up Jacoby jones and they would def part with Slaton

I'd take Okoye for AH.

Thank goodness tomorrow is the trading deadline. Stay or go, atleast the question won't hang around like the odor of bad eggs.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

Sitting AH last night could've been part of a trading strategy. Hate to say that his brother's death might help him & the team, but it was convenient that his last game was the best this year for him.

I agree that Houston makes sense given their defensive issues & they really need to make the playoffs this year. I won't be surprised by much at this point. Only thing that would shock me is if they trade him for only 4th round or lower picks.
I'd take Okoye for AH.
Heck yeah, I wanted us to draft Okoye that year.

That would be a huge risk for the Texans. I doub;t that we get an actual player in any deal for Albert...mid-round pick if we're lucky.

We was showing signs of productivity in the last couple of games he played in. We'd be better off keeping him and trying to use him, even if only in short-yardage and goal line.

Besides:
Redskins Executive Vice President/General Manager Bruce Allen told me Haynesworth is out tonight because he was gone for a week. Allen said the Redskins have never talked about trading Haynesworth and still are not. I asked him if Haynesworth will still be a member of the Redskins after the trading deadline and he said, “yes, he will still be a member

I'd take Slaton for him at this point. AH played very well against PHI but thats it.

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

Is Okoye even a big body, 3-4 nose tackle type? I don't want him if he can't play nose tackle. But I would love to have Jacoby Jones on our roster, talk about giving us a little depth you know? Don't want Steve Slaton though, for all his good plays the man has a fumbling problem. I saw at least one highlight from last season where he fumbled the ball right before crossing the goal line.

MTK 10-18-2010 03:08 PM

Re: Redskins and Titans talking trade again on Albert Haynesworth

Okoye is 6-2, 290 lbs. So no, he's not a NT type.

Just trade him to the Texans for Slaton and a 4th rounder already. The Skins can get a pick and a third down back who knows the offense well...

Yeah, a third down back with a major fumbling problem. Slaton would still be the starter if he knew how to carry a football. Thanks but no thanks, we'll get by with ATV and Williams and we'll be even better when Portis gets back.

I don't like Keiland, but seriously, do people forget that Shanahan almost always wants to find his RBs from the draft or UDFA pool?

Keiland looked good last nite .. what's not to like ? he's a rookie who can makes some plays ?? I always like Slaton, but seriously come on people .. Big Al will be here for the rest of the year, get his ass ready for the Bears and let's get to 4-3.

No one is going to mistake Keiland for someone who is actually a good and agile receiver out of the backfield like Chester Taylor. Hell, Betts was a better receiver than he is.

He did fumble a lot last year but some of this could be attributable to the neck injury he had which affected the way he could grip the ball. I think he only lost a couple of fumbles his rookie year. He's a high risk-high reward player similar to Brandon Banks. Slaton can take it to the house anytime he gets his hands on the ball. I think a change of scenery could benefit him too.

Guess I am biased though and like this guy since my Terps dropped the ball when they withdrew his scholarship before he went to WVU...

I would love to offer Albert Haynesworth to the raiders for RB Darren McFadden.

They are having a fire sale,so I wonder what his value is to them?
The guy has a lot of talent.

Can you imagine having McFadden and ATV as our future 1-2 punch? Daaaaayum!
McFadden is also a very good receiver out of the backfield.

One things for sure. He's a great receiver out of the backfield. Quite the poor mans Brian Westbrook.

Though I will say they probably won't trade a guy like Nnadmi for another DT when they already have Seymoure, Kelly, Lamarr Houston, and John Henderson. Plus they're still trying to figure oout the enigma that is the last guy we sent them. Thats right I just made a Rock Cartwright reference.

Ha... let it be known to never let anything past Al Davis. I think you'd have to give up some serious draft picks, though... Bailey went for Portis+2nd rounder, but Nnadmi would go for more in this market (Bailey clearly wanted out of DC).

I would much rather have Michael Bush, he would pound the ball like George Rogers/Stephen Davis. The guy is a beast and gets better with the more balls he carries. Oakland is not using him properly, the times they have he has run people over.
