Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
I like this move, leaving no stone unturned. Reyes looks athletic, it will be interesting to see how he translate it on the field when hitting/tackling is live.. At worse, he will contribute something to the team a little more than T. Moss ever did.
I like getting TEs from the basketball side of sports. It seems to be a good crossover position in terms of find open spots, size matchups, and quick burst speed.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Interesting read ... another QB turned TE ... similar measurements to Logan Thomas.
With this guy, and the dude from Chili/hoopster at Tulane, maybe RR saw no need to keep Moss around. https://riggosrag.com/2021/04/13/washington-football-teams-next-breakout-te-may-already-roster/ |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Might be fantasy, but imagine these 2 work out as strong backups to/equivalent of Thomas. We might not need to draft a TE, leaving us free to use the picks on other needs. A 3 TE set with these guys might be a real boon in the red zone.

We can dream! |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Yeah, I bet they don't draft a TE. At least it is not a priority now with six on the roster. Some dudes that are pretty green at the position, but if they can coach 'em up - could be a good group.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
This tidbit about our Chilean TE is encouraging ....
https://twitter.com/thorku/status/1379836018065465348?s=20 I have no idea how accurate these profiles are, but you gotta like a guy who scores higher than Kyle Pitts -- or any other TE - ever - for that matter. I guess I can see why RR didn't wait to sign him. |

Basically, he's a slower, stronger version of Montez Sweat? |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Worth pointing out, multiple teams were interested in signing Reyes but he chose the Skins as we were early in interest and the agent preferred Ron combined with our TE coach who has a solid history of developing TE talent

Sweat did OK with the ball in his hands last season :)

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
It it's Rubies or Rising I'll have a nervous breakdown. Some of the other names are pretty cool.

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
If that poll is by the WFT, my guess is they are simply winnowing out the least likely by putting warriors against a bunch of non-starters. Probably will see a slew of these and eventually get to some form of redwolves vs warriors.

That way Redskins still not replaced |
Maybe Mac Jones in the draft if he falls to the 2nd round (doubtful).
No way. A team would trade back up to bottom of 1st round to get him a 5th year, $30M savings when you consider current QB contracts. If he fell that far. If he was sitting untaken beginning of day 2, would be trade ups top of 2nd round. |

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Redvolves or Warriors or don't change. What happened to Redtails? I liked that one.
The WORST is Washington Capital City Football Club (CCFC). WTF at Wayfarers, Monarchs, Rubies and Rising. I'd rather stay Football Team than most of these choices. |
Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Just keep WFT if those are the options
Rubies? Swift? Capital City? WTF? |

I don't see any way they change it now, even if they "Picked one" it would piss off so many other fans... They will keep it WFT

Re: WFT's Off-Season Thread
Honestly nothing will replace Redskins... Redwolves, Warriors , Wolves etc are all dumb.
The Washington Football Team is clean and timeless, put the W on the helmet and call it done. |

It's almost like a permanent throwback identity and uniform. We just need to design some classic-looking uniforms to go with it...I vote for the 1932s WITH leather helmets. Ahh, found more! Red Hogs makes an apperance.
The 32 FCs. Demon Cats! Anchors! And according to this tweet, there's a 4th survey out there including: Aces First City Football Club (FCFC) Archers Beacons Belters Redtails Razorbacks Defenders Football Team https://twitter.com/Mike_Callow/status/1382458747356917766 So noticing a trend here on these survey lists. There's ONE good, "popular" choice on each. Redwolves, Warriors, Red Tails and Red Hogs aren't going up against each other. Football Team and Redtails are matched up though, so one will be going away. The competition for each are all garbage, ridiculous names with no hope of being accepted. I think we're seeing the strategic development of the final choices with the appearance of "listening to all fans who made a submission". |
There's no proof either way if the team is behind the surveys or not.
They may be behind it but regardless it isn't anymore than a winnowing tool for the large pool of names that are being floated around. It has very little bearing on the main names in consideration unless one of those oddball ones suddenly rise. In NCAA terms the final four are likely WFT, Warriors, Wolves( or redwolves) and then whichever cinderella name pops from surveys like that one.
