I also heard that rumor, they also said he will only sign if they get him a jumbo 747 complete with 200 hoes and a bar where every shelf is top shelf.

Which if 6 or 7 years would be around 30 million. The other thing that we have to remember is the money they get comes from us. Sent from my SM-G955W using Tapatalk
You don't have a clue as to where the money comes from. |

Don't think for a minute that they aren't squeezing every dime out of the television contracts regardless of what they pay any individual player, or even the players as a whole group. |
The money comes from tv contracts, stadium naming deals, and finally ticket sales. The money is from us fans only in a tertiary way at best and if the players didnt get their slotted share it would go back in the owners pockets, not ours.
Rodgers, for what he brings to his team is certainly worth 14% of a team's cap, in today's market. Cousins is not, though some team may risk it with him, I am glad it won't be the Skins.
We are the consumers who buy the products the advertisers are selling or pay the fees banks or insurance companies charge. Re: Redskins trade for Alex Smith
According to Cooley on his show this morning, Vikings have a standing 3 year 90 mil fully guaranteed offer on the table for Kirk.
He said he spoke to someone with knowledge of the offer at the combine this week. I think based on what Kirk and his agent have emphasized as priorities in the past, this may be right up his alley. Money, defense, weapons, run game, organizational stability. I can totally see this happening. |
Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith
Cousins to the Vikes makes too much sense, they’re built to win now and they can afford him.

Re: Redskins Trade for Alex Smith
One of the really good things about Alex is players won't be saying things like this anymore.
We*kind of felt like the commitment wasn’t there from Kirk,”*Hall said Tuesday on “SportsCenter”*in*the first of his multiple appearances as a guest analyst during a visit to ESPN headquarters. “We obviously wanted Kirk. We franchised him because we wanted him there. It was up to ownership and the front office to kind of work those numbers out. They couldn’t get the numbers worked out, so he signed franchise tags those two football seasons. Everybody in that locker room was behind Kirk, wanted him there, but we wanted to feel like he wanted to be there as well. Having played 14 years, I understand, ‘Let’s go get the money,’ but at some point there has to be mutual interest from both parties to want to get better collectively as a team. Paying Kirk probably the $30 million he’s going to get, we couldn’t do that and get better as a football team.” https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/dc-sports-bog/wp/2018/03/06/deangelo-hall-on-kirk-cousins-we-wanted-to-feel-like-he-wanted-to-be-there/ Team chemistry and trust is important to overall success. Smith 3rd here
With Smith not turning the ball over, this is a good thing for the Redskins. Although, I have always equated turnovers to you being in one camp or the other. One camp - you turn the ball because your accuracy sucks. The other camp - you turn the ball over because you're a gunslinger and you play aggressive - high risk, high reward aka Bret Favre. No one is going to confuse Alex Smith for Bret Favre, but I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some similarities to how Mark Brunell played for us. Mark didn't turn the ball over, Mark didn't have a strong arm, but he could move the ball. And at times, Mark could take off and run. Alex Smith is a better athlete than what Mark Brunell was, but I think like Brunell with Clinton Portis and Laddell Betts, Smith will have to rely on a strong running game. |
