A USFL team can have the same name as a NFL team. But a NFL team can't have the same name as Arkansas State who plays in the Sun Belt Conference in college. Most people can't name 2 teams there.

Yeah I said that from the beginning, for all the talk about Redwolves being a college team, they picked an actual AAF team name AND the exact same hashtag. This is beyond lame. But don't get me started again... I hard started to move on ^^

This feels like it's never going to end. The team never said the fans will pick the new name. They asked for input from fans, not a final decision. Acting like they didn't listen just because they went with something YOU didn't like is ridiculous.

I don't love the name either, frankly none of the options out there really spoke to me. I would have preferred to stick with WFT given the other options. But at this point it's water under the bridge. Either get on board or don't. Nobody is responsible for convincing you either way.

Now I'm willing to move forward with it, but if they keep coming up with shitty ideas like "pick the emoji hashflag" and "HTTC" and "TakeTheAAFHashtag", I reserve the right to bitch about how incompetent they are.

If a group of ten friends are picking where they go on vacation, 4 of them want to go to the Maldives Islands, 3 want to go to Lisboa, 2 to Chili... but the one guy that wanted to go to Estonia forces everybody to go there... Was Commanders even in the top 5? The name was definitely a fuck you to a majority of the fans. It's kind of a big deal since most of us will be rooting for this team the rest of our lives. Warrants lots of lamenting, especially when they dig the dirt back up with stupid emotions hastags.

LOL nobody is forcing a vacation on you or a name. You have the right to step away from both situations. In fact, the honorable thing to do is step away vs going along begrudgingly and complaining if things aren't exactly the way you want it every step of the way going forward.

I may be wrong but I feel like "going along begrudgingly and complaining if things aren't exactly the way you want" is not a fair accusation. I haven't posted about the name change in weeks, and before that I only did in the dedicated thread. I've been posting about many offseason and free agency related things, and been quite enthusiastic about the Wentz trade...
This hashtag thing surfaced in this thread and I voiced my opinion about it. If you think they did a great job with "HTTC" and "TakeCommand", great, but I don't see how criticizing this, or any aspect of the rebranding process, is un-sufferable to the point where it's "like it or be gone"...

Plenty of reasons for them to, 30 years now so I get it. But I just dont have the energy anymore.

Our owner sucks, our team has maybe 5 players that are worth watching and I respect Ron Rivera.

Give me my 7 win season and mid round draft pick ... and well stay in mediocracy literally forever.

That's the bottom line. Some fans still haven't gotten over how Snyder has destroyed every vestige of decency and credibility that this franchise once had. And, yes, every time poor Jason comes up with something to try to re-engage the fanbase, Snyder quashes it. I suspect that Snyder enjoys making Jason look like a liar and a fool. Don't think for one second that Snyder doesn't make every single decision in his domain without regard to his employees and the fans. So, fans like Frenchy who still give a damn about things realated to the Commanders other than the actual games fly off the handle when they recognize the s.o.s. coming out of the organization. It's a never-ending stream of b.o.h.i.c.a. as long as Snyder owns the team and they know it and hate it.

I try to think and care only about the football side and I try to ignore everything else about this f'd-up organization. I realize that all the bullshit is still there but I don't dwell on it.
