I read somewhere that they have tried to move Ochenta y Cinco but can't even get a third round pick for him. The dude had a bad year last year to go along with a bad attitude.

Well that's what they deserve (Cincy) for not moving him earlier. Cincy knew they were going to lose either CJ or TJ; I don't understand why they didn't get rid of CJ when teams were interested in him and he wanted to leave. That organization needs to implode and get a new FO and coach. For all of you that cry about the Redskins being in a bad situation, well guess what, there are teams in terrible situations and Cincy is one of them.

You are correct, sir. For all of the questionable moves we make, Cinci is much, much worse.

And to think I wanted them to take him in the first round during the 2003 draft.

Re: 2009 Free Agents

Well, looks like Jason Taylor is going to join the vet min club. And to think he would've made 8mil here.
Interest waning in Taylor?
Jason Taylor | Redskins | Interested: Patriots? Dolphins?
About a month ago, it looked like there might be a bidding war between two AFC East rivals for the services of defensive end Jason Taylor. But now, with the draft presenting both the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins with the opportunity of bringing in a player of Taylor's archetype that is over 10 years younger, the prospects of the veteran signing for anything over the minimum are looking slim.

As reported by the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will first attempt to draft a suitable pass-rushing outside linebacker this weekend. Failing that, they would then consider a return for Taylor. The Herald mentions USC's Clay Matthews as a potential target with the team's first round pick (No. 25 overall), but Matthews' teammate Brian Cushing could also be an option in spite of lesser skills as a pass-rusher. Beyond the first round, the Dolphins could target Clint Sintim, Cody Brown or Zach Follett, as all are graded well by Scouts, Inc. in pass-rushing abilities.

If the Patriots take Matthews at No. 23, and the Dolphins go with another suitable option either at No. 25 or later in the draft, Taylor will have a hard time landing a lucrative deal this offseason and may have to settle for the veteran minimum if he wants to play in 2009.
They wanted to not set a precedent for allowing players to demand trades; heh, you reap what you sow.

Re: 2009 Free Agents

I can't find a link yet but NFLN reported that, in the wake of drafting Curry, they have taken the franchise tag away from LB Leroy Hill. This makes him an unrestricted free agent.

^^^this was on NFLN also.

I think it would be a decent pickup but he would def want big money.
He led the Seattle D in tackles last year so....

Re: 2009 Free Agents

In the wake of tackles taken high in the draft, we might find the Bungles releasing Levi Jones, as The Goat has very helpfully indicated several times. The Jags may release Tony Pashos. And the Giants may release one of their many OT's. We may find free agent help at RT which is a better bet than Mike Williams.

Wait, is a RFA or UFA? And i think the one thing the skins have proven to us over the years, the FO may not know how to put together a winning football team, but they sure as hell know how to play with the salary cap, so i don't see money being an issue.

UFA. He was franchised but they removed the tag, making him an UFA.

I'm fan of Edge, he's good.. But we don't need him, we already have someone similar, Portis and Betts.. And once again, cap situation..

Edge just isn't the same runner he used to be. Look at his yards per carry since he left Indy.

LaBoy can start at linebacker for about 5 games then would get injured a miss the rest of the season. We could just resign MW and get the same results.

Yes, and the franchise tag is incompatible with long-term financial security, or at least it is often perceived as such.

DRE BLY Anyone?

Should any injuries happen soon, or the coaching staff realizes the younger guys (Tryon and the newly drafted Barnes) are not ready, what do you think about Dre Bly?

He'd be the senior DB, age 31, next oldest is Smoot at 29.
But he's had awesome years, still has a couple in him I bet,
and didn't he want to come here really bad back when the Lions were trying to deal him out?

I guess this is a good place to drop this news flash........poor Denver

Broncos Sign Brandon Lloyd
Posted by Aaron Wilson on June 15, 2009, 7:02 p.m.

At a time when star wide receiver Brandon Marshall has requested a trade, the Denver Broncos have signed journeyman wideout Brandon Lloyd, according to Mike Chambers of the Denver Post.

The signing reunites Lloyd with Broncos quarterback Kyle Orton, whom he played with last season in Chicago.

Lloyd, 27, caught 26 passes for 364 yards and two touchdowns last season. He started five games last season for the Bears.

Lloyd has previous stints with the Washington Redskins and the San Francisco 49ers, catching 156 career passes for 15 touchdowns.
