Need a new beer for a party I'm throwing next week. Most of you know I am a Corona guy but I want something new. Ideas?
As far as Mexican beers, they are all a step up from Corona, maybe with the exception of Carta Blanca. Sol is pretty comparable to Corona, but better tasting. AW's suggestion of Pacifico Clara is a good one as well. Landshark is a corona-style beer, and it's one of my go-to beers in the Summer for drinkability. If you want to go in a different direction, check out a Belgian White like Hoegaarden, Allagash White, Ommegang Witte or Blue Moon/Shock Top (depending on budget). |
Re: Drunk Thread
Magic Hat #9 Not Quite Pale Ale. Damn good.
|
Re: Drunk Thread
I never got into Magic Hat #9, it's too fruity for me. But a lot of people seem to like it.
|
Re: Drunk Thread
Picked up celebration ale tonight.. haven't had it in four years or so... kinda wishing I had gone #9.. don't know why but I never feel like having more than one or two of any of SNs brews at a time
|
Re: Drunk Thread

Like many wives, it's solid, but goes down nice and easy. ;) |
Re: Drunk Thread
Landshark is definitely a good summer beer, hanging on the deck, maybe doing some grillin', damn can't wait for summer!

Re: Drunk Thread
You guys had any nice mild evenings yet up there? We just had our first couple this week.

Re: Drunk Thread

You may want to check out cruise critic lot good reviews on there in the boards section. I decided cruises are not for me but they do seem like a blast if that is your cup of tea. |

I have a case of Natty in my frig at all times. I have a buddy who drinks natty light because it says it good beer but I think its because he is cheap. So I keep it in my frig so he does not drink my wifes expensive beer. |
Re: Drunk Thread
Best on that list:
1. Yuengling 2. Bud bottle 3. Pabst 4. Bud Light 5. Coors Worst: 1. Natty Ice 2. Miller MGD 3. Schlitz 4. Natty Light 5. Olympia Honorable Horrible Mention: Rolling Rock Beast Red |

In college we would drive to the brewery and buy a case(always at least 20) of 16oz returnable longnecks for about 6 dollars ,the Narragansett brewery was only about 20 mins from the dorm. |

To be honest I only drank it when it was first reintroduced. I was too young to drink it back in the day but my buddies day seriously lived off it in the late 70's and early 80's. I think it was actually brewed in Cranston not Narragansett. |
