I read that and I can see that ,Jimmy G no at #12 he should be behnd Goeff and I think Eli should be around #23 ...I don't know what they (PFF)being under pressure but with no O line or receivers or run game I think he did fine.
Yeah Jimmy G is way too hyped up right now, he 7tds 5ints there is nothing special about that, the team won games but also beat teams that were out of the race for the most part too.. Eli did a good job IMO, he lost his best WRs and had no Run game just like KC. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I think with his shaky play down the stretch of the last two seasons combined with the trade and play of Garoppolo, emergence of Goff, and Keenum, plus this year's QB class, drop Kirk's value. Mid last year he probably could have got close to $30 mil a year from someone, I think that number is now dropped to around $25 mil, we will see.
I agree, but not because his play dropped. Even though Cousins (for good reason) does not like Allen, he could interpret a fair long term contract offer (signing bonus) as a sign of good faith that gives him the long term financial security he wants. Then he probably would drop his price to average $25M. Front load some guaranteed money, let it average out over the term of the contract. However as long as Allen and Snyder's egos are in play, this may never happen. For them it is the perception of winning in the public eye they always want. |

Eli was terrible this year

He was 5-0 this year as a starter on a team that was previously 1-10. That is quite an accomplishment no matter how you slice it. |

Have you watch him play? His decision making, accuracy and release are Brady like. Pretty impressive to come in mid-season absorb a new offense and win 5 in a row with 21 players on IR. |

Kirk in Denver would be a good fit too but that is all, just these 2 teams make the most sense.. NYJ? He is terrible at that stadium as we all know lol. AZ is on the decline and JAX says they are sticking w Bortles. |

He’s no Dak, put it this way the 49ers will pay him Stafford money. On the radio the other day former 49er tight end Brent Jones was happy they got Jimmy G., he thought what most people say about Cousins, he’s good but can he win the big one. I'm on the Cousins bandwagon and want him back. |

Dak did his on a pretty talented team with a great O-line and a dynamic running back. Jimmy G took over a 1-10 team that has glaring holes every where. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I would rather Draft a QB who is excited about being on the team and have a will to win, than overpay Cousins. I have been a big Cousins supporter since he was drafted, but i just cant get over his MO of not being able to win the big games at the big moments. plus i just don't think he truly wants to be a Redskin. i cant say i blame him after all the drama.
But i have gone to the side of the camp that believes the best way to win in this league in the future is going to be to continue to draft well, and that includes the qb position. |

Kirk always has the same lame duck response "we'll see where it goes" "I wanna be somewhere I'm wanted" Again avoiding the Q, or saying "Yes! I want to be a Redskin" He plays the safe card and says "I'd LIKE to build something here" That is the same thing all FA's say before they roll out. I think and assume 1. We all want Kirk back as fans. 2. BA and DS don't think Kirk is worth the big $ 3. Kirk doesn't really want to be here anymore due to those 2 fucktards. 4. Kirk will be in Denver next yr |

Garapolo and kyle will make a good team there, when the upgrade thru F/A nd the draft they will be a MUCH better team next year. Hell they almost beat us because of incompetant playcalling. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
A big question is, how much has this debacle set us back as a team? Did it prevent us from truly investing in a better option than Pryor? Or sign quality depth on both lines?
Is the lukewarm responses from Kirk demoralizing to a team trying to build chemistry? i see very few examples of a team succeeding when the QB isn't the true general on the field. The person that people want to follow into battle. Die by. I cant help but feel like the uncertainty with the cap, and his presence have really set us back more than people realize. So what is the dfference now? We rebuild with a 30 mil qb and try to figure out how to make it work or we rebuild with a rookie that is team friendly deal for the next 4 years. |

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Everyone should catch as many of the clips of him speaking as they can - don't read about what he said but actually watch his facial expressions, body language, and mannerisms as he speaks and reacts to the questions.
I come away knowing deep down that his heart is here and that he believes in the staff and the organization. It's incredibly comforting. I also come away unbelievably impressed by his perceptiveness. He can identify skill sets in people - the way he assesses Gruden's playcalling and gameplanning, McVay, Garcon, he is perceptive and insightful. All in all, if you watch it, I think you walk away knowing this guy is going to continue to get better and better and better. He may not be the playmaker like Wentz or Rodgers but he's so intelligent, self aware, humble, hard working and introspective that you know he's going to keep improving. And it's clear he doesn't want us to kill ourselves money wise. Just give him good guarantees. If he decides to leave, it won't be because of money, it will be because he feels at home somewhere else. And if that's the case it's a shame, but it is what it is, and godspeed and good luck. |

