https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/01/report-carson-wentz-will-rest-will-not-have-immediate-surgery/ Maybe he plays this season but who knows at this point. Indy also just signed Brett Hundley creating more competition. Think they are going to miss Rivers this year.
Sucks Kyle Allen tweaked his injured ankle a few days ago .. he might have been a trade candidate to get our 5th rounder back. Wentz -- Id guess its the good ole lisfranc injury. If he gets the surgery now, he might be back in 3 months. Real unfortunate career arc for this guy but his story isnt done writing itself yet. |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
That was fast. #Colts QB Carson Wentz will have surgery to repair his foot, per coach Frank Reich. He’s out up to 12 weeks, but could be much less. They will remove a bone in his foot.
RAPSHEET |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Legit question…does anyone here really care what Haskins does with the Steelers? I know I don’t.

If he does anything other than flame out in a year or two I'll be surprised. |

My question was gonna be, yeah he threw it over 20 yards downfield, but we’re they within 10 yards of a receiver? |

You always have to keep in mind you only flag what has an impact on the play (unless it's unsportsmanlike conduct and/or relative to players safety). So when a defender makes a shitty rip move and '"loses", the fact that he ends up "visually" being held doesn't erase the fact that the OL was making a legal block and the defender put himself in that position. The Olineman isn't supposed to let go just because the DL made a rip move. Now when it becomes a foul is if the OL drags the defender to the ground and/or keeps holding while the defender is past him. |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
That move is called The Kerrigan (the ref not calling it).
That man got cheated so many times. He would at minimum have 10 more sacks. Or a combination of sacks and holding calls. Probably more like a combo of 20 - 30. |

Comes with the territory. The Cowboys are going to win 15 games and the Superbowl again. How these people get on the hype train year after year when the Cowboys under achieve every year is mind boggling. Dak, Lamb, Zeke all Hall of Famers playing on the best team ever! …… [emoji1750] |

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
I love the mess the Iggles are creating for themselves.
They are now linked to a Watson trade, which I'm sure it is going to sour things with Jalen Hurts: https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/08/05/deshaun-watson-talks-between-eagles-and-texans-are-not-heating-up/ So they fire Pederson and get rid of Wentz, all to basically say they don't want Hurts as their QB? With so many legal troubles behind Watson, I doubt any team is going to pay the Texans' asking price. |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Source: Talks are heating up between #Eagles and #Texans on a Deshaun Watson trade. Still some hurdles to get over. But both sides attempting to come to an agreement.
https://twitter.com/ChrisTrapasso If this happens it would SUCK for the NFCE, He's a top 10 QB easily and in his prime |

Nah, let the Eagles pay that price. Watson would go a long way for them - if he can stay on the field. But I'd bet the price they pay would be too much. |

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
I checked out the Eagles cap situation. They have 16m room right now. Only 3 contracts above 10M, Cox by far the most at 23M cap hit.
but 2022 gets weird for them. -Slay goes from 6.6M in '21 to 22M in '22 - Hargrave goes from 5.7m in '21 to 17.8M in '22 - Brooks goes from 7 to 19 - L Johnson 11 to 15.7 https://overthecap.com/salary-cap/philadelphia-eagles/ ^^ and these arent deals they can easily get out of, lots of dead/guar money tied to them so they cant just cut them and be free Ive learned to never think a team will be in future cap hell, especially after watching the Saints make cap this offseason, but it doesnt look good for Eagles in 2022 cap wise. |
