Who is Kirk Cousins?
In my eyes Kirk has played decent, journeymen level QB. Maybe down the stretch he can finish hot and put together some strong performances.

I agree Griffin has more potential, actually Griff has shown proven ability. But I disagree that Griffin should have played.....not with Jay, a HC that cleary didnt want or believe in him. Imo Bruce's nepotism lead us to hire a HC that wasnt nearly as committed as he should've been to the development of what was at the time the franchises greatest talent and assest. Either way spilt milk.

I think there is a degree of desperate optimism with Kirk because at this point he's the only option and that causes many to be view him as better then he's shown.
More potential at what? A good 50 yard dash time? The high hurdles? Certainly not being a qb in the NFL.
Edit: lets see if Griff is starting somewhere else in the future where the coaching staff adores him and believes in him. Smh.

You dont believe that several teams wont be trying to sign him to see if they can make it work? There are more than just a couple offenses in the NFL. He has basically tried 1 (2012 was a college offense). He clearly sucks in the WCO, but there can still be other offenses he might have some success in.

Did not say other teams wont try. I said it wont happen. Yes it is firmly my belief that RG-3 will never be a successful starting qb in the NFL again.

Right now I wouldn't let cousins leave, I'd even tag him. Who else will be available at QB? Manziel? No thanks.

Dallas defense would have killed Griffin.. They probably would have had 10 sacks..

Blame the Skins, there isn't any reason that Griffin is still on the roster. They obviously don't plan on using him.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?
..in my opinion only RGIII WILL NEVER EVER WIN A STARTING JOB ON ANY NFL TEAM EVER AGIAN!! he might get signed but once the coach sees what he has got ..no thanks!! His strength was being super fast with his legs once he had the major injuries he simply had no game. to even be talking about this is crazy..but some still feel that Kirk is a bum and RGIII should have been the man..I will be shocked to see him actually get signed by another team and make the roster..yes in my opinion he is that bad..he could not grasp the simple check reads and he could not read the D at all. Cousins is going to prove a lot of you wrong and who out there believes we could get more for RGIII in a trade than we could get for cousins now..we could not get a 5th round pick for RGIII and i will bet you there are teams right now that would give up a number 1 pick for cousins..so are some of you smarter than a NFL GM…i don't think so..
Will you stop with the lie that we all think he is a bum and that we are rooting against him. Thats just you being a melodramatic diva bitch. We have always said that you get some good, some bad, some average out of him and we have yet to be proven wrong. That his overall performance, taking his good bad and average, makes him overall an average QB. No one is rooting against him. I was hoping for 800 yards and 9 TDs against Dallas but he was average to below average.

He is what he is, he reacts to everything he sees pre-snap. Dallas blitzed a lot early. Then showed blitz all the time even though they didnt come with it late any where near the amount of times they did early, yet KC reacted to blitz 100% of the time they showed it. Plenty of time late he had a pocket hold up but he was hitting the dump off in 1-2 seconds because his pre-snap read showed blitz and post snap they came with 4.

Also, claiming that we can get a number 1 for KC doesnt make you smarter than an NFL GM and us stupider than one. You went off on some angry dialogue and you finish with that?

I was under the impression we are saving a bunch of money by him being on the roster as long as he doesn't get hurt. Which is why he will never sniff the field this year. Maybe im wrong.

We don't save or lose if he is cut. His cost for this year is the same regardless of him being on the roster. You can confirm that at overthecap.com. or Schneed could chime in if I am wrong.

Up until the trading deadline you could assume we might have wanted his rights but that no linger is true.

One small cost would be the replacement player's salary, but that would seemingly be negligible

You are correct! That $ 16 million option is guaranteed for injury only and would count against next year's cap....if that money is spent on RG3 we would be very limited in trying to spend on potential free agent talent.....

That's why Griffin isn't seeing the field.

Who is KC? He is 24/31 300 Yds 1 TD 1 INT and one running TD.

CRedskinsRule 12-13-2015 04:31 PM

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

The important thing in that stat line is the 1 Int, and not because he threw it, but because after that pick, he didn't go full bad Kirk. It was a bad Int in our half of the field, but, it wasn't followed by more bad throws. He came back and made a few plays, enough to win the game.

I agree (not about the 2 bad throws, cuz maybe there's more on film). My point was he didn't disintegrate into bad Kirk for the rest of the game. He bounced back and made a few plays, the jump ball wasn't a good play, but it was on target to Reed, it wasn't a regression back to bad football on his part.

Actually might have a 4,000 passer for the first time since Brad Johnson.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Kirk could become the Redskins all time passing leader this year.

He's the only QB to have 1 passing TD and Rushing TD in 4 games besides Cam Newton.

If he throws for 4k yards and 20 TD. He will do it before other QB'S like.

Russell Wilson
Joe Flacco
And many other established QB in the NFL.

Stats are fun

At first I was just hoping for kirk to be a better JC, now he appears to be a franchise type qb, something we obviously haven't had in years.

Re: Who is Kirk Cousins?

Did not see the game. Saw the stats and the win. Looks like another very good game by KC ... on the road.

He has definitely improved as the season has progressed. "Bad Kirk," the guy who threw multiple picks and lost composure, seems to have mostly gone away. His good games are really good and his bad games are not that terrible. He is certainly good enough to win playoff games with if he has a good team around him and a good game plan.

He is better than I gave him credit for at the beginning of the season.

you know him taking the sacks in the first half and not forcing it...I got no problem with that. You could see him going thru progressions and you could tell they were coverage sacks. I believe only one sack was were our Oline actually got beat bad where Cousins didn't have time to throw the ball.
