I would have loved to see that. I was the fastest guy on my team. I only ran a legit 4.45 in high school
Really? I would have expected more considering you can run 2 miles in a little over 10 minutes. Did you only practice longevity runs?
Woh...take it easy man...that is VERY hard to do you know. You're talking 3 minutes off your best time. That's a lot. I tried hard to get under 5 and couldn't. Of course, had I stopped focusing on building muscles, I could have, but women would rather have the body builder type than the marathon runner type. :D
Yes but I am 309 lbs right now and I run a 7:56. My fastest ever was 7:13 in 9th grade. But if I shed off 100 pounds I would get under 5 minutes.

Damn dude, that's quick for your size! Hey, we need a guard!!!! :D

I haven't been clocked in a loooong time, but I'd wager it would take close to 10 seconds now for me! lol.

You are assuming once again that I do not have muscle tone. I am not a skinny little punk. Think about other guys who are 5'11" and weigh 185-205. In fact look at a couple of NFL rosters and let me know. I swear if you say kicker its on!

He was he fastes player on our team but all he did was train in the forty. eberyday he would run it like 4-5 times. But I was in shape in HS, now I am not but if I did get back in shape i could get my 4.8 back.

Well there was this kicker that....................................

Fred Smoot, Carlos Rogers (and he is strong as hell for a corner), Shawn Springs. Laron Landry 6'0" 213lbs.

Portis was 5'11" and 212lbs and 205 when he came in and he is 223 now.

I'm not trying to rain on your parade, but you might not understand how tough that actually is.
More power to you, and I hope you could...but you should be proud of what you can do.
Being as big as you are...why not go out for the football team?

It is because I usually get such great starts. Then I dont look up for the first 20 yards or so. then I just push hard to the finish line.

For some reason it is not on my mind right now. If I can get back into serious shape, I will maybe try to walk on.

Two different types of running. A 4.45 is an outstanding 40 time btw. But I ran better @100 meters. Who knows what it would have become in college. If you don't use it you loose it. I joined the Army as a natural sprinter. It took me a year to learn how to run 2 miles at that pace. After that I couldn't sprint as fast anymore. There are different types of speed. Nowadays I cannot do either well anymore. Bad Left knee.

Noooo, that wasn't directed at you at all. I was just referring to me...I carried a lot of muscles with me which made it impossible for me to break that 5 minute mile...that's my only point.
Think about that for a second...I was 210-215 and 5'10"...so I was 1 inch shorter than you but a good 30 pounds more...trust me when i say it's tougher to carry that extra muscle when you're running a mile. I was a big guy.

Yes, I understand that. I just thought you'd be quicker. The majority of mine were in the 5.35-5.39 area, but my best was 5.29.
I completely understand that 4.45 is fast. Not dogging on it at all. It's impressive if you ask me.
