I was wondering why he is still on the market but it's like that for a reason.

Is Koren Robinson a FA? I saw his name on a FA list but I'm not sure. If he is, then that would be a good WR to bring in if we can afford him. He is tall and fast, could help push our rookies.

He would be great as long as we don't need him to catch anything

Are you freaking kidding me? Robinson is a bad locker room influence on Kelly and Thomas.
Always super talented but missing something upstairs and has had major alcohol issues in the past. No thanks. If we are gonna bring in an old vet try Holt or Harrison? But Id pass on them too unless it was very cheap or ARE or Moss were injured or something. Id rather bring in a hungry late round pick or F/A special teams kinda guy to take Thrash's spot

Isn't Harrison going on trial for shooting someone in Philly?

Yeah I forgot about gangster Marvin for a minute. Guess it shows you how much I am NOT wanting to bring in anyone at that spot. But yeah cross him off the list too...

My guess is that we will sign someone if we don't draft a good LB.

He's undersized, and he's 30. There's a reason why he stayed on the market so long.

The Bears really need to make a run at Torry Holt. Cutler will make the best out of what he's already got but in order to maximize his output they'll need a guy like Holt. Especially since they have no first round picks for the foreseeable future.

Perhaps, but I don't think Bears will though (I read an article about Bears wldn't take Holt at somewhere, I believe in nfl.com).. Perhaps they will draft Nicks from NC or Britt from Rutgers if they happen to fall to Bears.. Cutler has the arm to overthrow Hester (just like JC w/ Moss).. They will need true #2 wr to take some guys away from Hester if Bears wants Hester to make big plays..

I guess Dallas was too "clean" for him.

Cincinnati is doing a pretty nice job piecing together a core of young talent. Unfortunately for them, it's coming at a time when their vaunted passing game really, really needs to be kick started in order for them to compete in that division next year.

Tank has turned it around and I was hoping we would sign him instead of Haynesworth. His natural position is DT in a 4-3, not a 3-4 nose which he was playing in Dallas.

What would have happened if we signed him? How would Rock and him get along after the game in Dallas last year?

Re: 2009 Free Agents

We should forget free agents and concentrate on the draft. Does New England trade draft choices for players? Only when the deal is slanted heavily in their favor, such as giving up a 4th round pick for the best receiver in the NFL. The Redskins never learn, and Miami took advantage of Vinny and Snyder.

Ok one thing is to hate the front office, which all of us have at one point, but can we please stop with the cliche comparison to other teams? Randy Moss' character had as many question marks when he was traded to New England as much as T.O. It really wasn't "slanted heavily" in N.E.'s favor and the Pats were taking a big risk. I remember Skins fans were going nuts about the idea of the Redskins going after Moss, and a lot of people complimented Gibbs and the team for not taking him.

Yes, over-the-hill free agents...but they seem to be able to get more out of them and extend their careers....or they just choose more wisely.

I love that guy!! Great return man, smallish receiver who is quick as a cat. Would be a great replacement to Randle-El.

Same here. Clayton also mentioned this scenario on ESPN radio today. Clayton, Coleman and Green all agreed he would be a good fit for the Redskins and that he would be a great receiver out of the slot.

Lotus 04-18-2009 08:25 PM

Re: 2009 Free Agents

I respectfully disagree. Parrish is a talent as a returner, that is for sure. He is not a talent as a receiver, however. 35 catches is his career high. This is why Buffalo is willing to let him go - as a receiver he's a bust.

If we could get him cheap, then ok. If we give up a 5th or higher pick for a guy who does nothing but return kicks, then no thanks.

Please, the Redskins have moved on. At this point they could care less about players from the U not on their roster. These days it's all about USC.

All the returners in the world won't make any difference until the blocking ahead of him improves.

I think this will be a good deal for Jacksonville. They need receivers and Holt can help anyone new they bring in.
