Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
I thought it was a solid game all around with the exception of the running attack. Yeah it started slow and I bitched about only Santana being a threat, but Armstrong came and did a nice job with getting those long balls also. D is frigging tight, no excuses anymore for stuff that happened vs Houston. We are looking better, but damn, what is with the red zone blues? Detroit on Halloween is worrying me though. Those guys have real weapons on O and a no name D that isn't that bad. I don't want to walk around Greektown and get razzed like last season after the game.

Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Wow. I think we may have a team here :)
I cant remember the last time we had a gutty win against a GOOD team. This is the stuff to build on. Also we won against an NFC team, that helps. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
What is the word on Trent Williams?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Our ability to protect McNabb is also a problem. Lichtenstieger has a real tough time with picking up the blitz,
|
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
You know it may look ugly at times, and we might think it's a sign of things to come, but as long as the score stays close we always will have a shot.
They showed a lot of resiliency today after getting dominated in the first half. I'm proud of this team because they didn't give up when it counted and we actually pulled off a come from behind victory for once. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Defense Defense Defense....wow they were incredible today
|
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
We are coming back from being behind and winning games that last year we would have been blown out. But lets keep it in perspective. There are still some things we need to improve on before we are a legit playoff team with a chance to win in the playoffs.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
If you gave up on this team today then shame on you
|
Re: Redskins
We are by far the luckiest team in the NFL this year. I hate to see players get hurt, but that was the only thing that saved us from getting blown out. But I'll take it.
|
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
What a great win! They did everything they had to do to win in the second half.
Hail to the Redskins! |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
had to DVR about 20 min in the second half so i just finished the game...YES!
i'm buying a landry jersey next week, dude is finally filling out his potential. he's turning out to be pretty much exactly what we expected *knocks on wood* we looked like garbo most of the game as per usual, but we scrapped this W out. proud of my boys today...and lmao @ gb! |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Of course the win is big, but this victory didn't give us any reason to think this team can be good. The O line looked aweful even with all the starters, our receiving corps really is as bad as advertised, the running game is non existant, and the defense gave up almost 500 yards to an offense missing a tackle, a starting and backup tight end, and a starting running back.

I hear you but stop being a Debbie Downer, let us enjoy the win for atleast 24 hours PLEASE!. |

give up 500yrds of offense all you want if it only leads to 13 pts I'm fine with that!

Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Yeah, I know they are injury plagued, but everyone had these guys(Packers) as SB contenders yet again. Indy doesn't scare me so bad. It is the shit teams like Detroit that are a threat. Detroit isn't so bad this year, and they do have bona fide threats on O and a half decent D. Stat wise the Colts really didn't dominate the Chiefs that badly. Shoot Manning didn't have a TD pass. We need to cure our red zone blues though, and soon. You can't count on us winning all of the "ugly" games.

13 points. The defense gave up 13 points. Above all this game proved that we can win close games. We lost somewhere between 7 and 9 games last year by less then 6 points last year and just proceeded to beat a team that was suppose to kill us. Quit kill-joying and enjoy the win. Let the players worry about improving. The win is for the fans. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Ok fellas lets not fool ourselves here, we got lucky and all of you know it. Mccant throw a pass got a pass on his bad performance and our running game was not what it should have been. The refs did not help as we watched orakpo got hooked play after play, and the Packs got help on the pass interference calls. We were given this game and it is a good thing but I cannot see a positive other than the D played well in the second half. Mcnabb threw for alot of yards but missed the big plays and looked foolish at times in the pocket. However we are now 3-2 and I cannot complain about a win even if we did not deserve it. Go get the Colts net week boys,:food-smil love ya.

Injuries are part of the game, and we have been on the receiving end of an injury plagued roster many a time. Every gameday situation is different, and a win is a win. Yeah a shitload of offense was given up, but only 13 points. Like with women, the object of the game is scoring not yardage. I rather have an defense that gave up the lowest points and/or the best turnover ratio than the defense that gave up the fewest yards anyday. |

Guys & Gals are really posting some good stuff today especially good one liners. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
I love how people are using the injury excuse. Last time I checked the roster has 53 players on it, not 11. Point being injuries are not an excuse at this level, it's a reality.
Oh, 3-0 in the conference looks pretty damn good from where I sit! |

Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
I think everybody realizes we have things to improve on, and we still aren't quite consistent, but this team made plays when it counted and refused to give up. You can't quite measure that, and no doubt this is a game we would've lost last season. We're obviously not there yet but we have seen flashes, and the fact that we made just enough plays to come back and win this game helps bigtime.

Matthews leaving the game was the main reason we started to put points on the board today. McNabb had NO time to throw and was getting killed until Matthews went out. You can call some of it luck, but we are also a very physical hardhitting team and we took out Vick with a good clean hit and several players have been hurt against us, Andre Johnson and several more today. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
I know this has been said before but I think it needs to be said again, I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.
HTTR. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
One thing the Redskins need to work on is penalties on special teams, seems that like after every return a penalty was committed that hurt field position.
The second, is to stop the run up the middle, has been killing the team all season long. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
Amen to that. We like to hit!

Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
A win is a win and this team is finding ways to win. The offense is terrible, no running game, the line stunk today, McNabb missed a ton of open guys..yet the defense stepped up and held down Green Bay. I think losing Finley killed them. Clay Matthews getting hurt REALLY helped.

Lions trounced the Rams.
We're alright, but we're not world beaters by any stretch. |
What's your deal. Can't enjoy a win?
We can enjoy the win, but some of us know that this had more to do with the Packers losing it more than us going out and winning it. BUT... we'll take it. Big win for us but let's not make it as though we dominated. |
Re: Redskins vs. Packers Week Five
I will take the W, we are now 3-2 (3-1 in the NFC; 2-0 in the NFC East). Defense came through and shut me up. I wish the offense would play two halves instead of just one.
