Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
I think ultimately he was just trying to get more $ from the Eagles.
He flirted with the NFL to get more money from Oregon. Oregon gave him more money to stay, and then he used that to go back to the NFL to get even more $. Pretty douche-baggy, but very business savvy. |

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
The Eagles have some speed but for some reason visions of Steve Spurrier keep popping up in my mind.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
That's not a certainty. In order for DeCamillis to take the same position with another club, he has to be released from his current contract.
If the Bears offered him the title of Asst Head Coach, which is a step up, than he can leave without being released from his current contract. Although I have no heartache with him leaving.
So you come back when we get knocked out of the playoffs. Figured you would have come here after the Dallas game and congratulated use on winning the div. Yea, right. |

Yup. I was thinking the same thing. Unlike Petrino and Saban, the guy has zero NFL coaching experience. Not that this dooms him but, IMHO, it makes him less likely to succeed - it certainly makes the task of adapting harder for him. I, for one, am VERY glad the Eagles went C. Kelly and the Bears M. Trestman rather than the other way around. I think, given his history and the glowing reports most insiders (including ex-coaches) give him, Trestman is going to be a very good hire. |

Just because you have luxury to do something, doesn't mean it's the best "moral" choice. It was a wise strategic move, but "inconsiderate" to the eagles and ducks. That was my only point. |
If Kelly can get a system QB, I think the Eagles could be scary. Considering the way offenses are evolving, he could have success. After watching what happened to my school's defense, Kelly will own Monte Kiffin in Dallas twice a year.

Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
So Kelly annouced he took the job one day after the deadline for underclassmen to declare for the draft. Not sure if this impacts any Oregon players but you think Kelly could have timed it a bit better. |

brad otton kyle wachholtz john fox mike van raaphorst
Oh man, now you're just bringing up my entire undergrad nightmare lol. Hey, Otton won us a Rose Bowl during that terrible 2 qb offense. And even Tom Brady wouldn't win under Paul Hackett. |
Re: Black Monday: NFL Coaches and Executives Carousel
Just was reading over on my favorite Love-To-Hate-Them Eagles forum. They are NOT enamored of this hire. LOLOL.
Damn I came here hoping this wasn't true.... I guess it's official, the Eagles & the Skins have totally switched team philosophies... How long before Kelly is on our sidelines giving bubble guppy lips during a MNF loss?
Response:
Depends on when their first MNF game is.
One more (just for it's poetic lilt):
Hey so farg this right in the goat ass. Gimmicky college offense can suck my fat white nut.
Enjoy more vitriol at: The Coaching Search Thread |

All parties act the same so I don't blame him. If the Ducks decided to can him they would whenever they wanted and why would I care about the Eagles. |
