Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

So I picked up NCAA a few days ago, and its cool and all but the no celebrations glitch is killing me.

I think it may by PS3 version only, but after scoring, the player drops the ball, walks away, and the camera stays locked on the ball. Sometimes pushing X doesn't even roll over the screen and the clock just runs down until you get a delay of game.

Must be a PS3 issue. I haven't experienced anything like that.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Seems like they are bringing back being able draft guys from NCAA in the new madden. That is awesome because that was always my favorite part of madden; pretending to be a GM.

The new NCAA is pretty good, except when the running back lays on top of a tackler in a very strange position for what feels like 5 seconds then just gets up and runs for a touchdown. Besides that they definetaly improved from what they had last year.

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

Im just wondering what took them so long to finally make playing the computer a challenge. QBs actually make good decisions. Though all the throwing the ball away gets old. Still, thumbs up, I'm actually really looking forward to Madden now.

Ok I finally finished it last night, the ending was definitely very well worth it. I've been reading up on it just to fill in the holes. Mindf**k to say the least.

So there's this little game out today called Grand Theft Auto V, not sure if anyone has heard of it. ;)

I just got it this morning, haven't had a chance to play it yet. Probably should have taken the day off. It's killing me.

Im hoping its good. I might trade in madden for it. It has received great reviews so far.

Make sure you have plenty of room on your hard drive. Disc 1 is a 8 gb install.

I may get it this afternoon.

Do you have to install it to play it?

Re: New Games on the Horizon (the video game thread)

There are reports that R* doesn't want people to do the 8gb install for the 360, apparently it's messing things up. I'm not sure what it is since I'm on PS3 but just check the internet before you do it.

Edit: I typed this post like 1/2 hr ago, just got around to hitting submit. You guys are on top of it.

I went to the midnight release last night and picked up my copy, and played it for an hour this morning before I went to bed. It's legit. The whole city feels alive in a way that IV wasn't. Sooooooo many cars, and car customization is back, along with weapon customization. So much variety in things to do, there's no way this isn't head and shoulders above IV. R* definitely did it right this time.

5 years in the making and a budget of $260M, it better be legit LOL

Seriously though Rockstar always knocks it out of the park.

Makes you wonder if they dragged out PS4 and Xbox 1 releases just because of this game.

It's a big day.

Can I download it directly from Xbox live like I did with SR4?

Naturally the day it comes out I end up working 11 hours lol. Honestly I'm having a hard debate here after getting 3 hours of sleep last night, should I go home and spend a few hours having a blast, or should I actually get a good night's sleep so I'm not sleepwalking at work all day? Decisions.

Maybe in a few weeks.

It's going to be a massive download might as well buy the discs IMO.

Ya that's what I'll do I think. Wanna get the whole VIP package anyways. I still use my R* gym bag from the GTA IV set lol. Besides I'm halfway thru SR4 so that'll keep me busy til the mayhem dies down.

Doesn't sound like much of a decision to me.

Grand theft auto was well worth the money. The strip club alone made it worth 60.

In other news EA sports announced they won't be making a college football game this upcoming year. Always liked that game a little more than madden.

I don't play too much on weeknights since I don't have a lot of free time when I get off work, but I put some hours in last weekend (as in pretty much all day Sunday bookended around when the Skins were playing. This weekend I have to work Saturday though but I'll probably end up playing the game Sunday when the Skins aren't playing. I'm almost at the end, Idw to reveal any spoilers but I'm trying to beat the game before Oct. 1st so I can make mucho guapo on the stock market. After Oct. 1st all bets are off because the BAWSAQ market revolves around what players do in game.

There's only 1 strip club I've found in the whole game so far. Geez. You'd think they'd at least put 1 on each end of the world.

Anyone else playing Battlefield 4? It's so buggy right now it's almost unplayable.

COD Ghosts is out today and I'm trying to convince myself it's worth another $60 purchase. Been there done that too many times already.

Feels like the game companies are doing the same thing with some of these half baked efforts lately.

At least there's GTA V to keep busy with.

Which system are you getting?

I'm still on the fence, gonna wait it out initially.

Luckily getting both from my job, leaning a bit more Xbox at first and until Titanfall comes out (I prefer Xbox live to psn especially given they both require money for online now), but could swing more towards PS4 when destiny comes out due to exclusive content. Easily my two most excited about titles next year.
