Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
So I see people are giving up on our FO already. #cantfixstupid
|
Just worried about the direction and execution of our FO.
17 million to a no-name guard who struggled last year, but satisfied with Polumbus at RT? Moving Kory L to center makes the most sense of our Oline moves so far. Very questionable moves which doesnt show enough improvement in pass blocking. Just something to watch
Im happy with the FO. I do want them To address the oline in the draft though. |

Can't wait until "bring back Shanny" shows up on the threads. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Cant highlight an issue with the team and then question how its being approached?
Its a legit concern, my last sentence of the post saids "something to watch" not "for the FO to f*ck off" |

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I would imagine they are still on the market for a tackle after losing Donald Penn.
Yup. The pursuit of Penn indicates that we are rightfully not happy with Polumbus and will find a replacement. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Well said. Couldnt agree more with Griff being the number one priority. We could have 4 probowl wr's and who gives a shit if Griff is hurt again.
Edit: we gave up alot in the draft to get him but God forbid we spend a second round pick to protect him. Makes no sense. I dont care what wr is available - take the best rg, c, rt available.
Completely agree. Especially when you see what other teams (NE) can do with mediocre WR talent. I'm not saying Jay is Belichick but I'm not ruling out the possibility for him to have similar success with less expensive (draft or FA) players in the WR position. With our 2nd round pick we definitely can find a long term starter to bookend the line with Trent for the majority of RGIII's career. |

Seems like a good player. Maybe they'll keep Kory L. at guard? |

Hey Chico ... When you feel like you're getting all worked up about the maroon and black, Keep Medium. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Adding this center would be a 5 star free agent move if we can get him at value.

Guess Im just sensitive to 3-13....aka the worst season in the history of the franchise. And when I see my already injuried QB getting run over everytime he drops back its a concern. Glad to see a Center being brought in and actually is ranked as the second best center available behind some fat guy named Alex Mack. Seems like a good a visit. |

Hip hip hooray to that! |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
We clearly are working on overhauling the OL. Monty is already gone. We are doing our best to find a new center and RT. We are well on our way to having three or four new faces on the OL by opening day.
I still think that the Lauvao signing was less than optimal, but for those of us wishing for a new OL, it looks like we are getting our wish. |

He'd be a great signing. Joshua Morgan is getting interest from the desperate Panthers and the 49ers. You can have him. |

Value? I don't mind if we overpay him a little at this point. I say, put a very nice deal on the table and hand him a damn pen! Anytime we have a shot at signing a young (for a center) starter-quality O-Lineman, I don't want to see him get out of town without signing a contract. Anyone on our O-Line not named Trent can be replaced. |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Another lineman. This one a guard who can also play center.

Penn's deal with the Raidahs: 2 years, $9.6 mil., $4.2 mil. guaranteed.

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
De La Puente is solid. I guess Lichtensteiger moving to center isn't a lock, maybe more like a fallback plan. Good to see the FO is exploring all options.

Penn also has family in California. Also, how much should we pay for a right tackle? Is $4.8 mil./yr too much for a RT? |

Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
I prefer a homegrown RT. I say we trade down to the bottom of the second, add a third rounder, and then go OT, S, WR, WR. Then maybe some other guys at ILB or more lineman for competition. Big Bodies.

Well Broncos landed not just Talib but also did get Ware! At least Ware was a class act. In saying thank you to Dallas!

I agree about trading down, but would not take 2 WRs.... there are other positions that are more urgent.... G, TE, CB, and add 2 Safeties |
Re: Redskins Free Agents Signings Thread
Would like to see us draft James Hurst in the 4th or later rounds.
