Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
So I've got 2 questions:
1. Will the NBA fine T-Wolves GM David Kahn for his comments basically implying the system has been rigged the past two years 2. Should this lottery news apply to a current 2010-2011 thread, since that NBA season isn't over yet...or to a new thread since the Wizards' 2010-2011 season is over
I am a big fan of the Boston Celtics and when they won it in 2008 I was happy but in my heart it was not the same as when they won in the 80's. Too me the present NBA is very WWE like. Much like Kahn said "isn't amazing how every year the NBA has some great storyline." I cheer for the Celtics still but in no way do I have the same passion for them as I do the Redskins, Bruins, or Red Sox; simply becasue I feel like the NBA is somewhat rigged. |

Awaiting word on David's Stern's comments. Coincidence or surprise that the Cavs' 2.8% ball won the top pick? Works great for the league with Cleveland's loss of LeBron. Today I'm all about Vesley.
[YT]DNV9Syn9yS4[/YT] I mean it's a crappy draft and we're picking 6th so might as well swing for the fences on an all out 6'11 hustler that can actually run the court with Wall. Oh yeah, he's pretty good on defense to, which is obviously something the Wizards can use. |

Man, they lose at everything. They are worthy of a top-3 pick. |
Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
Trade up to 2 to grab Williams (if the Cavs take Irving no. 1 and Minny's confident they can keep their big men) or 3 to nab Kanter (Utah can still get a remaining PG at 6, plus we can give them our second rounder and a perimeter scorer in Young or Craw). Keep our 18th pick- the value throughout the first round is pretty similar after the top 2 or 3 are gone.
If not, sign me up for some Biyombo at 6 and Faried at 18. |
Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
Today I'm feeling conservative. The Wizards need defensive players so today I want them to draft Kawhi Leonard, athletic small forward that can Guard 2's and 3's. Still improving his shot but the main reason you bring on someone like Leonard is to improve our atrocious defense. If he develops into Gerald Wallace more power to you.
That or find a way to package the 6th and 18th pick to move up to 2 and get Derrick Williams or Enis Kanter. Though they might be better off getting the defensive small forward at 6 and a sharpshooter at 18 to replace Young because behind Crawford and Wall they have virtually nothing in the back court. The bigs on the other hand are getting crowded with McGee, Blatche, Booker, Sepharin, and Lewis so I think the only way that really add another big is if they can find someone like Kanter who would hypothetically unseat Blatche as the starting 4. Still don't know what to think of the core. Wall and Crawford are obviously a great pair. McGee right now reminds me of Jokim Noah with a weaker motor (which isn't really an insult to McGee as few guys match Noah's effort), however someone teased me the other day by showing me how McGee's numbers through his first 3 years are remarkably similar to that of Howards. Sounds promising but I'm not sure McGee has Howards Basketball IQ. Then theres Blatche. Puts points on the boards but is a problem on defense. Hard to figure out if he's part of the problem or the solution. The real question is do they need to try and get another star or do they need role players that will be ready to compete when Wall, Crawford, and McGee hit their primes? I was already fooled last year because they looked decent on paper but Wall swears this team is going to be in the playoffs next season (whenever that may be). Part of me tries to see it like this. Wall = Rose Crawford = A rich mans Kyle Korver Leonard = A poor mans Loul Deng Blatche = Boozer (similar offensive production/rebounds and similar problems on D) McGee = Noah. Oh and one more thing. Please either switch the teams main logo to the DC hands or change the amount of red in the wizard. The color bleeds to much on that logo. |
Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
I predict the team will use up their draft picks on foreign players.

Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
NBA Finals is shaping up to be a hell of a contest. Rarely am I seeing these teams separated by more then 7 points and now the series is tied. Also amazing is the fact Dirk has 44 fourth quarter points while Lebron has 9.
Anyway Heat absolutely can't win this series. It'll be terrible for the NBA as I'm convinced that they will in fact win the next 6 or 7. If the Mavs win at least give the Wizards hope of one day competing for a championship. Would be a hell of a waste if we finally get a franchise player like Wall only to stick him in the middle of yet another NBA dynasty. Either way I've been a huge Dirk fan since 2003, and more recently a fan of Tyson Chandler, both as a player and person, so I wouldn't mind seeing those two get a ring. If only there was some way for them to do it without Jason Kidd. |
Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
Congrads to Mavs!
Is this the first time in history the Cup Finals have gone longer then the NBA finals? Seems it. |
Re: Washington Wizards 2010-2011 Ongoing Thread
So relieved that the Heat lost!
Besides rooting against LeBron and Bosh (I don't mind Wade), I was rooting for Dirk, Kidd (always been a big fan), Chandler and even the injured Caron Butler. J.J. Berea has emerged as a good PG...always great to see the short guys succeed. Congrats Mavs. |

Dirk just plays in a way thats so crazy you become glued to the set. I mean a 7 footer that moves around like him taking crazy shots that hit nothing but net is fun to watch. Kidd on the other hand, probably my least favourite guy in the game. All those stories about him being physically abusive towards his wife makes it hard to root for him. Ironic how my favourite and least favourite player are on the same team. |

A guy everyone in the organizatiion truly roots for because when so many others would just give up they keep pushing through with a smile on their face, and with complete respect for everyone Still pisses me off we passed on Chandler for Kwame |

Except, Chandler actually makes an impact with his play. :D