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I thought it was interesting how he pointed out the Steelers as an example of a team that has big money tied up in its' qb, other skill position players, and the defense, and how they're still successful. Just goes to show it's not impossible to build a team when you're paying a qb big money.

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
After Cousins little event today, I'm more optimistic about the organization, and it confirmed some things that I suspected:
1. It was Cousins that held things up last year, they did make a legit starting offer to him, and he knew what BA was going to say in the July press conference. The media had blown that whole story out of proportion. 2. Cousins has been shown that he's wanted here. The story line that they needed to evaluate him is from 2 damn years ago. We don't target high price free agents like Laveon Bell anymore. The bigger issue is why we keep drafting outside linebackers that suck. I'm still bitter we traded a pick to Dallas so they could get Demarcus Lawrence. |

No but you are aware the salary cap typically increases every year, which means down the road his salary will be more manageable. And we have Eric Schaffer on hand, who if you haven't noticed is fairly good at being able to get us the players that we want at the prices we can afford them at. |

If they are made to wait till March, he most likely will
test the FA market. I don’t think the skins put a 3rd tag on him. Washington Redskins' Kirk Cousins willing to wait until March for deal - Washington Redskins Blog- ESPN |

That's horse shit. I can't take this game of chicken anymore. If I was in charge I'd already have an offer on the table and he has until end of January to take it or leave it. February 1st he's either our qb or we're all watching film 24/7 of the qbs in the draft. But no, this team makes everything as dog shitty as possible. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
IMHO, I don't know how these things work, but it would seem to me that the only thing to for the Skins FO to do from here is to kiss Kirk's ass back a little, offer him a legit offer (25mil +) try again to start negotiations, if he doesn't bite you tell Kirk at the deadline, "we love you Kirk we want you here, what would it take for you to find a peace here, not just with money but with being a winning organization?" If he doesn't bite or asks for >28mil then say, "we understand you want to see what you're worth and where you feel a peace, we respect that, but I hope you can respect that, well, you're our plan for a future, and if you can't commit to us long term we need to protect our investment in you, so we will put you on the transition tag with the hope of signing you long-term and jeep trying, and you will then have the opportunity to look around and see what offers there are and if you feel this is really the right place for you, if you decide to stay we'll sign a long term deal, if you instead accept another teams offer, we will match it if it's at all possible and hope we can help you to find a peace here, but we want you to want to be here too, so if you want to go elsewhere we will help you work out a trade."

Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
Bruce should put the non-exclusive tag on Kirk and reach out to Denver for a trade for their 1st rounder.
Why would Denver do this? Because this is the only way they can get Kirk without cutting other key players. The Redskins can match any offer the Broncos create because of Denver's limited cap space. Why would Kirk do this? Because this is his best option to go to a potentially winning team. With the 5th pick we take Barkley, Josh Allen at 13. From there, I am signing Sam Bradford or Keenum on a 3-year deal. Use the added money in free agency to fix the LG, and defense. |
Re: Cousins Saga 4.0. Is he done in DC?
I'm good with anything the Skins decide to do with Kirk as long as this contract issue is resolved quickly.
What I don't want is for Kirk's potential contract to become a roadblock to signing Zac Brown and other FA's who will make the team better. Ideally, the Skins will make Kirk a solid offer and then proceed as if he will not be here next season, including meeting with FA QB's. If Kirk's side doesn't decide to negotiate and get a deal done before Keenum or some other QB signs here, then the Skins can simply rescind their offer to Kirk and move forward. At this point, the Skins management needs to get back in the driver's seat. |

Whoever is brought in here will not be the answer long-term. The rookie will be so I don't care who the vet is honestly. I would want the rookie to take over in the 2nd half of the season or win the job outright. |
