Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Former #Jets coach Todd Bowles met with the #Redskins earlier this week, sources say. No specific role was discussed, I’m told. It was more about touching base and seeing where things stood for both sides. As @RapSheet has noted, Bowles is in play in Tampa for Arians’ DC.

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
The only way this team turns it around in 1 year is if ...
Alex comes back 100% and we get him weapons that can actually get open. The Defense decides to play great all year not for half of it. Guice is the next Todd Gurley (not likely) OL dominates with the return of BS and a new LG comes in. Other than that, this is going to be a BAD football team in 2019 |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
The skins need to call Marvin Lewis to come be the DC. That would be a great move

I wonder if we are asking about someone like Joe Woods because that is something someone like Todd Bowles wants. |

I doubt it. All signs point to Bowles in Tampa bay. He’d be playing with a coach he’s worked for before and have better job security given he’d be starting time as Arians. If he came here, it could be for just one year since Gruden is likely gone if things don’t turn around. And if the HC goes, everyone could go. Tampa bay was also even worse defensively this year, so expectations would also be lower there. Here, the skins are already a middle of the pack defense, so he’d basically have one year to really make this unit elite or he’d be out looking for a job again. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Per Reports
Torian Gray has been let go as DB Coach Now maybe Manusky isn't safe after all |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Once you start "talking to" other potential DCs, you might as well just go ahead and fire yours. Even if we don't want to make a long term commitment, just fire Manusky and promote Tomsula.

Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Torian was too much of a college coach and too much of a buddy to the guys he had coached at Tech. Would've been nice to have Bowles coaching the DBs for a year or two while he waits for another coordinator job either with the Redskins or elsewhere.

Why would bowles walk away from a DC position in Tampa bay to become a DBs coach in Washington? That’s like turning down an executive position with GE to Work the cash register at Sears. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
Why are people wanting Gregg Williams back? He’s a proven POS in case you forgot, this is the last thing this team needs with all the recent negative PR.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_Orleans_Saints_bounty_scandal
Gregg Williams did nothing that hasn't been going on in football for 50-60 years. It's a violent sport where the goal has always been to inflict harm on other men and impose your will. Some players are self motivated to do so, others respond well to incentive games. The incentives were minor and I agree that what was acceptable in the league 30 years ago doesn't fly today, but if you think Gregg Williams is a POS for it, you might want to revisit your opinion on just about everyone who played the game before it became PC. The Hall of Fame would likely be the Wall of Fame if you took everyone out who played the game a little dirty. |

But the Redskins weren't talking to him about being a DC, they gave him a place to go if he didn't get a DC opportunity. And unless you know something I don't, he hasn't been offered one yet. Even if it makes perfect sense to make him a DC in TB under Arians. |

I read it - but the idea that Bowles would not be a DC candidate anywhere is far fetched. I can’t imagine him not having a DC opportunity and having to settle for a DB Coach here or anywhere else, but maybe I’m wrong. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Really it is time to clean house. And really when Alex Smith went down for the year. Their season was doomed from there sadly.

We sitting here doing nothing except telling gray thanks for the memories. Front office full of retards and pussies
Other teams are making moves, but so far, other than Tampa Bay, i can’t really say that i really feel that the guys teams are hiring seem markedly better than the guys they’re replacing. In fact, I’d definitively say Arizona has downgraded and Green Bay has replaced a slightly above average coach with one who is boom or bust. I am frustrated with the lack of activity thus far, but I’d rather see us take our time and make the RIGHT moves than make moves for the sake of it. I think manusky needs to go, but not unless we know for a certainty we can land a coach who is a clear upgrade. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Craig Hoffman
@CraigHoffman · 5h As @MikeGarafolo said earlier, Torrian Gray is out with the #Redskins. As he hinted, it’s part of a much bigger house cleaning on that side of the ball. Final names aren’t known yet, but a source indicates the changes will be basically whole-sale. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

He is an older guy who has never been promoted beyond a position coach except for one disaster in SF. Admittedly, I am not knowledgeable enough about him to have an informed opinion but I think it's safe to say he isn't the next defensive prodigy on the NFL horizon. Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
The only quality guy that still may be out there is Gregg Williams. He is a proven DC that runs a 4-3 that can get instant results. I don't give a shit about all that bounty stuff. That's in the past. Actually I'd bring him in here and fire Gruden but that ain't happening, and neither is Williams coming here. One of the DC stations was saying that Snyder soured on him because in his interviews for the HC job he talked down about Gibbs.
If Manusky leaves then who is Gruden going to get? He's the kind of coach that will only hire coordinators that are inferior to him. That is why he hires scrubs like Joe Barry and Manusky but says no to Wade Phillips. |
Name I keep forgetting but think he looking for HC opportunities is Kris Richard. Id take him as D -Coordinator
The day after the wild card game, Richard interviewed with the Jets, Bucs and Dolphins. Three teams in one day. Those interviews can last from 6 to 8 hours. Just do not see how 'quality' those meetings were considering. It just may be that those 3 teams were looking to punch the 'Rooney Rule' ticket with him. Guess we will see. There are still 2 of those 3 teams that have a head coaching vacancy. If the job is anything other than a HC position, Jones will sweeten any pot or deal to keep Richard in Dallas. Unless he ends up being a HC, he is not going anywhere. |
Re: Time to clean house 1.0.
Richard will have a job as a HC next year, I bet its with Miami
