Mike silver
“However, when it comes to the quarterback position, I believe Kirk Cousins wants to be in San Francisco, I believe that Kyle Shanahan, who has been very, very high on Kirk Cousins since he was the offensive coordinator in Washington when they drafted Cousins, I believe that marriage wants to happen on both ends.” “It’s an expensive marriage and we’ll see in terms of trade compensation that would take to get him, maybe something that happens in a year. But if I had to make a guess one way or another at this early stage, I would say it’s more likely than not that Kirk Cousins ends up being the 49ers quarterback.” |

Honestly look at what has happened to Indianapolis, they paid luck stupid $ and now they have no talent around the guy. Maybe TY that's it. No line no rb and no defense. Kirk hasn't done enough to get paid 25M a year I'm sorry |

Luck getting paid isn't what's holding them back though. Blame that on shitty drafts and free agent busts. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
If Cousins leaves it's not the end of the world. I've never felt that way. He is an above average qb that was surrounded by great talent. I think he's more replaceable than 99% of my fellow warpathers. I'm open to anything besides trading for Romo or having him play out the year on the franchise tag. Hopefully someone blinks before us.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
Yeah and apparently he doesn't want to be here long term. I'm fine with the number 2 overall pick. How about going after Trevor Simien for a mid rounder?
I think he (Cousins) may have softened some on the long term things because part of his issue, it is said, was that he was unsure of who his HC would be down the road. He didn't want to sign long term only to have Gruden and company canned after one season. But i'm not 100% sure about the Gruden extension because someone else on here said there was provisions that would essentially let the redskins part ways with him after 2018, that the deal was mostly fluff like the McNabb extension... |

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
That's crazy you just posted that because about five minutes before my buddy texted me that says they are saying on 49ers boards that it is indeed a done deal. Cousins is getting serious love over there in San Fran.

No no no this isn't true

Take it easy. The highly paid insiders are highly paid for a reason. Wait until they have something to say.

Cousins has not signed his tag yet, cant get traded till that happens.

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
If it was said on TV then it's on the internet. Find the link or don't fucking mention it. Unless you're Smoot who hears things first hand, you're completely out of line if you relay info on this site without providing the link.
People are generally very poor at differentiating between reporting and speculation. You appear to be one of them. Provide the link. |

Most outlets are all reporting this. If u haven't seen it on Tv, Internet, radio then u are sleeping under a rock. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
The words you typed are not what's being said. What's being said stems from Silver's speculation that he thinks Cousins will be in SF this year or next.
He did not say a trade would happen in the next few weeks. Provide the link. Like all of us, I'm googling the crap out of Cousins constantly, and I don't see what you typed. |

They asked him about kirk and the likelihood of when a deal would be done, he said along the lines of "if it happens, it'll be within the coming weeks" idk what else to say other than it was on NFLN today. I tried looking it up as well. Again I'm a cousins fan and want him here so I'm not saying stuff because I'm hoping it happens. |

I have to agree!! Kirk has had chances and in the BIG games at critical times he is average.. Why in the world would the skins make him the highest paid QB in the league..which is the kind of money he wants. He is not in the the top 10 QB's in the league.. Brady,Rogers,Newton,Wilson,Ryan,Big Ben,Brees,Carr, for sure are ahead of him..and you could argue that Flaco,Manning(super bowl wins),Rivers, are better and then you have Mariotta,Winston who are young and only getting better..And truth is Prescott is on rise..Cousins is more like Dalton,smith,stafford..good but not great. That is just my opinion and with all that said ..i would like to see Kirk on the team just not at 25 million a year. |
Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
We need balance because you guys insist on latching onto rumor and conjecture and treating it as reporting. Here's Schefter. He's pressed to say whether the outcome will be stays with Wash this year, or trade. He says stays, because Bruce and Dan don't want to feel forced.
Cousins' future won't be a forced decision - ESPN Video Note, this too is a guess! Wait till something is REPORTED before you spout it here. Or at the very least, link it so those of us with a brain can do some thinking. |

Re: Kirk Cousins 365 thread
I know everyone is going to say for 24 million they'd do it, but i honestly can't imagine Kirk wants to stay here.
I mean listen to the reports that are out there, Agents are wary of their clients signing with the Redskins because they do not know who is in charge. You also hear now that it was Bruce Allen who made up the whole scenario about the Kirk Cousins 3 way trade, and then "leaked" it to reporters. Vinny might be gone but damn his spirit still lives on... |

It makes you realize how little critical thinking people actually do. It used to be something most did, maybe because the news cycle wasn't so fast so people had time to digest information and think about it for a bit. Now it comes so quickly, people just seem to react. Nobody wants to go through the process of filtering rumor from report, conjecture from fact, or even considering sources. It leads to a lot of stupid shit being bandied about on the internet, sports or otherwise. Is nobody concerned about their reputation anymore? If you get caught up in rumors often enough don't you start to feel stupid, or at the very least gullible? If you read Breitbart and buy into some of their manufactured shit, or Occupy Democrats and fail to recognize how they cherry-pick facts and purposefully omit others, then you're in the same boat as those who believe some blogger on the internet who says KC to San Fran is "all but done". Let's step it up guys. We are The Warpath, for a long time we've been the smartest Skins board on the net. You have to question everything you hear. Nothing wrong with sharing rumor, but at the very least ask whether others think it can be trusted. Better yet, think about it yourself and offer original thought that's grounded and measured. Matty this is obviously not directed at you, I just chose your post to reply to. |

There's so much noise coming from all sorts of directions that one doesn't know what to believe. Even trusted sources have fallen prey to fake news. I think society was much better off when we didn't have news so readily available. If you didn't read it through the news papers, watch it on the 6 o'clock news or the 6:30pm World News, then you just didn't hear about it. |
Kirk Cousins 365 thread
I tend to analyze news from all sources, including the tweet I posted. Chad Ryan may be random to people who don't know him, but he holds water for a sizable group that does. In other words, he's not one to post rumors for click bait. His sources are usually credible- he may or may not have been given a false leak this time around. It remains to be seen. But why is he considered less reputable than anything that comes out of Bruce Allen's mouth or anyone from the Post nowadays? The Internet is the news medium, whether you like it or not.
This is a thread called "Kirk Cousins 365". People are going to post rumors on both sides of the spectrum. If we really are going to vet sources and cite everything in MLA format (hyperbole I know), it kind of detracts from the whole entertainment value of forums in general. This is why I am starting to get slightly concerned about Kirk staying. When you hear names like Ian Rapaport getting involved you start to wonder. And unfortunately for the most part when there's smoke with the Redskins there's usually fire, we have earned that rep and then some. |
