I wish Trent Williams would return. Stephen Heyer makes costly penalties in every game.
I can't believe we won that game!:food-smil |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Nice defensive effort for sure. We were very physical, but is it me or is tackling becoming a lost art? And I am not referring just to the Skins, but just about every game you see(especially NCAA), too many guys just wrapping up a guy without laying a lick on him or just giving a shoulder bump. I liked what Banks did today, but the jury is still out for him until I see him play more. I liked Armstrong also. He caught two long balls for us(one was out of bounds), but he does give us another deep ball threat, and he will only get better with time. I hope CP gets better soon. Would like us to give the Pack a decent game next week.

I can't believe we won that game!:food-smil
Neither can I. This game makes me eat a lot of crow. I predicted an Eagle W by 10-14pts. hopefully on Nov 15 we can play just as physical at Fedex and swepp the Eagles. |

Shanahan gave props to Albert in his presser.

And will trade him next week :) JK! |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I agree that Bidwell must go...but keep in mind...some of the snaps were high (as ususal) which certainly affects a punters timing with 10 guys coming to kill him.
Even if we do get a different punter, we will still have the same long snapper issues. Don't be suprised if we have more botched FG's and blocked/poor punts. Lets look at the whole picture...too bad Red Snapper was snapped up! Also....I LOVE that we actually won....did not expect that in the least....but the reality is that the Eagles beat themselves and we still gave them a shot to win on the last play...which they should have since their WR had 2 clean hands on the ball. This is the same way we beat Dallas...we didn't "win"....Dallas beat themselves. The majority of teams will not self destruct like this... Maybe I am greedy....but I'd like to see us WIN a game legitamately, without needing to depend on the other team screwing up to barely lose to us. At this point, we should be good enough to close out opponents with the ball in our hands when we have a 2 score lead in the 4th quarter. I still do not agree with rotating Olinemen...I believe it disturbs the cohesion of the line...But I did like some of the up the gut power rushing calls that Portis excels at. It seems Torrain likes to stretch it out...unfortutely, he doesn't have the speed to pull that off consistantly...he needs to learn to take it up the gut more like Portis...Hopefully experience teaches him that. I sure am glad the Skins ran a lot more today, there was no need to abandon the run last week averaging 8 yards a carry. I would like to see DT in the passing game....and they should use Banks in motion on a fake reverse if we get enough time to pull it off. He may be better as a decoy than with the ball in his hands. I also noticed Banks did not return critical late game punts....a wise move. Oh yeah....What was McNabb doing running out of bounds?....that would have made them use their final time out....and the Eagles may have gotten the ball with 30 seconds left rather than 1:15 or so. Also....on a 3rd and 6 with 2 minutes left...you should probably go for it with a pass with the worst defense in the league....something very safe...I won't argue with the results though. Who was this new Haslett? Kolb in the game and almost NO blitzing at all? Is the guy all or nothing?....reminded me of Blache a bit. All in all....a win is a win....I was cringing at the end after the missed picks and was expecting a loss...the same exact thing happened with the Texans....but this time....they lost...therefore....WE WON!!! YES. Now lets hope all our other opponents continue to play with a banana peel in there shoes. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I have to say our special teams have become a liability at times.
We can't punt, or at best you could call our punting unreliable, DT should have kept that last return in the endzone. Luckly our PR and KR coverage teams are much better than in recent years. But I still hold my breath with anything to do with our teams unit. I guess it has to do with our depth on the team as a whole. As much as I dont like Heyer, that last drive we ran behind him on the left side for both of ATV;s first downs. HE had 2 false starts and a couple of holds, and they were all at unopportune times. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
An ugly win but a win! All is well tonight. Happy for McNabb that had to have felt damn good.
WTF is going on with Devin Thomas? |

I can't believe we won that game!:food-smil
Daniels called him out so I doubt he'll miss another week. The good news though is that we won the game, none of are guys got to seriously injured, and Trent got another week to heal. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
Awesome game with the Skins bringing the lumber from the get go with a much more physical mindset than I've seen displayed by this team in all 3 facets of the game in a long time. Still had some sloppy plays that could have helped us if executed properly and some others that could have easily hurt us as well. All things said, it's a nice feeling being a month into the season and on top of the NFC East with a 2-0 division record and I think there's still plenty of room to get even better. HTTR!!!!

He said he wasn't specifically calling TW out but I find that hard to believe. Regardless, from what I understand Trent wanted to play but the coaching staff said no |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I didn't expect McNabb to get a standing ovation from the Philly crowd when he first came on the field. That was classy and very unlike Philadelphia fans.

I feel like the majority of Philly fans had internal discussions about it and decided this would be a good opportunity to earn some positive points. Or the majority of them actually do appreciate him now that he's not their starting quarterback. I'm sure he will start getting more love from Philly as the years go by. It'll be hard to duplicate the kind of success he had over the years. Of course it'll all be forgotten if Philly wins a SB without him. That could definitely impact his legacy in a negative way. |
Re: Redskins vs. Eagles Week Four
I wasn't expecting the standing O either, but then they promptly booed him on the first snap so I was relieved that Philly fans hadn't totally lost their marbles.
