So why did Shanny say that Albert is our starting "nose tackle". I have to think those words were carefully chosen. Maybe I am wrong but I just don't see Shanahan making a generalization with that statement. I think it was at least a shot across the bow.
Cause hopefully he will be, but he'll also play DE, some DT in a 4-3, even linebacker (well maybe not)

But anyway, it was LaCanfora that you heard.

But I don't disagree that we'll run the 3-4 a lot, moreso with JLC's assessment that it's being forced upon Haslett

Well I'd much rather have him here playing NT,DE and DT than trading him away.

I hope you are right. I just find it fascinating that someone like JLC would feel comfortable making something like that up and presenting it as if there was truth behind it.

Maybe I am being naive.

JLC prefaced it by saying "I've been told..."

Well I've been told otherwise
Best case scenario is if they deal AH to Detroit or TB and get their 2nd rounder, which is like a late 1st rounder. Personally, I want them to get a 1st rounder and then some.
Under normal circumstances Haynesworth should command a 1st round pick. His reputation has taken such a hit, there are teams that want him but are reluctant to make a deal, at least not for a 1st.

I just hope the team wont be in such haste to trade him (if they decide too) that they won't receive his value in return.

All the talk about changing things too quickly is Bull....How much worse can this team get? The 2009 record was 4-12.....If Shanny comes in and blows the whole freakin team up, so be it.....Redskins fans are still hoping and praying for the SUPERBOWL..This team needs to be rebuilt, Offense and Defense...Stop hoping for the playoffs and be realistic. Donavan was added for stability during the transition, not for a 1yr Superbowl run.. Look at the defense for Green bay, they made the transition to the 3-4 fairly easy by adding linebackers through the draft and plugging in thier old DE's & DT's.... As long as the team improves on 4-12 im all for change!!!!!

Trade em all and let the draft sort it out..............
By "everyone" are you refering to employees of NFL network? This information came from an analyst speaking during a segment of the Tony Kornheiser show. This isn't, "Hey what if Champ comes back".
I mean everyone acting as if hearing an analyst (still unnamed) on a radio show say something means it's gospel. These clowns are just making noise to justify their airtime. Haslett did have to interview for the job and if he took it after being told what the head coach wanted, now's not the time to bitch. But until i see him quoted directly, i'm not buying any division within the new staff over scheme.

Too bad Haynesworth doesn't have Carter's attitude:

Carter opts to attend minicamp to be with teammates, learn new system

After spending time in California while rehabbing from surgery to repair a torn biceps, linebacker/defensive end Andre Carter has returned to the area for the minicamp that begins Friday at Redskins Park.

Carter has not been cleared to participate in team drills, "but I wanted to be here to support my teammates and get going on all the new stuff we're going to be doing," Carter said in a phone interview Monday. "They haven't cleared me to do everything yet, so I'll just have to get a lot of mental reps and work with my position coach [linebackers coach Lou Spanos] on some of the things I'll need to do. But I wanted to be here. I felt I needed to be here."

Carter is coming off the best year of his career as a hand-down end. He was the Redskins' most productive defensive lineman in their 4-3 scheme last season.

But the Redskins are switching to a 3-4 defense, and Carter struggled in his only season as an outside linebacker while with the San Francisco 49ers. Because of Carter's previous limitations in man-to-man coverage, the Redskins are reportedly considering trading Carter, who has a no-trade clause for the length of his contract.

"It's fair to say that this is where I want to be. I want to be right here in Washington," Carter said. "I'm really just focused on finishing my rehab and working to get in the best possible position I can to prepare myself for playing for the Redskins this season."

Just another reason to stick with the 4-3. I love what AC brings every Sunday.

What's going to be more devastating is if Haynesworth leaves via trade and we don't get an equal replacement.
