I really can't believe you're still stuck on Putin's trying to influence the election. That's old news now. Everybody not named Trump or House Republicans agree he did.
Bear with me for a moment because I know this is nothing more than a mere concept to us non-Mueller investigators. But what if the real concern isn't Putin doing whatever he can to get Trump elected, but Trump's loans from Deutsche Bank coming from illegal money laundering out of Russia? What if Trump owed Russian oligarchs connected to Putin money? You don't think owing debt to any Putin-connected Russian would be a serious conflict of interest as POTUS? Seriously, ignore my theory if you must as I have nothing to back it up, but it's just starting to sound like you're tired of hearing Russia mentioned so you couldn't care less what they do, or who they did it with, or if there's any actual legit crimes there. Have you started thinking up an excuse for if/when Mueller completes the investigation and makes his recommendation to Congress? If you've ever watched any of those reality crime shows, it's a classic technique. Start at the bottom and keep flipping guys until you reach the guy at the top. Cohen is next. And as Trump's fixer, there really aren't that many guys left to flip.
First, i do think russia tried to influence our election. I think they have been trying to influence our elections for as long as i can remember. The DB angle is very plausible unfortunately, again the Soviets then, and russians now, certainly are not restrained from trying to blackmail or manipulate any one they can. I still do think the overall effect is overblown by the hate trump media. So i will wait and withhold judgement until all the cards are laid out. |

Here is an interesting article. https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/supreme-court-justices-get-more-liberal-as-they-get-older/ One that, I think, you could use to make the argument that it is better to start with a conservative nominee who gradually moves to center, then a liberal nominee who will go deeper to one side. That's not the main argument of the article, that's my opinion derived from it Wikipedia has an article with good pictures of how the SC has been composed over the course of our county. We have had a 7-2 split on the court one time and the country has survived. And in fact during 1970 - 80 the court was a conservative 6-3 or 7-2(around 1980), and our country turned several positive corners in those years. There is no historical precedent to say that a 6-3 court is dangerous, none. The funnier thing is that for this current nomination, we aren't even talking about making the court 6-3. Just moving it to a 5-4 where Roberts, who is just above neutral by the analytics, becomes the swing vote. from the wikipedia article Another thing that graph seems to show, is that the country periodically goes through these "rebalancing periods" because the Justices do tend to age more towards more liberal decisions. Pretty interesting studies for the 4th of July. |
Re: When is Enough ,Enough?
In that picture, the dark black line is the chief justice, the yellow highlight line represents the median balance of the court. And the balance historically has stayed between slight liberal to slight conservative, regardless of the makeup of the court. Which for me highlights the seriousness with which all the justices take their tasks of interpreting and protecting the constitutional framework of our country.

I will say we agree to disagree. We might disagree on Russia working hand in hand with Trump (I do believe Russia tried to run interference wherever possible with or without his blessing) but I don't find it far-fetched to believe that when most major banks wanted nothing to do with Trump based on his history of trying to screw others out of their end of a deal, he was able to find a willing player in Deutsche Bank/Russia. I don't think there's any way Trump got himself to where he is today by playing by the book. And that's why I have faith in the Mueller investigation. Even this latest revelation about making back channels via his personal cell phone as US President (which is ludicrous in its' own right) is par for the course for him. I think he's focused on maximizing his opportunities while in office, because he knows the investigation is going to find dirt (if they haven't found dirt from his business days already). And when that day comes his excuse is already pre-made. Deep-state actors like Mueller and co. have had it out for him from the beginning. |

Donald Trump’s tariffs on Chinese goods won’t touch Ivanka Trump’s foreign-made products for her fashion line. While Trump rails at Harley-Davidson motorcycles for moving some production to Europe to dodge EU tariffs, the first daughter and senior White House adviser has never manufactured a single product for her Ivanka Trump brand on American soil. Trump enacted tariffs Friday morning on $34 billion worth of Chinese goods, affecting hundreds of products from boats to medical devices and auto parts. Products spared include those manufactured by his daughter. That means Chengdu Kameido Shoes in Sichuan province can continue to supply shoes for the Ivanka Trump brand as it has in the past. It’s currently bidding for a new contract to manufacture 140,000 pairs of shoes for Trump’s company, a spokesman told The South China Morning Post. |

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/mueller-indicts-12-russian-intel-officers-hacking-democrats-163104637--abc-news-topstories.html Does anyone really believe we don't have the same department here doing that? The blame should fall directly on the DNC party for it's weak security on it's servers. It would be different if the Republican party had commissioned a foreign spy to get the material and put it into some sort of dossier in order to create bogus warrants against the nominee of the other party, oh wait that was what HRC & democrats did. The one true thing Strzok said yesterday, that is the Russians' operation succeeded beyond their wildest dreams. But the reason is because HRC and the Democratic Progressive party have been such sore losers. If, as in every other election, the country and parties had come together for governing, this whole debacle would have been a footnote in history. Instead, the liberals have succeeded in making Putin's wet dreams come true. |

From Rosenstein's announcement:
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein said the indictment does not name any American citizen, but told reporters that defendants "corresponded with several Americans during the course of the conspiracy through the internet." "There is no allegation in this indictment that any American citizen committed a crime," Rosenstein said at a news conference. "There is no allegation that the conspiracy altered the vote count or changed any election result."
(Emphasis mine) The timing of the release of this announcement continues to look like the Justice Department is in the political mode announcing this on Friday, letting the media wonks and G1 style fanatics have a weekend long terror fest demonizing Trump ahead of his meeting with Putin. Either Rosenstein and the DOJ is abysmally clueless, or they are part of the deep state that has worked unceasingly to damage this presidency and the US itself. I believe it's clearly the latter. |
