I agree completely but I think the fear comes from Shanny deciding to sit Cutler for like 6 or 7 games when he was a rookie. I would hope that Shanny would have in mind how quickly he envisions RG3 starting and tailoring the backup QB to that plan. At the end of the day I just want RG3 and I would still be happy if someone from this board was the backup.
Have you ever had something new show up, get designed, or whatever and everyone is talking about it to the point you are just sick of it. So sick of it your at the point you .... just don't want it? Thats where I'm at with RGIII now. I know he will be good and I'll be happy if the team gets him ... I guess. But I'm so tired of hearing how he's "the it". he's the knight in shinning armor. He's gunna make us winners. He has no flaws. He's the BEST. :vomit: |
All this Griffin talk makes me want to just hurry up and get a trade done. All this talk of the Browns and Rams talking is making me nervous, especially since we appear to be out of the Peyton talk.
But as far as the point goes, I agree with Matty. I think RG3 is bright and talented enough that he would be able to start from day one. I don't think he can learn the full playbook by the first game, but he should be able to learn enough to start and play the first game.
How are we out of the Peyton talk? I know what was reported yesterday but last night the person who's "opinion" started the whole rumor came out and said that it was his opinion not fact and that he has not heard that the Skins are out of the running. As far as I know we are still in the thick of things. ;) |

Hmmm, I'll agree with this IF they want to throw the draft for one player RGIII. If they don't then I see the Skins as being one of the better places for PM. We have the best defense of all the teams needing his services and we know defense wins championships. A tweek to our OL and WR weapons brought in with a decent QB and I can see this offense scoring even 1 more TD per game which would if not win the game have tied them giving the Skins a chance to win. and.... this team has the money and space to bring in the players he would like to surround himself with if he'd like. and thats why I see the Skins being a positive for him. I don't see Miami coming out next year going to the playoffs, nor do I see Arizona with their one good WR. |

I think we should just trade for Griffin now, cause I'm starting to feel like Manning won't go to either us, cleveland, or miami from what I'm hearing. Denver and Arizona are picking up some steam though |

According to NFL.com, if you go by total defense, the Redskins ranked 13th. Three of the top 5 defenses from 2011 (Houston, New York Jets, and San Francisco) have been rumored to be interested in Manning. Seattle and Kansas City, 9th and 11th, are also rumored to be interested. The lowest ranked defensive team rumored to be interested in Manning is Denver at 20. Really, when you rank the teams rumored to be interested, we are one of the WORST from 2011. Regarding your last, how on earth do you see the skins as more likely to go to the playoffs than either Miami or Arizona? Both teams have far more talent than we do. I'm not saying it wont work out that way, but you completely dismiss better teams. I think you are looking at this too much from a redskins fan perspective and not a realistic one. |

Their not. But do you understand when something starts irritating you enough that your just tired of it? reading the posts from some people here would lead you to believe he's our savior. When flaws are brought up there is no discussion it's simply over looked and not discussed so we don't have to think about them. Ok it's probably just me. At this point I'm almost hoping we get him to so the jock fest can stop. I just hope he doesn't severely let the fans down by not living up to their expectations. |

Hey guys. REALLY long time lurker, and first time poster. I kinda feel like I know some of you guys, even though I haven't been a member until now. I've been a Redskins fan since 1982, after watching my first NFL game, during my first season playing Pee-Wee football.
Like many of us long time fans, we remember the glory days, and feel the pain of a decade+ of ridiculous front office moves, revolving coaches, and overpaying for free agents just short of retirement. Every year, I clean the slate clean and have hope. I tell myself "This is the year we turn this around", without any logic behind it. Just blind faith. I'm feeling different this year. I'm feeling hopeful based on some logic. We have competent front office staff and coaches that just need more time to finishing cleaning house after the years Danny and Vinny destroying this team. This year, we have a chance to go get our franchise quaterback. This year, we have plent of cap room to go out and get the free agents we need to bring this team back to a powerhouse. This is the year of real hope for this team. Go get RG3. Go get a solid free agent WR like VJax or Bowe. Resign London. His character in the locker room alone is worth what he is asking. Just get it done, because this could be a real season of hope become reality, and the fans deserve it. OK, exiting my soapbox now. LOL Happy to be joining this great community. |

I think you are looking at this too much from a redskins fan perspective and not a realistic one.
I guess I can't argue stats. However I just think we seem to have played better. No different then the Patriots who gave up yards all season but were hard to score against... they tightened up in the red zone which we did. We held many teams to 20 or less points all season even the teams known to put up more then big scores. To me I don't see Miami's OL being any better then ours... or worse. Arizona doesn't have a ton of CAP room and only has 1 decent WR. Kolb also was rushed a lot. As was the QB in Miami. Denver might be the team in better shape but their CAP space is not as good as ours. The Jets might be able to sign PM but thats it. I'm looking at the overall picture. We have the CAP room for PM and his associates. We have a stingy defense. Our offense could have won us some games with a more accurate QB and better WR's. If our offense put up 10 more points per game we would have won most of our games which would have taken us into the playoffs. Perhaps I'm drinking from the cool aid but atleast from my perspective the team is not as far off as the media and some fans would like for everyone to believe. |
