They should have put Summo in charge. He’d have come up with something better in like 5 minutes. Sheesh - disappointing to me. Not a fan of any aspect of this.

I wonder if a new owner would come in and change it all - if ownership changed, of course. Would be rather comical for that to happen on a dime after all this.

It has already been pointed out that the logo is kind of wrong - it points to the year we won Superbowls, not the season (eg, 1992 instead of 1991). Amateur hour.

I bet there is nine million things that have to come in to consideration when designing the logo.

Its human nature to resist change, yes i wish we could be the Redskins but considering who is in charge this could have been way worst.

Now imagine Watson in this uniform and all the angry melts away.

I am usually negative Nancy but i kind of like all of it and i definitely wear a black Coms jersey with Way/Watson on the back.

I don’t quite agree - I think a change to a better name, logo and unis would have made me excited about this. The only thing I like about the unis is that the face mask is burgundy which is cool. But the rest is pretty boring.

Technically it's correct. It was the 91/92 season, but the game was played in 92, try googling 1992 Super Bowl and see what results come up.

People just being stupid and over the top picky about shit now. Those were the years they actually won the Super Bowl, so I don't see anything wrong with that at all. If they named the Super Bowls by the actual year, instead of in Roman Numeral order, that is exactly what they would be, just like the Pro Bowls...

The 2022 Pro Bowl is coming up, or should we be calling it the 2021 Pro Bowl, or the post-2021 Pro Bowl? No.

I know the year of course, but the convention has been to refer to the season - eg, we won the 1991 Super Bowl but went 9-7 in 1992. In any event, I’m just not a fan of the logo. I do like that the helmets seem a shade darker though.

It looks like the black helmets have a W in front. What’s on the side? I haven’t seen any images of that.

Well to be fair, this is a Washington Commanders forum, and this is Locker Room talk, and as a fan - having to watch my Redskins fade in the rear view mirror and to now be called something else, [I]is[/I] the worst thing I could have ever imagined for this team when I became a fan in 1982.

Maybe I'm too traumatized from the dumbfuckery I've seen in the Snyder era, that to me this seems such a minor thing compared to the major blunders this team and ownership have had.

Agreed. It sucks, but Redskins was dumped 2 years ago, and Commanders has been at the top of the rumor list for anyone willing to pay attention for the last few months.

I get it, initial reactions to any sort of significant change tend to be over the top and even absurd, mostly slanted to the negative side of things. In time the name will sound normal, and we'll get used to the uniforms too. A name or uniform isn't going to win us any games, so ultimately the thing that really matters in trying to build a winner hasn't changed at all.

I’m sure all of it was on purpose .. if they are that inept then we might as well throw in the towel ..the commanders were on of the names on the list and others were leaked to .. so if the commanders name was never ever shown in the video then it would be obvious.. Yeah, I'm not even that mad about it. I don't really like it, but it is what it is. I'm on board, just want them to win and become a respected franchise again. It's not going to happen overnight, if it happens at all, but I hope we're trending in the right direction.

WASHINGTON RIGGINS

-It would be 2 syllables, starting with an R. ("Hail to the Riggins" would still work).

-It would tie the team to its history

-It would be unique

-Not offensive (unless Riggins has done something I don't know about?)

-Fans would get a real kick out of it.
