BECAUSE JC cannot audible at the right times.
Lets face it JC shines just enough to make some people think he is a good/great QB. I'd say just a notch below average at best. Some people here blame the WR's coach for their poor play but its reallly tough to tell when CJ is our starter. |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Ok, after reading all of the posts I have come up with this:
- Our defense sucks - Our O-line sucks - Our Qb and WR suck. - Our special teams sucks,,,,,,,(Can Rock see past the 25 yard line or is it just me.) - Our Coaching staff sucks. - Our owner sucks. WE ARE IN BIG TROUBLE SKINS FANS!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
I'm all for players being docked for their performance, but please don't defend the coaches. Our WR coach has not gotten any play out of his WR's except Moss and ARE, the blocking scheme sucks, Zorn play calling sucks cause he calls the worst plays at the wrong time because "other teams won't expect it." Whoever is evaluating O-line talent needs to be fired. Basically if I was DS I would move Cerrato to a contract roll executive position, bring in a true GM, allow the new GM to bring in good talent scouts to start the process for next yr, fire Zorn and replace with a WCO coach perhaps Sherm Lewis and allow him to bring in anyone he wants, fire Hixon, decide if Buges should stay or go, and hope for the best. Evaluate the team at the end of the season and if Sherm Lewis gets the ship somewhat righted then think about giving him another one yr deal, if the season is crappy as it appears it will be then shit can everything and "Rebuild".
I'd rather bring in russ grimm and blow up the coaching staff. Fire Vinny! Fire him and get a restraining order on him! Bring in a GM. Not nobody either. We need a big name GM. And then sit on this team for several years and see what happens. |

I wonder how much Dan Snyder spends on security?
He probably needs to be really careful making sure some nut job doesn't get a chance to snipe him. |
Shots down field? Did you watch the game JC didn't even have enough time to throw the slants and you think we can throw the ball down field. This game was lost by the O line.
As the O-line was awful. The one deep shot to DT was a catch able ball that has to be caught. The execution on the team from one end to the other is unbelievably poor. |

I'm not only blaiming the WR coach, but name me a QB that gets 10-15 seconds to throw the ball? So yes JC is part of the issue. I agree he's a good QB just not a great QB. and yes I agree with you that people will take some time and look at his "Stats" and find some reason to defend him. Even though his throws were most likely dump offs within 5-10 yrds which will pad his stats making him look great. but this is the WCO which is all about short passes and dump offs. So go figure. |

Although it should have been caught it's kinda hard when the defender is grabbing your ankles basically tackling you. The refs blew that call. It was interference. Even the announcers on the radio said it was interference. |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
doesn't lack of execution go to preparation and coaching?
|
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
It was both, lack of depth on the OL and the inability to stop the offense on the D.
Ok if you want to think that. If our O could score any points at all in a game we would be 4/1 maybe 5/0. I guess if you think that every D should play like the Ravens did back when they won the SB then you may have a point but to expect that is just crazy. Our D does their job pretty much every game but our O sucks. Yes they SUCK. |

I'm not disagreeing on the O, but our D has been getting us killed on 3rd down conversions all season long. |

I saw the play and it looked like a fine play by the corner. He was beat and if the ball was thrwn a little better it could have been a TD or long gain. Once again JC throws another long ball just off the mark. Wish I had $100 for everytime that happens but of course this loss is not his fault but everyone else on the O. |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
doesn't lack of execution go to preparation and coaching?
Which is part of why I blame the coach's. Piss poor planning equals piss poor performance. I think it all goes back to their skill level. Zorn has never been a OC or a HC, Sherm Smith has never been an NFL coach he came from the college ranks. Hixon came from the college ranks, I'm not sure who else but you probably could pick apart more staff members. |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
Until another QB can step in it's impossible to tell if it's JC. Personally, I feel a lot of it falls on him. I'm watching other QB's around the league and none of them hold on to the ball that long. They also extend the play and don't panic.
The offense today really only put up 3 points. 2 TD's were off turnovers in the redzone. |

D's will get burned on 3rd down conversions but they have done their job. The problem is that our O has not scored any points so when the D does get burned it has a greater effect on the out come of the game. |
Re: Redskins vs. Panthers Gameday Thread
At this point, I don't see how Vinny has any cred left. Everyone and their uncle knew we were weak at depth on the o-line. That was exposed badly today. And this half-assed WC offense is just not up to pro standards. Coaches, execution, players, whatever. It's broke. Tear it down. Get a GM. Etc. etc. etc.
Oy. |

I agree. Neither side of the ball is playing well. We expected the D to take up the slack with a developing O this year but it's just not happening. There is no favoritism. The O sucks. I just expected the D to play better this year and be able to stop drives better than last year. |

I'll agree it was over thrown. As usual. but even the announcers were shocked it was not pass interference, after the review they said the defender grabbed DT's legs on his way down prior to the ball arriving causing DT to fall down and miss the pass. |

I'll have to say I really did not watch it that close so I really cannot say much past it was over thrown. It was also a fine example of them setting up that play then failing to convert. |

Game was totally whack. We will probably win against KC, but they played the Boys tough and will want a win bad, so who knows. I thought we would win ugly again today, and look what happened. |

Oy.
Weak offensive line depth? I don't know about that now. I mean, we've only lost two starters in five weeks. And we have a back up tackle playing at guard right now. We just didn't have a back up guard on the roster! I wouldn't call that weak. I would call that bullcrud. Because thats what it is. |
So much for Gibbs' talent meter. He listened too much to Doug Williams about JC.
Yeah, but think about it. Do you really think that Doug Williams would have had anything negative to say about Jason Campbell? (Keep in mind where he coaches, what he looks like and prolly who he voted for in the last presidential election, LOL) Of course hes gonna support JC. Think about it. At least now we can can the problems and get the ship close to being righted by next season. Man what I would give to have an offense that puts up fireworks. With the Redskins, you expect Kinda like a Reggios chicago pizza, instead you have one of those frozen totinos pizzas. IT SUCKS. What a disappointment. |

Same ole Redskins story, written by the Larry w/nuts. Good, well at least an honest assessment.

Same old story. The defense played well enough for us to win. The offense was simply dreadful.

The reason for the losing has not and has never been about the coaches. But this team is poorly coached on top of it.
How is it(the team) different? The offense only scored a FG on its own without being nicely set up by the defense. No 100 yard rushing by Portis, JC didn't even hit 200 yards passing today. If anything happened it was regression. At least vs the Lions, JC put up monster stats and we could drive down the field. The defense did a decent job, but obviously not enough to win the game on its own. The playcalling is highly suspect, but to me the problem has always been systemic. What Zorn introduced worked great last year through the Lions game of '08, then all of a sudden our offense got stymied. The NFL has had 20 years to come up with proper defenses for the WCO, so once they analyzed the basic scheme of Zorny's creation it was downhill from there. Zorn in hindsight should have gradually introduced his scheme or make a hybrid of the WCO, combining it with the more conventional pro style. |
