Could be worse, your team might be doomed to be non-competitive with very few long term quality prospects and deadbeat ownership looking to bail.
Feels like it's been an eternity since the Nats were a contender, nowadays if they get quality pitching they can't score runs and vice versa. It makes me realize I never should've taken those good years for granted.
My thoughts exactly! If the Learner's do sell the Nationals, hopefully either Ted Leonsis or Jeff Bezos will buy the team and infuse them with some cash. Sent from my SM-G975U1 using Tapatalk |

Re: MLB thread
Max and Carrasco really working out for the Mets. I’m not trying to jinx it, but those 2 guys are the difference. Mets are .already .500 team without them, adding 2 quality starters puts them as a top 5 team in the game.
But can they pitch all year |
Re: MLB thread
I can't believe the Braves won a World Series with Brian Snitker. Dude manages like its 1982.
|
Re: MLB thread
Crazy thing is the Mets are on pace to win 106 games and deGrom hasn't pitched yet.
They're doing it with more than just pitching too. They can hit up and down the lineup. |

That would mean Nationals, Braves, and Mets all won a title in a span of 4 seasons. That can't be common. 3 teams from 1 division, winning a title within 4 seasons. |

Braves are on a roll. It's go time.
Acuna is a bad ass motherfucker. Acuna Matata. |

10 in a row. Only 5.5 games back.

Re: MLB thread
Braves 2.5 games back
They were 10 about a month ago I swear if Ian Anderson can start pitching consistently and not like Ian Anderson the flutiest of Jethro Tull…we could catch the Mets. My god, Anderson goes Full count every fucking hitter. That shit grinds my gears watching someone pitch like that |
Re: MLB thread
Yankees take game 1 in a 4 game set with Boston. Donaldson knocks a grand slam. Usually a good series even if teams have different seasons.

Re: MLB thread
Braves fucking suck in extra innings. Pisses me off so much.
Man on 3rd 1 out in the bottom of the 10th, so of course we strikeout so the guy has no chance of advancing. |

Gonna be a nice second half…I expect both to be a lil active at trade deadline. Braves may look for 2nd base help with Albies out and I would not be surprised at back end starter or middle relief. They may continue to try to dump Ozuna as well |

Re: MLB thread
Braves bullpen holds Nationals scoreless thru 3 extra innings, and the offense finally gets it done in the 12th. Pretty insane what it takes for Braves to win in extras, but they did it today.
1.5 back. This is going to be an exciting series against the Mets. A sweep, gets us to 1st. A series win gets us within .5. With a series loss, only down 2.5. Obviously would love a sweep or series win. But basically can't get swept. |

Mets kicked our asses today on the way out of town. Morton started off pretty bad this season, has been pretty decent lately, then was bad again today. We really need him to be good to have a chance to win the division. Now we both play cupcakes for the next 4 games. We have the Nats and Mets have the Cubs. Both teams should win 3 out of 4. But its baseball, so anything can happen. Side note - So awesome the Orioles are killing it right now. Cool for their fans. |

Could this be another subway series? Fuck, I hate the Yankees. They almost as bad as Cowboys fans
I wouldn't mind a Subway Series again. I'd root for the Mets to win that one. Rather that than: Astors vs. Any Other Team Yankees vs. Any Other Team Dodgers vs. Any Other Team Mets vs. Any Other Team A Subway Series is actually one of the better realistic options that doesn't involve the Braves, imo. |

That's a ton to part with. Think they will have to dial down their demands some for Soto to get it done, although he's a great player. Still don't feel he's on the Judge, Alvarez superstar level however. |
Re: MLB thread
I just hope the Lerners reach an agreement to sell the team soon. It's holding this entire thing up.
After so many failures to retain their star talent - I was hoping Soto would be the exception. Rizzo - for our eternal gratitude bringing a title to DC - failed to handle the Harper/Rendon situations appropriately, if they knew a year or two out resigning was unlikely to happen they should've traded them and restocked the farm system - which obviously has to happen here if we can't afford Soto. I still hope they resign Soto - they need a solid foundation for the rebuild and without him we're gonna have a very hard time attracting quality talent to sign with this team. Anyways I'm taking the long route of saying I hope the Lerners sell soon - obviously they don't want to pony up the cash it would take to retain Soto. But if we offer 500+ and Soto still turns us down? Sell to the highest bidder. I just want to see Soto be that homegrown HOF-quality player who spends his career with the Nats. |
Re: MLB thread
Really sux to see what’s happened to the Nats. Strasburg and Corbin…these guys look done.
My god, Stasburg is 35 million until 2027. |

Yankees are a bunch of useless dickfucks. They are now below the Astros on my 2022 hate scale. I hope any other team besides them wins the AL pennant.
No more subway series for me. Fuck them. Braves get to within .5 games then blink and back down 3. |

It's the Yankees fault they lost 2 of 2 to the Mets. And I resent them for it. |

Juan Soto AND Josh Bell traded to the Padres...basically for a whole lot of nothing. Nats are officially the worst team in the league now. 2019 World Series is long gone now.

I hate to say it but it's embarrassing. Traded away our last link to winning the Series 3 years ago. Sure some of those guys might be great someday, but all they are right now is potential. And I'm not sure I have faith in the Nats to develop that potential. The glory days are gone, that's for sure. It's fucking embarrassing that the Lerners have let all of our young talent walk - the only one they managed to retain was Strasburg, who signed at a discount and then renegotiated after the Series win and his contract has been killing us ever since. |
