Jamf you know I love you…but you claim this while I sit here in Va whose previous Democrats state leaders:Gov Ralph Northam nickname was coonman in college and wore klan uniform/or black face in his Highschool year book picture, LT Gov Justin Fairfax was accused of rape at Duke and then sexual assault at the Dem Convention in Boston “he said it was consensual both accounts”, and AG also admitted to wearing blackface.

Here in the South, the Democrat party created the Jim Crows law, were segregationist and founded the KKK.

Our sitting President gave then eulogy to a KKK grand Cyclops funeral and just today pronounced Asian activist Karen Narasaki name: Karen “Nagasaki” at a news conference. Just imagine if Bigly did that…but what Trump did do was bring record low unemployment rates to minorities communities, signed a historic bill for HBCUs to receive yearly funding, and passed the first step act. He also would have signed the Tim Scott Police Reform bill, but racist, white supremacist Nancy Pelosi filibustered the bill.

This is an Atlantic article. Hard to believe they published this. I guess, I’ll have to be fairer to them in the future.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/money/markets/how-did-they-get-inflation-so-wrong/ar-AAYiYZJ

How Did They Get Inflation So Wrong?

Excerpt “…….Inflation hawks, in other words, were the proverbial boys who cried wolf. Their warnings that inflation was right around the corner were worthless because they always said that inflation was right around the corner. And the consensus among center-left economists—with the exceptions of Summers, and Olivier Blanchard and Jason Furman, two other liberal economists who warned in spring 2021 of inflationary risks—was that the risks attached to a further stimulus package were low and the potential benefits were high.

Was this wrong? Yes—but whether it was irresponsible is not obvious. Economic policy making, after all, is always a matter of balancing risks and rewards, and the potential for sustained high unemployment was very real. (Summers himself also said last year that “the dangers of doing too little are greater than the dangers of doing too much.” He just believed that $1.9 trillion was, as it were, much too much.) At this point, the contention that the stimulus package was bigger than it needed to be—or at least, could have been better directed—seems inarguable, but equally true is that it probably accounts for only a fraction of the current inflation rate. Europe, after all, did far less in the way of fiscal stimulus than the U.S., yet inflation within the European Union is now about as high…….”

If the $1.9 trillion Stimulus Bill was too much and led to disastrous inflation can you imagine what would have happened if the $3 trillion (or even worse the $6-7 trillion progressive wish list) Build Back Better bill was passed?

Are you guys still mad a Sinema and Manchin? It looks like they may have saved our asses from an economic catastrophe.

It’s really remarkable and at that time Janet Yellen stated “too go big” during negotiations. Her fat ass shoulda been fired last week.

Build back better would have sunk everything…honestly the so called experts were wrong. Even when stimulus was sent out to people who weren’t impacted by Covid…no one should have got that money. Should have been focused only to low income families only and then industry specific ie: travel & hospitality industry, restaurants, etc. Now that we could be facing recession…don’t except stimulus money, lever been pulled to much.

Re: Atlantic - I disagree it is usually fairly good writing but focuses on angles that favor the Democrats. They aren't as bad at omitting facts unfavorable to their position as the New York Times is and I haven't seen them set pejorative frameworks on stories which is also a common method the NYT uses. (A New York Times reporter once asked to interview me over " what I was going to do with all the my racist Redskins memorabilia now that the team dropped it's racist name."

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever

Here’s the problem we are facing short term in the economy now that the fed and the administration mishandled inflation and their energy policy:

American debt:

Last month, total consumer debt, which includes debt from credit cards, student loans and auto loans, went up $38 billion. In total, Americans now have $4.57 trillion in consumer debt, an all-time record.

The $38 billion increase was a 10.1% increase from March, so the situation is escalating quickly. When mortgage debt is added into the equation, American household debt sits at $15.8 trillion, which is also an all-time high.

Bottom Line: Americans have never been in more debt than they are now.

According to the Fed, Americans opened up 229 million new credit card accounts last quarter, which is higher than pre-pandemic levels.

Now the fed is raising interest rates fast as fuck:

And… because the Fed is raising interest rates in an attempt to slow down inflation, carrying a balance on a card month to month is going to start costing even more. For example, the average annual rate or APR on most credit cards is around 16% right now, but it’s expected to be 18% or 19% by the end of this year. That would be the highest rate in history.

