Re: Haynesworth fails conditioning test

Pretty sure passing a conditioning test isn't part of his contract, so the Skins don't have much leverage in that regard.

He will pass it eventually, probably with the help from a little creative work on the stopwatch.
My question is this: If Haynesworth is never able to complete the test, and he isn't able to play, can the redskins void his contract?

I mean they aren't gonna give him that much cash to be a backup, even if he does somehow pass the test and thereby make the squad.
He will eventually complete the test, or they will give an alternate test that still is one of the "normal" tests which he will pass.

Voiding the contract doesn't really get them anywhere, except make fans feel good.

They are going to get him playing, and when he does, his talent is what will keep him from being a backup. If he doesn't play hard in practice than Shanny will absolutely keep him on the bench.

If it came to that he would certainly file a grievance, and probably win, if he gets certification from his trainer that he had worked through the off-season and showed up in reasonable football shape.

I don't understand why his knee was swelling up. If he really was training hard to get in football shape during the off season then this wouldn't be an issue. Oh well....seems like he's just going to be standing around while this drags out another two weeks.

He's had some knee issues in the past, not sure about any surgeries though. Could just be something flaring up from the past. He missed some time in camp last summer with a knee problem.

If I remember correctly he has to get some sort of fluid injected into his knee every offseason. I haven't heard anything about it this offseason though.

Fluid injected in, or removed?

I've had the latter done about a dozen times...giant needle, hurts like hell.

In his case I believe it was injected. I get fluid removed also.

It's funny you mention that because I was thinking that same thing myself. Before this is all said and done, we may have to become an enabler.

I think Fat Al is pushing back now. I do think his knee is a little sore, but I think he's fed up with the Shanahanigans.
