In the spirit of our impending permanent name of Football Team, I think it's time we come up with a nickname for our stud defensive line.

My first two choices:

1a: The Defensive Line
1b: The Line of Defense

WFT sounds like Danny got high and was sitting around giggling and was like "what if... we just like... called it The Football Team lolololol"

I like warriors..works with the W on the helmet and pays homage to the military...the best of the best in this country

Probably already suggested but....Washington Warpath. Still a native american reference but not as inflammatory. Not sure if I even care anymore.

I have liked the redwolves for a while. I really would not like the Redtails name at all. At this point keep it WFT and tweak the graphics/logos a little with the extra time. We went thru the name change once already, not really in a hurry to do it again anymore.

Makes sense for Air Force to do that, pretty neat. Just not a name I would get excited about for this football team. I think redwolves you could argue can kinda remain with the native american theme we had for so long. Otherwise, just keep it Washington Football Team would be my vote. I'd almost just drop the team part of it and leave it Washington Football. I've also tried to wrap my head around the idea of the Washington Pigskins, of course still being called the skins, but can't really sell myself on that name either lol.

I wouldn't put too much stock into the logo based on a young NFL player's jewelry purchase. That was the logo in his historic rookie season where he won DPOY and Pro Bowl honors, and a division title. It'll always have personal meaning to him whether it's a one-year logo or not. Young guys with a big influx of cash do not always make sounds decisions.

I also think Jason Wright is a smart enough businessman to know better than to tell young players obsessed with Twitter accounts any inside info so it can be leaked before it's ready to go public.

One interesting challenge is that some of the best names such as, sarcasm aside, Washington Warriors, do not necessarily intuitively fit with the color scheme which they rightfully want to keep. Then you have squatters of the intellectual property who own most of the good names. Not as simple as it sounds to change name.

I think Snyder keeps no name as long as possible just to irritate the SJWs and thumb his nose at them.

Warriors to me is just so plain and generic.

While i'm not necessary "all aboard" the Redwolves train, it's at least unique and raises awareness for a dying breed.
