Asking a question here, What is the general opinion on Student Loan Debt around here?
I believe some debt should be relieved. Did anyone make me go to college? Of course not. But for years we've been led to believe that if you didn't pursue a higher education, your future earning potential was going to pale in comparison to someone who did go. So I got an MBA and piled up some nice debt. Granted it's a very low interest loan but still, it goes back to the question of why education costs so damn much to start with. I think we need more loan forgiveness programs. As a federal worker I've applied for some and the hoops you have to jump through are insane. I was denied a few years ago because I didn't have the right type of loans, but just recently I got an email saying I should apply again and now I can consolidate into a qualifying loan to get approved. If I'm approved and I've had 10 years of repayment status (I have) I can get my debt wiped out after 10 years of civil service. I'd be two years away from that. Fingers crossed since it's the only debt I have. |

A leftist was arrested trying to assassinate Justice Kavenaugh yesterday. I’m sure I’ll be told the abortion rights protests have been peaceful too. USA Today didn’t even run the story in the paper today about Kavenaugh attempted murder…It didn’t make the front page of the NYT, only a blip at bottom to refer to A-20. Does anyone honestly think if a right wing man was caught trying to kill Justice Sotomayor with a high profile case looming this would get the same treatment? Example 5 trillion why corporate media is rightfully called the enemy of the people. No front page story in Chicago Tribune and the LA Times did the same blip at the bottom to refer to back pages. Joe Biden doesn’t take questions at news conferences, refuses to interviews…he thinks he doesn’t have to answer for the multiple crisis he has directly lead us into.
But he will sit for Jimmy Kimmel and still look like an embarrassment. He’s unfit for office at this point and his poll numbers are worst than the previous administration. |

https://apnews.com/article/abortion-biden-entertainment-government-and-politics-ede6d0f3507caa9c4d69319b15542397 LOS ANGELES (AP) — There weren’t a lot of laughs, but President Joe Biden got some unsolicited advice from Jimmy Kimmel when the president sat down for his first in-person interview with a late-night host since taking office. The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” expressed frustration on Wednesday about the intractable problems in Washington, and he advised the president, “I think you need to start yelling at people.” Biden demurred, saying the country is still suffering from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic, but he insisted he’s “never been more optimistic in my life.” Kimmel swiftly interjected: “Why are you so optimistic? It makes no sense!” Biden said he was pinning his hopes on young people, the “best educated, least prejudiced, most giving generation in American history.” “This generation is going to change everything,” Biden said. “We just have to make sure we don’t give up.” |

Stealing this from Twitter: "We’re very sorry to hear about Brett Kavanaugh's current troubles. We offer our thoughts and prayers for the entire Kavanaugh family during this difficult period. Now is not the right time to have a policy debate, so let’s not politicize the issue." Alternative ideas: We need to limit the amount of exterior doors to Kavanaugh's home to say - 1. We also need to arm Kavanaugh's maid, or Kavanaugh himself. AR-15, shotgun, handgun - whatever they need to defend the property. But really, whatever we do - we can't take guns out of the hands of hardworking law-abiding citizens just because some nutjob liberal got his hands on one. |

Speaking of maga id love to hear from our resident Trumper how him sitting there watching the insurrection while ignoring the pleas for help was acceptable again? Cops being overrun and killed. Elected officials being hunted and threatened. Literally hiding for their lives and not a single phone call to any type of law enforcement or national guard from the President? Sat and watched it while he rooted for the mob. Waited to see what happened and when it didn’t go according to plan he told them to go home because and that he loved them? How the fuck do you defend that other than by calling it fake news or saying it was a false flag operation?
Holy shit. Dude orchestrated a failed coup attempt and it is a nothing burger? Holy shit again. |

Such as Biden energy policies have lead to greater gas prices and the much higher cost this past winter to heat homes. Inflation signs started last March, way before any wars…remember it’s transitory? Much like the gas prices rose way before Ukraine. Another reminder folks, Democrats have both houses congress and the Whitehouse. Also Bernie Sanders is budget committee chairman. |
