Keim - The Bucs offered OJ Howard for Trent 2 months ago and it was turned down"
EDIT: Trent needs to pass a physical and that was the hangup WTF
I'm not sure how to react to that.. The situation with Williams is just a terrible mess that gets worse over time. Williams had a chance to get off from Redskins team and yet he didn't embrace it? Williams is in great shape, according to his agent, so I don't understand why Williams didn't take or pass the physical test. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Going back to last year Trent has been getting horrible guidance from his agent. He's lost out on a lot of money and his reputation has taken a big hit too.

Amen, Brother! A good agent could have made all the difference for Trent. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
It should have been turned down. OJH isn't nearly equivalent value for TW. Also, it is very doubtful that he would have been the answer for us at TE based on his ho-hum NFL performance so far.
Exactly. OJ Howard straight up for Trent Williams is a fleecing of the highest order. OJH hasn't shown anything in the NFL, and even his time at Bama is underwhelming. He's good enough for the all-airport team. And that's about it. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Source: Regarding LT Trent Williams: There's "an opportunity to have something done shortly." I'm told there's been "some really good constructive conversations" and there is "hope to get it done soon." My understanding is, it's a positive situation & the process is ongoing.
Yeah he's gone |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I hope we get pick #41 from Cleveland, at least. We could make good use of a high second round pick.

Yeah he's gone
Would love to see Seattle send that end of first round draft (no27) pick for Trent. Seattle wont have a chance at the top 4 Tackles. |

That would be a huge move for us |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Interesting note on the Trent Williams situation: The #Redskins have closed the window for Williams and his agent Vince Taylor to work our a trade, sources tell me and
@RapSheet . Teams often want full control of these situations heading into the draft and that’s the case here. Mike Garafolo |

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
But that team would only do so knowing they had a new contest agreement in place, right? Otherwise if a team did trade for him without have an agreement they would be taking an added risk and thus give less value to offset the risk.
I imagine we hopefully have 1-3 offers, for like a 3rd or 4th, and we can chose which one of the less than ideal offers to take. Just move him, RR wasn’t able to bring him back into the fold, there was never a new offer ... just move him imo. Unfortunate but sometimes sports turns into a soap opera. Not the first time, not the last time this will happen. |

It could mean that no team offered us what we want, so we're holding on to him. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Just saw that Dan Patrick said on his show Trent would be traded for a 1st. Not sure if he was reporting this or speculating (probably the later). I highly doubt that would happen, but just wanted to share.

Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Kinda strange/interesting. We’ve seen first hand two very different approaches to getting a good Ltd. one was what a player should do, one is what a player shouldn’t do. Kirk played it perfectly, Trent ... my man face palm

Yes, I was listening...this was according to one of his sources. If DP repeats on air, its usually fairly creditable. |

Stop it. After this year+ episode of misery and disgust at all parties involved (except for Rivera who was handed this shit sandwich) I am done getting my hopes up. Williams gets traded for a 4th rounder or the player equivalent sometime before Sunday. Anything more and I will be ecstatic. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Rumors it might be Seattle for their 27th pick no concrete sources just rumors.

I doubt it. If they wanted Trent, they could have gotten him with Dunbar and perhaps gotten them both for just the 27th. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
Right now just trade him for a couple cases of toilet paper and get it over with.

Just tell me it's not the store brand stuff. If we're gonna trade him for toilet paper, I want to feel that silky softness. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
There are definite discussions going on with the Cleveland Browns regarding trading Trent Williams.
Highly unlikely the Jets would be involved. Stay tuned folks. #httr #redskins #TrentWilliams |

@BurgundyBlog The following is a fringy, unconfirmed rumor, so take it FWIW. I'm told by a new source with a convincing connection to the #Browns that a trade for Trent Williams is "done," with #Redskins expected to receive a 3rd or 4th in 2020 and a 2nd in 2021.

Just saw that too, I guess that is a solid compensation |

I could live with this ... Picks next year, after RR has a year with this team, and considering how abbreviated the contact with this draft class has been for all teams, could prove to be better for us in the long run. And .. as has been said many times here ... we're looking at more than a one year turn around. |

Only sane deal on Twitter I’ve seen all night. Fanboys wilding out with some acid trip level theories about a trade. Glad when this is over. Hopefully imminently. |

A lot also trying to package #2 overall and Trent for pics. Garbage. |
Re: Trent Williams ends season-long holdout, rejoins Redskins
I’m guessing the 2021 2nd is conditional if Trent signs an extension with the Browns.

This is fantastic to me. The 2nd next year will be awesome. Make it happen. |
