Clearly you are not intelligent enough to stay out of the vortex or you would known Garçon was a bust before we signed him and that, because of the need for speed at the WR position, Gaffney was a much better fit because he once fished and so was familiar with Fisher who should turn the Rams into a winner in two years even before he was hired due to the powerhouses he played as a safety for the Houston Oilers while playing on a sprained ankle because he wasn't a wimp but Fisher couldn't beat Gruden when Gruden was coaching the Raiders but was also once a cook at Hooter's so he didn't wait tables and would never have been called a Garçon.
So obviously Shananhan should be fired.
:bdh: You failed to fit in Haslett, Danny Smith, Gano anywhere in that though. Props for the Gaffney reference. |
OK, I'm going to play for this comment only. He's been fairly healthy his whole career, had a career high with garbage QBs last year and dropped a few last game after being hurt. Bust already? If RG3 was hurt after having a good first quarter week one and then did just OK last game would you say bust then too?
Seems mighty hasty to me.
Might be, but don't count on it with the luck this team has been having the past two decades. Think about it. The season is five games old and this guy has been 100% only for one quarter. He was OK to play Sunday, but obviously not up to par. We will know how the season will go by game 8. One thing I hate about the NFL is it is mostly hype city to the max. The fans get all hooked into it and excited, then boom!!!! Reality crashes it all down to earth. Happens all the time, and us fans always seemed to get hooked to some degree as well. The poor showing our wideouts had Sunday minus Santana's 77 yard TD should be cause for concern. I know RG wasn't in there, but damn, are we destined to lose automatically whenever he can't play? I was hoping that along with Moss and Garcon, Hankerson and Robinson would have given us something akin to what the Saints had in a WR corp when Meachem was still around. Looks like we might have to wait another season for the youngsters to fully develop. I know Cousins isn't RG, but he is a good QB. |

Good point. We faced a good team- a team that was and is undefeated up to this point. Hankerson, Robinson, and of course Garcon have their moments. Perhaps the offense is ordinary without RG3 because he is no ordinary quarterback. He gives a lot to defend so if there's a time he's not in the game, the defense becomes relieved a bit. Not saying Kirk Cousins can't play as good as Joe Montana or perhaps Richard Todd, but Cousins doesn't bring the same danger to defenses that Griffin III does. Sometimes I saw Cousins hang in the pocket longer than he should when he should have tucked the ball away and taken off. As far as the wideouts not getting any separation, perhaps Cousins didn't see anything open some of the time. |

...for playoffs, NFC championship, or the Lombardi? |

Seems mighty hasty to me.
Gotta measure "bust" as a matter of expectations. If Garcon was expected to be a #1 WR anytime up to this point in his career, he's a bust. No other way to see it. He had arguably the greatest QB in the history of football tossing to him for what, three or four years, and never broke a thousand yards. He didn't break that barrier last year either, even with Wayne gimpy for what, most the season? Shanny paid way, way over Garcon's career performance thus far, hoping to catch him on the upswing. Could still happen, but frankly it would mean Garcon becomes a totally different kind of player than he's been up to this moment. Setting Garcon aside, I'm of the view talent isn't our issue. Defensively, we still are better suited for a 4-3 scheme. You make that switch with smart d coordinator and we're a top 10 defense, even with the current state of our secondary. Offensively, we've been great this year as long as RG3 keeps the pigskin about half our rushing downs. Take that factor out of the equation, as seen in the last two games, and the offense is closer to average than elite. My suspicion, though I hope I'm wrong, is that Kyle's play-calling becomes ever more predictable as has always been the case with him. And that likely translates into offensive anemia. Same with the offense as with the defense, we have the talent to be consistently good. Obviously, the line cannot be great with the likes of Polumbus waddling around out there, and if we lose Trent the line falls to pieces. But we've got an elite TE, an average WR corp that if schemed properly will consistently move the chains, a solid ground attack and a QB with elite skills. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Someone needs to look up that Garcon free agent thread. People around here were so damn happy, acting like we just signed Jerry Rice. Garcon has never had a 1,000 season or 10 td's. I still think it's way too early to go sour on the guy but no way was he worth 42 million.

His pay definitely outweighs his play. Apparently 42 mill is not an issue i guess though when it comes to garcon??? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

The Rams will be a dangerous team in the very near future. 3 years from now they might be what the early 1990s Dallas Cowboys were then. I expect them to be a playoff team by the start of the 2015 season. As far as how far they'll go is anyone's guess. |
Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
I think theres a good shot the Rams make the playoffs now. AZ is declining since they have no OL, Seattle has a rookie QB who is streaky. Packers ain't doing too good. Minnesota may be a fluke, with not a great secondary. Atlanta is the only good team in the south. The whole NFC is gonna beat each other up and send probably just one team again to the playoffs.

Re: Falcons at Redskins Post Game Thoughts
Garcon is 5 games in to his Redskin Career.. he doesn't have 550 yards w/ 4 TD's.. He's a bust obviously.

Pierre Garcon is not a bust. he has 9 receptions for 180 something yards with a 19 yard per catch average and 1 TD. As we all know, he's been hurt. There's 11 games left for him to do damage. |

I was being sarcastic lol. I have faith in him. I can't speak on the behalf of others though. |

For some reason, I don't think much of Josh Morgan. I admire him only because he's a DC native. He has produced, but his game is limited a bit. Hankerson I think is still developing. By his third year he'll be dangerous. I like how he contributed in the game against the Bucs. Aldrick Robinson has potential too. If he's to be the Redskins version of Victor Cruz, he needs to stop lolly gaggin' and let it all hang out. |