As a result, Americans are saving less money each month. In April for example, the U.S. Savings rate fell to only 4.4%, the lowest mark since 2008.

Quite the problem

Another problem around debt and interest rates is the government's debt. The Fed has kept rates near 0 for so long in order to make national debt maintenance more palatable. As interest rates spike, the debt maintenance on our debt will consumer more of the national budget, which can increase inflationary pressures.

All in all, this economy is in for some serious bruises. And political blame games only deflects from taking the steps necessary to minimize the pain.

Well political decisions produced a lot of these consequences.

Rand Paul has put another plan to balance the budget in 5 years, maybe we should start focusing on that, instead of trying to invoke new spending to the tune of 2-6 trillion?

A couple positive still holding up in the economy…retail spending, low unemployment and value in homes.

I didn't follow this race that closely, but if she actually votes for what she says she supports, then I'm a wacko with her:

Pro-God: My Christian faith is a core part of who I am. My parents raised me to be a strong woman of faith and defending individuals religious liberties will always be a priority of mine.

Pro-Life: I will always fight for the unborn and advocate for pro-life policies in Washington.

Pro-Family: My family is the most important thing in my life. I was raised with strong family values and work to instill them in my own children. Family values are one thing that make our community in South Texas so special and strong.

Pro-America: America is the greatest country in the world and it has afforded me the life I have today. Through hard work anything is possible in America. I will ALWAYS put America first.

Pro-Second Amendment: The right to bear Arms is something I hold near and dear. Americans should always be able to protect themselves and their families. I will always fight for our second amendment rights.

Pro-Law Enforcement: I am married and a proud U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) wife. Law enforcement will always have a fierce advocate if I am elected to Congress.

Pro-Border Security: Illegal immigration encourages and funds human/child trafficking. I legally immigrated to America when I was six years old. Living in South Texas offers a unique perspective on illegal immigration and how it affects the livelihood of American citizens. We MUST secure our border to keep bad individuals out and to encourage LEGAL immigration.

Veterans: My goal is to fight for every veteran; to fix the current health and medical issues at the VA, to address the amount of homeless vets on the streets, to get additional funding and resources so they can over come any mental issues they face. I love all our men and women in uniform, both past and present.

Pro-Jobs: Texas is the economic engine of America because of its low regulation and pro-business mindset. Texans know that when you get the government out of the way and let the private sector create jobs, the economy will flourish. I am an advocate against socialism and will always promote capitalism.

Pro-Oil and Gas: The oil and gas industry is critical to the success of our State and Nation. The industry has been hit hard in recent years but I will always work to help the oil and gas industry and stand firm against radical policies that would undermine it

Pro-Affordable Healthcare: As a healthcare worker I speak to residents of CD 34 day in and day out and understand that having access to affordable healthcare is the most important issue facing residents of South Texas. In Congress I will always strive to improve our healthcare system and work to find solutions that will lower the cost of prescription medicine.

This doesn't look like a wacko to me. I didn't know she was hot until just looking up an image.

AOC is hot too. My ears bleed when I listen to her talk. But she is attractive. She needs to come over to the dark side.

If you're ok with ignoring the fact she has openly associated herself with Q, that's on you

If you're OK with ignoring everything positive about her story and its positive impact on our country because of some hashtags, that's on you. #diversity

Anyways, she is only completing a term through January, and will have to run again in a few months. That's a short turnaround to show your true colors once actually in office.

I am ok with dismissing anyone associating themselves to the total crock of shit that Q is.

You don't think that at the very least her character should be questioned? She's backing conspiracy theories and outright lies.

Re: The Most Fresh & Cordial Political Thread Ever

Here the Democrats AG in Michigan:

"Drag queens make everything better. Drag queens are fun," Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel says at a civil rights conference in Lansing while speaking out against what she describes as efforts to divide people.

"A drag queen for every school," she adds.

Democrats who are cool with grooming elementary school kids…what are those called? Maybe Blue Quaon?

Why are democrats so obsessed with drag queens and school children now? This is normal or something?
