Suspend Conforto for not dodging a strike that barely glanced off his elbow?
Come on. That's totally ridiculous. Is Conforto the first batter to lean into a pitch? And in real time you could barely even pick up on the lean.
Obligatory #fuckJoseTabata Mad Max lost a perfect game because of that asshole. Seems like umps in general never call it when a player leans in to get a HBP. |
Re: MLB thread
Please. Don't hate the player hate the game. The ump botched the call.

Re: MLB thread
I say don't even worry, karma will swing back around and screw over the Mets at some point this year. Guaranteed.

Re: MLB thread
Punch, how do you like the new Yankee Stadium?
RF is a joke imo. It's difficult to hit a single there, because the fence is so close, you can play super shallow. But any decent fly ball is a HR. Our 3rd baseman hit a routine fly ball and got a HR instead, and it was his 1st of the season. Note - It was a short series split. If Yankees won both or we did, I wouldn't ask. But it feels like the perfect time to ask a Yankees fan about the stadium. |

Yeah, he's a stud. The NL East was supposed to be the best division. Everyone so far is mired in mediocrity. Still early. Should be a fun race. |
Re: MLB thread
John Means with a no no. The birds go 4-2 against Oakland and Seattle on west coast. Means with two great starts. Not a bad week at the office.

Congrats to the O's, still hold a soft spot for them despite their general disdain towards us for abandoning them when the Nats arrived in town. I still want them to do well though. Peter Angelos can go fuck himself though. |
Re: MLB thread
Peter Angelos is not well loved but his sons seem pretty good so far. They come on radio shows and do a lot of Q and A. I have no hate for Nats rooted for them in the WS and love the city of DC. I am a bit bitter about MLB reneging on the MASN contract they signed when moving the team to DC but businesses do that all the time and I get it. Having a successful franchise in DC is a national brand issue.

The hate for the Astros is strong. My best friend is a Dodgers fan, and he hates them still, with every fiber of his being. It hits a bit different for AL or Dodgers fans. Rightfully so. |

Re: MLB thread
Punch that series against the Astros is probably the only time I will root for the Yankees.
