As expected, Josh Johnson has chosen to stay close to home and will sign with the 49ers
^ If I were a team that had a 2nd I would do it. BTW Tracy Porter to Broncos.
There's a link. Not much of a surprise. He wanted to stay on the west coast and Harbaugh:Johnson is kind of like Kyle:Rex From what I'd heard we were only offering a one year deal anyway |

We should jump him. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Pacman Jones re-signed with Cincy.
I doubt any one else made him an offer. |

I cant blame him for the move i would have done the same thing, though its not much of a shot to play in SF anytime soon its certainly possible in the future, its much better than he wouldve had here with a 22 year old rg3. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
JJ should of came here in SF he's the third QB Smith, Kaep & JJ all young QB's. Skins RG3, Rex & JJ by next year IMO he would of been #2.

Matt Flynn - Dolphins: Ends up with Seahawks Peyton Manning - Redskins and Dolphins: Picks Denver after narrowing down choice between Denver, Tenneesee, and San Francisco Robert Griffin III - Browns: Redskins "outbid" Browns for 2nd overall pick Tim Tebow - Jacksonville, New England, Miami: Goes to the Jets Mario Williams - Anyone but Buffalo: Goes to Buffalo Vincent Jackson - Redskins and Bears: Goes to Tampa Carl Nicks - Stay with Saints?: Goes to Tampa Eddie Royal - Redskins: Signs with Chargers Seriously can anyone think of one free agent that signed with a new team he was projected to go to?
Brandon Lloyd to the Pats was pretty much called for by everyone. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Yeah and RG3 to the Skins really isn't a huge surprise.

Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Does anyone know what's going on with Yeremiah Bell? Is anyone taking a look at him?
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
i wouldnt mind possibly signing him for cheap at strong and have merriweather at free, unless of course we plan on using our 3rd on a safety then i would pass
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
If we were to sign him (which i doubt will happen because he's 34) i would only want it to be a really cheap, safe deal for a year. That way he could serve as a stopgap until next seasons safety rich draft.

Anthony Collins is staying in Cincy.

Miami cut him on Monday...no reported interest yet. As for Demetrius Bell, the Bills made him an offer on Monday but he still has not accepted it and we're still in the running I guess. He visited with us last Friday. The Cardinals have shown interest in him too. I hope we can sign him. I'm still concerned about Fletcher's status though. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
D. Bell won't be back with Buffalo

Drew Staton a Colt now? (or so says Incarcerated Bob)
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
not a free agent but panthers are trying to trade Jonathan Stewart.... any takers? good young rb but i just think we have far too many needs and not any picks to give away. i would only do it if it was a steal
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
^ Unless they take a 4th for him, I want to say no thanks.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
both our 4ths? lol nah they can prob get a 2nd for him. he can ball
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Stewart would be a great fit here, instant upgrade, and probably wouldn't cost as much as you would think because he's in the last year of his contract.
Stewart coming available is also why trading a 5th for Tim Hightower was not a great idea. |

I commend you for your keen hindsight. The only problem with your reasoning is that we needed a RB at the start of last season and Stewart wasn't available then. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
i thought it was a 6th and vonnie for hightower? i liked the trade a lot. i like hightower's style. i don't even view steward as being much better than hightower

You might be right that it was a 6th and Holliday. I thought it was a 5th and Holliday, but its possible that Holliday was what prevented it from being a 5th. |
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
The 6th was conditional and could have been a 5th, but isnt
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
Hightower was solid til he got hurt. Everyone was happy with the deal before that. Bruce Allen was looked at as a genius that straight up swindled the Cards.
|
Re: 2012 NFL Free Agency Tracker
I wonder if we will bite on some of these veteran offensive linemen that were released. I know some have some years under their belt, but if we can get them cheap, who knows?

Hightower should be in the mix. He probably wants something like a three or four year deal that will keep him a Redskin for a few seasons. But with Helu and Royster already the main focus of the coaches, it might be hard for Hightower to see playing time. |

CB William Gay to the Cards with a 2 year deal

Sports Listen to this stupid shit he told a 20year STH.
- He told Lawrence that had the Dolphins not traded receiver Brandon Marshall to the Chicago Bears for two third-round picks, the mercurial pass-catcher would have been cut outright. "[Ross] said they had been shopping [Marshall] for a couple weeks," Lawrence said. "Nobody would return their phone calls about getting him. If Chicago didn't take [Marshall] … they would have ended up cutting him very shortly after that, and got nothing.
Going to cut Marshall?...lol Really?
"[Ross] goes, 'If my coach wanted Matt Flynn, didn't you think he would be here?'" Lawrence said. "'If my coach said I want Matt Flynn as our starting quarterback next year he would be here, but I couldn't pay Matt Flynn $8 million to come here. If I end up getting him, it's a gamble … and I'm still drafting a quarterback. I'm still looking for another option."
wha..what? Tells the guy if the coach wanted Flynn, he would be there, expect for the fact that he (Ross) wasn't going to pay 8mil per season even though Flynn was interested in coming there...lol Mind boggling. |

Curtis Painter is like Peyton Manning compared to Caleb Hanie...well maybe not, but not far off
Broncos are also bringing in Dennis Dixon in for a visit though |
