Ravens were ready to make a deal with the Bears, then Chicago balked and clock ran out, causing Baltimore to miss its turn. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Dam, I like this WR that the Chiefs just picked up from Pittsburgh........
I swear, this stupid azz 3-4 better pan out, because our defense would be light years better right now if we were still running a 4-3 defense. Ive said it before and I'll say it again....I HATE THAT WE SWITCHED TO THE 3-4 DEFENSE. ABSOLUTELY HATE IT. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Because we switched to 3-4, creating more needs.
So we were superbowl contenders with th 4-3 defense? |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
And New England Traded their pick.

Nice huh? Warm weather, low cost of living, high unemployment......we're working on that last one. Still high unemployment is great because I don't have to pay $300,000 for a two bedroom condo. lol. |

Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
The Saints are trading back into the first in the Pats spot. I would assume for Ingram.

To the Redskins? |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
saints will take Ingram
|
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
the Saints apparently traded with the Patriots.
|
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Oh crap. Thats bad news for the rest of the NFC. Bush and Ingram in the backfield. Not as bad as Suh and Fairley but still.
|
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
Bush may be gone
|
So we were superbowl contenders with th 4-3 defense?
No we weren't, just saying that the change caused need. Can teams STOP giving the Patriots F'ING first round picks!!!!! UGH!!! |

Yeah didn't stay long. Just going through the airport on my way to the Caribbean. Love the city though. Braves are my team. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
When did I say you can win with just a defense? I SAID, you have to have BOTH to be elite. I simply stated it doesn't matter what order IMO. You right, we couldn't win without a QB. But you also aren't going to win without a line, position players, and a defense. Haven't you noticed that really good defense teams make it deep in the playoffs a lot?
Teams drafting 20-32 have franchise Qb's... why are they drafting in the later first round? Because they are good teams w/ franchise QB.. |

Well tell me how it is most franchise QB's aren't picked in the bottom half of the 1st and entire 2nd round? Because elite QB's go early. Top 10 picks. We didn't have a shot at that this year. So we can easily fill one of the tons of other needs we had. You think Minnesota did themselves a favor reaching for Ponder at 12? Nope. You and I are comparing apples and oranges my friend. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
The Jets may select the next NT.
|
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1

See the thing is I don't think it really makes them that much better. They needed more defense (48-21 in the playoffs anyone) and the draft was deep at receiver. They have a great QB so they didn't need to get the "succeed with any QB" type assuming Jones develops that way. Even the Cardinals who made it to the Super Bowl with an elite Receiver duo didn't win. |

Wow Mark Ingram. What emotion, you gotta love that.
I'm just saying...actually a better way to say it is this. If Gabbert is untouchable in 3 years and is greater then the collective value of Kerrigan and any QB we acquire I will be pissed.
He won't be, don't worry.

Dude, all i'm saying is we had a great defense for many years, and it didn't get us anywhere.. I'm all for drafting offensive and defensive lineman. I have been screaming for the last 5 years about drafting offensive lineman, but when you have a chance to draft a possible franchise QB, I would think its worth the risk. It not like they where reaching for a pick. Two month's ago he was projected going #1 overall. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
So Dalton, Mallet, Kaepernick, and Stanzi......hmmmm.
|

Well that is the difference between you and me. You see him as a franchise QB. I do not. And 15 other teams that picked before the Redskins agree with me. |
Re: 2011 Draft Thread Round 1
