The Lyndon Baines Johnson of the NFL? Interesting analogy. I like it |
You might as well be describing Tannehill, with one inconsequential difference
What, that Tannehill can swim? j/k, omg, Im such a bad person.......I'll send myself to bed tonite without supper, I promise..... Seriously though, RG3 is going to pack on some pounds, especially before his first NFl training camp, believe that. Whoever drafts him will get his athletic physique, and then slap 15 lbs on it right away on day one, no questions asked. He has elite speed, and another 15 lbs just for some strength and cushion wont take that away, he'd still be faster than almost every other qb in the league. People that say he is undersized and thin, well, he might be.......for the college version of the game. You'd have to believe that a guy with his intelligence that watches Mike Vick getting slammed with concussions each year, getting broken ribs every other game, etc......is gonna know that to exist and excel, he has to get a tad bit bigger. His size does not concern me one bit. He will still be a premium player day one, right out of the box. And if we draft him and he gets our line, his hits will be limited for 2 key reasons. #1 - Our line is not too shabby, and have some good young pieces that will only get better. #2 - Shanny will have a guy that can run his bootlegs and rollouts to perfection. Alot of times, I wouldnt be suprised if he pulls it down and turns on his jets to outrun the OLB shadowing him. Look, if we get this kid, the possibilities will be limitless, especially with him running this type of offense. Bootlegs and rollouts will be performed flawlessly, and we have the TE's and pass catching RB's with jets of their own to make big problems for defenses, just with rollout seam routes to the TE or even screens to our RB's. |

Enough of the stereotypes Mechanix'. Let's draft RGIII just because he's black. |

Now you're getting it. Wait, what??? |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Four of the top-QBs selected in the 2011 draft were picked in the first half of the draft (Newton 1st, Locker 8th, Mallet 10th, and Ponder 12th overall). Andy Dalton followed being selected 35th overall, in the 2nd round. It seems like a shortage of "elite" talent to go around in this year's draft. Still, only a few teams will need to reach for a QB in the first round as they'll have prospects that play other positions rated higher on their draft boards. The Skins are in a good position to get one of the top three QB prospects having leverage to trade down from 6th overall since there is a perceived "dropoff" in talent when comparing Luck and Griffin III to fill in the blank.
Since when was Ryan Mallett drafted 10th overall? |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Guy just confused him with Gabbert.
I am glad we did not get that kid. We would have been worse off with him at QB and no Kerrigan. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
As far as RGIII being undersized he is bigger than both Vick and wait for it... Drew Brees. I bet alot of people thought he was to small to play in the NFL too, but he has broken passing records and won a SB. SO maybe size isn't all it is cracked up to be. Besides 6'2" and 215 is not that small.

Now you give him his 5 lbs back. |

Yes. He has resolved to make the NFL a Great Society. He also has plans for Vietnam... |

He's listed at 6-2 but I've heard he's barely over 6 feet. Guess we'll find out for certain at the combine. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
Guess so. I'll be honest his size does bother me.
Also TBH I don't know what to expect when we line up and play our next regular season game. As a Redskins fan I have never known us to have a franchise QB. Yes I was around back when we won the SBs but as we all know back then we did it with three different guys. SO I have no faith in the fact that we will get a franchise QB. Other than I guess Joey T and that was a long time ago, I have not seen the Skins with that kind of QB in the 33 years I have been alive. So with that said, if the FO feels there is a player like that available, then go out and get him because it would be nice to have a player like that on our team. |
Re: And with the 6th pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, the redskins select...........
#6 will belong to the Rams. We'll be drafting RGIII at #2.
