https://www.latimes.com/california/story/2020-12-15/southern-california-icu-capacity-covid-19-surge

L.A. County has fewer than 100 ICU beds available, and the worst is yet to come, officials say

Intensive care unit beds across Southern California are plummeting to critical levels, with capacity falling to 1% in Ventura County and 0% in Riverside County while Los Angeles County — home to 10 million people — had fewer than 100 beds available.

People should pull up the California Covid chart on Google and see the surge since November 1...they are free fall. Right on Election Day is when you start to see the number rise substantially. Right at the heaviest early voting crowds...California is like 30k testing positive per day for like a week. 20-29 years old are the super spreaders, they are giving zero fucks. Maybe they should shut down air travel?

SD, SF, Jamf y’all stay safe...

Originally from Northern California and all of my family still is. I only see them once a year (during Christmas). And my parents twice a year. I was born in June, they usually come down for my birthday, but not this year. I flew up there in October without any hiccups, which I am very thankful for. But CA statewide is just getting absolutely pummeled with COVID right now and my mom has COPD.

So fucking torn on if I should fly up there or cancel it. I feel like an asshole if I go and an asshole if I don't. Feels like there is no right choice.

I'm an only child too, so my mom doesn't have any other children that can be there.

I'm supposed to leave Tuesday but am making a decision by tomorrow afternoon. Leaning towards canceling it and not pushing my family's luck on October already going well.

Yeah she has had a hell of a year. It is sad her mom (my step) and our sister, who is her best friend, have bought into conspiracy theories about the severity of the virus while she has told me she has had to put people into body bags because of this every shift since this began. I can't imagine the toll. Wish I lived near her to be of more social support. I know this is a huge relief to her her.

I'm more annoyed about the political elites, some that downplayed the virus all year being first in line to get the vaccine. Yeah I get it, the optics of leaders getting it is supposed to help encourage the masses to follow suit. Still annoying though.

Yeah, that's not why they're getting it though. They're getting it because they love themselves and think we just can't live without them. Our overlords must be protected immediately.

Vail resorts purchased the two closest snow hills nearby. They have initiated pretty decent protocols to avoid spread. Reservation required. Daily lockers unavailable etc. For the most part masks were up and used by everyone saw a few older teen boys and twenty something boys protecting their chins. Overall it felt safe although I did address it with the staff they need to enforce the mask in lift line policy their company instituted.

In it, he lays down a dirt-simple premise for a one-day revolution called (no surprise) Adjustment Day: For months, angry men from all across the country have been organizing, planning, recruiting like-minded companions to be the leaders of a new American nation. For months, they've been reading a mysterious book with a blue-black cover. They share it only with those they trust. They don't talk to outsiders.

These men have made a list of people who deserve to die — politicians, professors, journalists, scholars. The politically correct elite. The list lived on the internet and everyone was allowed to add names. Everyone was allowed to vote on their most hated. They called it "America's Least Wanted" and laughed about it on talk shows.

'Adjustment Day' ... is 'Fight Club' franchised. Gone national. Sick with all of our current ills and darkest, weirdest desires.

Only it wasn't a joke. Once the names were all collected and the list finalized, value was added to each name in accordance with how many votes it'd received. That value would translate to votes in these men's new American government. And the only way to collect?

Kill that person and bring in their ear.

Roughly 20% to 40% of the L.A. County’s front-line workers who were offered the vaccine declined to get the shot.

So many in Riverside County refused the vaccine — an estimated 50% — that officials met to strategize how best to distribute the unused doses

California's equity focus causing some vaccine delays, health secretary says

California Health and Human Services Secretary Dr. Mark Ghaly was peppered with questions about the state's COVID-19 vaccine rollout Tuesday, as many wondered why the state has only administered about a quarter of available doses.

25% of their stockpile? JFC...completely unacceptable. California vaccine rollout has an absolute failure to go along with their disaster covid strategy.
