Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
The rookie Qb's look good cause no one is game planning, vanilla defenses, basic coverages, some are playing against 2nd and 3rd stringers. Reality will set in week one. Like all rookies they're going to have their lumps.
You're right, and the pre-season rookie QB hype is, as always, ridiculous. You can see Zach Wilson's progress in mechanics, throws and confidence though. Difference in a week is an encouraging sign for his future. |

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Caleb Brantley (who exempt himself fmor 2020) is unsigned. not even sure he got a camp invite anywhere.
Thaddeus Moss, may make the Bengals as 3rd string TE, got that LSU connection with Burrow. Sua Cravens - finished his degree w USC, part of their pre and post game radio. Seems happy with his life choices, has a baby girl. |

Truthfully DSnyder building something like that would only lead to more derision. It should for JJ to, he built that, how many playoff wins has it got them in the past 20 years?

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Washington has lagged way behind in terms of facilities ever since Snyder took over. Dallas is definitely over the top, but we haven't even been close to the middle of the pack. Makes you wonder when you hear the "Snyder just wants to win" baloney.

Seriously. We don't need to build anything like that - but I know we've all heard how far behind our facility and amenities are compared to other teams. Dan can rehab that shit all he wants - he needs to build a new practice facility. |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Redskin Park is almost 30 years old. I remember when it was built right after the SB in 91.
Crazy how much that entire area has been built up. |

Flacco leads an opening game TD drive, Hurts not in uniform. Eagles I have no clue what they are doing.

Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Jags just traded Minshew to the Eagles. So they have Hurts, Flacco, Minshew, and Mullens. Not scary.

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
Definitely, Because you simply don’t bring this extra stress to his starting job if it wasn’t serious. This is kinda ideal for Minshew to be honest, it’s bad news either way, healthy or not, for Hurts. |

Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Thought Dallas would be the ones getting Minshew. Dak goes down they are toast. Not that the Eagles are all set at qb.
I think it was smart for Jacksonville to trade him and not have Trevor be worried about getting yanked. Same deal with Hurts. Personally I think Hurts is awful and Minshew will be starting in no time but if you want Hurts to be the guy going forward putting a starting caliber quarterback over his shoulder is counter productive though. |
Re: Around the NFL: NFL Offseason
Siriani probably wants a high octane passing attack with their shiny new receivers but has come to the same conclusion as everyone else, Hurts isn't suited to that kind of offence. They paid virtually nothing for Minshew, especially when you consider how much we gave up for Kyle Allen, so they have multiple options and, given the lack of good backups in tge league, if a starting quarterback goes down injured before the trade deadline they can flip one of them for a high pick. As much as I hate the eagles you have to admire the way Howie continues to turn FA QBs into high draft picks

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
That was my initial thought, but I actually don't think that is the case. I think they just found an opportunity to upgrade the 3rd string QB. Minshew has been available for a while now, and Mullens has showed nothing this preseason that would make them feel comfortable about the 3rd QB position. |

Minshaw was competing for the starter spot in Jax and had shown competence in it. Although maybe Philly trades Flacco and some picks for Watson, then Minshaw makes a lot of sense.

Sent from my SM-G973U using Tapatalk
I think if you can add a quality 3rd QB, especially with COVID still looming, it's the right thing to do. After all, you want to upgrade every position if you have the opportunity, and the 3rd QB is no less important. |

Mac Jones has easily outplayed Cam in the preseason |
