Well, our one from last year, Armstrong. But I've been so high on Hankerson since the end of the college season, I could see him playing his way onto the field on an every down basis.
That's a good problem to have, at least. Hard to have too much depth at the receiver position. But if you end up cutting future performers because you don't have space on the roster, then you have too much depth. I firmly believe the injury bug is probably going to make this signing look good. I just don't see where Moss fits in with everyone healthy. Just remember: I didn't see the logic in drafting LaRon Landry at safety with Sean Taylor already in the fold. And that...well, Landry is perhaps our only building block right now. The ends can justify the means. Biggest concern: we do actually need the depth, but have to expose a valuable player to waivers trying to pass him through to the PS simply because he didn't have enough of a chance to earn his spot on the 53 man.
I guess I'm just not as high on AA as some. Nice deep threat, but we've yet to see if he can be anything more than that on a consistent basis. If we still went after someone like Holmes/Edwards/Rice, I would see that guy and Moss as 1-2, and Hankerson and AA as 3-4. I like Hankerson too but it might take some time for him to work his way on the field consistently. These young guys are going to be facing a steep curve in their rookie years. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
Various reports are now saying Leinart is going to Seattle. Jackson, Leinart, and Whitehurst in Seattle? Doesn't seem quite right. Never has the statement "when you have three quarterbacks, you have none" rung more true

Please, everyone knows who's going to win that battle. |
Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
I look at it this way, we still need a #1 WR. Someone who is the go to guy. Someone proven would be nice and hope the rookies step up. We don't know what we have in the new guys.... they could turn out to be like Thomas and Kelly for all we know, and speaking of Kelly they might not be wanting put their eggs all in one basket.
They resigned Moss so all he does right now is fill his own spot. so if we pick up another WR then yes someone will have to go who's on the active roster not the two PS WR's from last year, but an actual active spot. Maybe Austin gets cut, maybe Banks if they find someone else who can KR/PR. I too would rather have too many and be worrying about who to keep vs. starting the season hoping someone steps up and they don't. |

Re: 2011 Redskins Free Agent Rumors and Reports Thread
11:45 a.m.—Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reports that before the lockout, Ravens offensive lineman Marshall Yanda rejected a contract offer from the Ravens that was worth $6.5 million a year (report through Rotoworld).
LaCanfora previously reported that the Redskins are interested in Yanda, who can play either guard or tackle. If they do indeed want to bring Yanda on board, the Redskins now know where the bidding for his services starts. |
